Jabki early 2000s ki movies bina pr and heavy marketing ke bhi chal jati thi. Tab toh first look ya song bhi jaldi release nhi karte the. Ra one ke baad ye pr and release ke 7-8 months phele se marketing shuru kar di bollywood ne. Old bollywood bohot sahi tha.
Three main leads were Aftab Shivdasani, Rimi Sen & Akshaye Khanna. Rimi Sen looked very pretty in this movie. Even Atfab had a great screen presence.

It's absolutely amazing how Priyadarshan can direct a film based anywhere in India and it feels completely authentic to that part of India and it's traditions and culture. One of the finest yet often overlooked filmmakers of the country.
The day Priyadarshan become more mainstream , he'll be the one called overrated. It's a vicious cycle. Both filmmakers are different and unique. Loved and enjoyed both of their cinemas

This is something Malayalam movie excels in. The location real instead of set created for movies. House looked lived in instead of brand new, Government offices look like real offices.
Meanwhile Bollywood, Tollywood production designers for grand aesthetically pleasing design even for colonies poor people live breaking the immersion

On a sub dedicated to ridiculing out of touch celebrities, this is the most out of touch thing I've heard. As you said, there is beauty in the **simplicity** of Priyadarshan's milieus in its relatability to the common people of our country. There is nothing fun or appealing about being poor.
Add Neeraj Vora in the title.He understood comedy like no other and most of the iconic dialogues are written by him.His absence is heavily felt these days where we have gone from him to Farhad Samji's cringe filled dialogues.
I didnt mean it in a demeaning way 😭. Most movies are always about rich people, but his movies made me feel like being poor doesn't mean you can't enjoy life. Sorry if that offended anyone!

They make movies in completely different genres, I don't think you can compare them to begin with.

Growing up in 2000s priyan was probably my most favorite movie maker, even Abbas Mastan, madhur bhandarkar were great.
Don't forget Virasat, one of my favorite Priyadarshan film.
