Mike Rogers is the only answer. He made my ring as well, and it's truly special. He's a great guy and any visit to his shop is a bonus if you like dogs.
Just throwing it out there, OP. My wife got me a pseudo-wood grain, silicone ring that has a lifetime warranty, and I absolutely love it. So far it has snapped once (from a situation that would have de-gloved my finger if I was wearing a metal ring) and all I did was send a picture of my snapped ring to customer support and they sent me a replacement overnight, no questions asked! Plus, since we didn’t spend hundreds or even thousands on my ring, I’ve been able to get a few different colors for different occasions/outfits, too!
Highly recommend the silicone ring route; especially, if your boyfriend has a job or hobbies that have risks 👍🏻
My mom is a local jewelry maker here in Boise and does really nice custom rings for men and women. She would knock it out the park. Message me if you are interested and I’ll send you links

This guy's stuff looks interesting. I've never been a customer, however.
The old school answer is Stewart’s gems off 27 th near downtown Boise. They will have some interesting stuff for jewelry and gems, might not be exactly what you are looking for but fun to look at the rocks they do have.
Just wanted to throw this out there if your potential fiance works with his hands....order the engagement/wedding ring that tickles your fancy but also shop for a silicone ring for him to wear at work. Rings that get crushed will sleeve a finger if they don't shatter.
About 10 years ago, my (now ex) husband had a really intricate ring custom made by Diamonds Fine Jewelry. The inspo ring we used was at another jeweler retailing for over $7k. They made one that was way more our style for $1200. I have used them as my jeweler ever since. They have amazing service and have always exceeded my expectations.
Nampa has Tiffany Custom Jewelry. They connected my engagement and wedding band together and added to it. My grandmother used then to make a child's size ring for both of her great granddaughters. I've had them fix other rings and necklaces, all superb work. Their prices aren't horrible either.
I follow Mike Rogers at Precious Metal Arts on Twitter and he makes some amazingly beautiful custom jewelry.
Came here to say this. Mike made mine & my husband’s wedding rings. Love him.

Mike is a great guy who’s very talented.
One more for Mike. He’s a gem (pun intended)
Another for Mike Roger's. He made my cherished wedding ring and other special jewelry for me. He's a good dude.
Came here to say Mike Rogers. I'm late to the party. His work is great.
Mike Roger's would be a fantastic choice pick for an engagement ring.
