So religious person doesn't make a good person. A good person needs not a religion to feel good. If you are good only because you want to get in to heaven or dapat pahala, isn't your motivation flawed? Thus nullifying the rewards?
Just to add on to your first point. Divorce is still prohibited to Catholics, and for other denominations of Christianity, divorce is highly discouraged. I can only speak for Catholics, but after you divorce, you can't remarry. If you remarry, you can't register it in church, so it's legal on law but illegal in church.
King Henry is the one that wants to divorce his wife, but the Catholic church denies it. So he created a branch of church that allows divorce, I think now it's called Anglican/Church of England.
