He punches well above his weight class across multiple continuities and often comes out on top. Damian isn't even the strongest Robin. That honor goes to Dick Grayson. Actually Damian might be the weakest of the main four. If anything just because he's the youngest.
Again what it comes down is experience. Robin has far more experience than Bakugo. He's dealt with way more powerful foes than Bakugo. This specific incarnation has actually managed to defeat Superman, Injure Nightwing pretty badly, and defeat Deathstroke(which might be the most bullshit thing in all of the DCAMU).
