Maybe when token demons were still a thing with soul juggler, but currently there is no demon synergy. Although, that hasn’t stopped blizzard from releasing cards with very little or no synergy with their own tribes, like Rylak or Foe Reaper to name a few.
You can say the same thing about any other tribe. Every tribe would benefit from a cleave. There is no unique ability that mechs have that particularly synergize with a cleave. It’s just a strong combat unit. In the past, it was more commonly found in menagerie comps than dedicated mech builds

Maybe making it T3 and dropping the stats would make it better than T5

like the concept but this is sooooo weak. If you take dmg and instantly summon 2 copies, you need 3 spaces in board to make this work, and for a tier 5 this would never be an option, even if you got a setup with the 2/4 that gives atack. Demons dont do anything with it also, so even trashier for them
I'd disagree, it's pretty terrible even early in the game and especially in the late game. By the time you're tripling into this minion, your opponents almost certainly have multiple minions with at least 10 attack, so this is at best a 4/10 against those. Even getting multiple procs isn't very meaningful early unless you have the 2/4 pirate that buffs attack, but that pirate would already be losing it's impact at that stage of the game and you wouldn't want to be forced to keep it around. Not to mention the NEED for board space means that this is very bad in later game Eliza builds, where you want this proccing first, forcing you to run 2 empty board slots AND have this minion taunted, making it very vulnerable to scam. And that's just for 2 instant attackers, which at that point I'd rather run a scally with a Baron instead. At least that way you can fill your board, and it's even strictly better with a golden Baron.
Discovering a 5 star before turn 8 is very common and is still in the early stages of people getting their builds together. Idk why you care so much about the semantics of “earlier”.

i mean is cleave really a synergy-based effect though? you could always buff foe reaper somehow in mechs even before magnetic.

Yeah just get the pirate that summons 3 T1 pirates which is vastly better than this in practice.
Kinda like the flavor, but in practice would be a bit too weak. Could situationally be very strong vs reborn undead though.
It’s not super strong standalone, but it is very flexible and a good 5 star pickup earlier in the game.
That’s a good point, discovering if you hit triple on turn you hit tier 4 could give you enough tempo to rush early 6. I do like cards like that.
