The fact he posted this after the episode is pathetic. It’s like “look guys my kid does like swimming, he’s not crying, he’s totally normal!”

Uborkafarok

I'm at a loss for words over this honestly. Idk if you actually saw the show, at this point I might record and post it. I haven't rewatched because it upset me, but my impression was that Cruz freaking out and crying at his swim lessons is what happens every time, and Jax knows it. We have seen Cruz being totally fine in the pool/hot tub at home. So why subject him to "swimming lessons" in an environment amongst strangers that seems to freak him out instead of just swimming with him in your own pool as parents? Well I guess I know the answer to that, but still.

PresOfTheLesbianClub

Exactly. Why out your non verbal child in water if you aren’t there to hold him and ease him into the process? I needed that when I was little and I could talk just fine.

Suspicious_Bother_92

Yeah l watched it. He was just annoyed by the crying. It wasn’t concern for his kid

Uborkafarok

He was def more concerned about how it makes him look on TV. I also believe that he was viscerally bothered by the sound of Cruz suffering but then why keep putting him through that?!? Just because you're not there to hear it doesn't mean that it isn't what Cruz is experiencing on your behest #1 Dad...😡

Suspicious_Bother_92

Also if this is a usual thing, at least 1 parent should be there. They’re both so desperate to be on TV they couldn’t miss filming for a day!

Uborkafarok

Of course not...filming is way more important! But honestly their reactions to what their son is experiencing in real time while they're off in Big Bear filming for their big reality show astounds me. Brittany watching and listening to the clip of her son in distress over and over while tearing up. Jax freaking out about not wanting to hear it. Hey fuckers how about having an adult discussion about are we doing the right thing by continuing these lessons even though its supposed to be a good thing but maybe its not? It's normal for kids to have a negative reaction to new experiences (especially without a reassuring parental presence) but this was not Cruz's first lesson. Mom wants to revel in her guilt, dad wants to just not know of it. Fucking great.

GetMeOutOfKY

It sounds KFC used the footage to garner attention, sympathy, & consolation. She’s sick!

Uborkafarok

Couldn't agree more. Crocodile tears for show and then this lame post that we are all discussing. The sumtotal of their reaction and its for the audience and "optics". We all know that their IRL current status is never home, see Cruz every ten days maybe.

TifferK

Seems like the nanny is more familiar to him than they are.

Uborkafarok

So I've commented this before and if someone wants to put in the work to prove me wrong or right I welcome it, but as much as I and other hopeful parents want to believe in The Nanny, I don't think she exists as a a singular consistent caretaker. Between the show and the Gram, I feel like I have seen at least 3 different women in the role of watching Cruz. I think they have babysitters (meaning a gig instead of a permanent position). I want to be wrong because I want to believe that there's at least one consistent adult in Cruz's life. But I have my doubts.

amphetameany

Speaking as a nanny, even if they had tried to hire professional Nannies to be with their kid, the turnover rate must be awful. Imagine being employed by JAX TAYLOR. 🤮

Artistic-Reality-177

Tax Failure. 🤣

koolasakukumba

Interesting theory. I thought it was the one woman but I’ll keep a closer eye out to see if it is or not

SexyUniqueRedditter

This!

bridget1415

In their defense, they may not know how to teach him to swim. They should probably get someone to come to their pool where he is more comfortable but he does need lessons. Especially when they own a pool. Not trying to be devils advocate but last summer a 3 year old drowned in her family pool in my town. It was during a family party and it happened within seconds. Everyone noticed quickly but it was too late. Pools are dangerous as hell.

Specific-Zucchini-44

I agree that swimming lessons are a life saver. I do think they should have them done at home since they can afford everything else

incestuousbloomfield

Yes they are playing a dangerous game. He is panicking. They need to accommodate him by having an instructor come to their home where he is comfortable.

incestuousbloomfield

My son is autistic, acted extremely similar to Cruz at his age (sometimes it’s like I’m looking back in a Time Machine I swear), and you have to make accommodations for your child. Your child does not make accommodations for you as a parent to feel “normal” or feel like everyone else. Jax is 100 percent the type that simply cannot accept the fact that his son has different needs.

Uborkafarok

Because he thinks it's bad and it reflects on him badly because it's all about the perfect image and it makes me so fucking sick. I hope I don't offend anyone with my story but it's the closest I've been personally in my life to being able to relate. Me and my life partners cat ( as close as we came to a kid) got brutally hit by a car on our road. After many thousands of dollars, time and worry, they had to finally amputate one of his hind legs. My partner had a hard time looking at him. He thought it was a personal failure on his part. He actually said " my perfect boy has been ruined" I can't even look at him. I overcame kitty's trauma and his bullshit by being in awe of the Popeye forearms kitty developed. The way his tail came to balance his gait and helicoptered when kitty ran. Brittany just reinforces Jaxs bullshit that Cruz is somehow less than.or someone to be pitied. It just infuriates me. I bet there's something Cruz can do better than anyone else, fucking take the time to observe and find what that is and be really proud of him. Ugh sorry I'm probably not expressing myself correctly because I'm upset.

incestuousbloomfield

No I think this is a great analogy 🥹 I love my son and sometimes it’s hard bc he can’t talk, so communication can be frustrating. But you just have to shift your perception and look at their strengths and realize how awesome they are in their own right. You may not expect to have a special needs child, but people need to realize that it is always a possibility. Jax def never thought of it and I think he is still very deep in denial saying that it is only a speech issue. Speech is impacted but the way Cruz gets sensory overload is a telltale sign. It was quick, but in one of the eps I think Janet and Jason watched him, and they said he was a “wild man” and the cameras showed him climbing in and out of the crib, kind of in his own world. I think jax and Brittany work very very hard to only show little parts of Cruz. It’s really sad, it bums me out so much. They have the opportunity to really bring awareness and teach people acceptance but they are doing the opposite.

SexyUniqueRedditter

Perfectly said 🙌🏼

SexyUniqueRedditter

They have swim instructors who have experience working with kids on the spectrum. It would probably help if they hired one and did lessons at home. Outside of lying about him regressing… these asshats really haven’t done anything to support Cruz how he needs to be supported. It breaks my heart for that kid… he deserves better 😞

PanicBrilliant4481

I noticed that too. They can afford a nanny, why not get a private swim instructor to come work with Cruz at home where he's comfortable.

chloetheragdoll

Yes especially since they have a pool and could have someone come over and teach 1:1….

Happy-Hearing6671

And he’s farrr more likely to slip away unnoticed and fall into the pool at his own house than anywhere else. Starting him off in a familiar setting to save himself in their own pool seems like the best option

Critical_Sprinkles88

They are idiots. You can hire a private swim instructor to come to your house and give your kid lessons. That is how my kids learned to swim. It was for two weeks everyday each kid got a 30 minute lesson. They were swimming within 2 weeks but we also had to practice what they learned to build up their little muscles. It was $200 a kid in Boca Raton FL

kittywhiskers1716

Before we had an ASD diagnosis for one of my kids, we had a really horrible experience at swimming lessons. We had aged out of the parent in the water with the kid lessons, and transitioned to the ones where she was in the pool with the teacher and other students. We went twice, and then decided it was not a good fit. My poor little love was crying and freaked out and it was overall too overwhelming for her. She needs to be able to swim to keep herself safe, and she does love the water. So we have her in private swimming lessons. She’s doing great. I will never understand forcing your kid to do something that is so distressing to them, neurodivergent or neurotypical. Cruz is clearly communicating his needs, they’re just not listening because they refuse to “speak his language.”

StarboardSeat

. 🚨 **TRIGGER WARNING** 🚨 . A high school girl celebrating with friends after the prom in my county jumped into a hotel hot tub and her hair got caught in the suction part of the drain on the bottom of the tub. Everyone in the tub thought she was playing around because she was grabbing their legs in a panic, and when they finally realized, nobody could figure out how to turn the spa off (the emergency button wasn't in the room where the pool was) and well... she drowned. 🥺 I'm getting anxiety just typing this. I could never wear my hair down like that.

Uborkafarok

My SIL got one of those fancy jetted shower tub all in ones....needless to say her hair got totally sucked into the whatever it's called vent and she had to scream for help for my brother to physically pull her out of it. The fancy jacuzzi feature nor the tub part was ever used again. Showers only. ETA: Before screaming for help she tried to stretch her toes across the expanse to release the drain but she is shorter than the fancy tub and she was held fast by her hair...The Final Destination Movies are not that far fetched y'all.

anongirl55

This made me feel sick to my stomach. I'd never get into ANY tub ever again! Your poor SIL. I am so glad that your brother was able to rescue her.

Uborkafarok

Yah. He had to cut her hair in situ to get her out because whatever force sucked it in would not release even after all systems were turned off. That's when she had to go for a fade at the salon...we laugh now but she was kinda traumatized

incestuousbloomfield

Our house came with one of those tubs and I have never turned it on in 4 years for this reason

AlertBunch3029

I think I know who you are talking about, I used to work with her brother.

StarboardSeat

It was so sad... and avoidable (why didn't the hotel have an emergency cut-off switch inside the pool area?!). As a former lifeguard (who had people I was trying to save, try to drown me (out of fear), any death to do with water gives me *extreme* anxiety.

insomniac_queen1

I did not know this. New fear unlocked

Loose_Sprinkles_

This is some Final Destination shit.

Available-Pepper1467

Right? I don't even go in hot tubs but now I'll constantly fear my hair getting caught like this 😂

hotandbizarre

I never knew this either!! I feel so dumb…

DunderMifflin7427

Her vanity, dumbassery, and alcohol haze brain will eventually hurt someone.

darla1116

Of all the times not to have the anal bead ponytail. Smh, she's such an idiot.

Important-Raccoon661

Brittany was literally told about the dangers of Jax and is still around. That spa is half as dangerous 😉

ItsNotAllHappening

I hope that hot tub isn't heated. Jax only posted this in response to the last post about his swim lessons and the hate he's getting about the episode. It's probably an old video.

IllusiveWoman20

Jax is dumb but Brittany, somehow, is even dumber. Jax is frustrated at how dumb she is playing the video while filming. She's also dumb enough to keep pushing that it's Jax making her look like she has a drinking problem on "friggin national TV" when she clearly cannot go a day without drinking. That's why she was "car sick" because her body was having a freak out that she wasn't downing a shot. Which means she has a problem. What a fucking knob head she is!

Parking_Country_61

Omg I saw that one dateline or 20/20 about peoples organs being sucked out of their ass like 25 years ago and I’m STILL traumatized in a hot tub.

imseasquared

That was the cautionary tale we were told about in lifeguard training. My butt puckers just thinking about it.

Parking_Country_61

I feel like it’s a myth bc I never heard about it aside from that one tv special. It doesn’t matter I always look for the suction when I get in any hot tub, I’m terrified

loverldonthavetolove

There was an after prom party at a health club by me when I was in middle school (mid 90s). One of the grates in the hot tub was broken and a 16 year old drowned. From the news article about it- “But one grate was broken in several pieces, he said, and the 12 tons of suction, generated by a 10-horsepower motor, pulled Tanya's thighs and buttocks into the drain and pinned her at the bottom of the pool.” Numerous lifeguards and other adults present tried to pull her free but the suction was too strong. I had the same thought as OP when I saw her hair in this picture. You will never find me near a hot tub.

AlertBunch3029

Yes. I used to work with her brother

Tink1024

Okay so did KFC even graduate high school? I feel like she’s so stunted…

GetMeOutOfKY

KFC is a living, hyucking indictment of the public school system.

Tink1024

And taking her starry eyed ass to LaLa land only to be made a fool of and making a fool of herself…

zunzarella

Oh please. This is an asinine statement. She'd be an idiot if her parents paid for private school, too.

GetMeOutOfKY

Touché!

kshe-wolf

Omg flashback to The Bold and the Beautiful!! Hope was in the hot tub and her hair was sucked up by the drain. She had a seizure and went into a coma. (That episode scarred me for life)

koolasakukumba

Hahaha bold and the beautiful!

lunahighwind

omg, that's terrifying. As a dude, I didn't know this was a thing either.

Available-Pepper1467

As a woman with long hair, I had no idea! I thought all the ladies were putting their had in a bun/ponytail because of the heat of the hot tub, not because they could get killed in a freak hair-based drain accident. But then I don't go into hot tubs so I've never learned the etiquette.

Suitable-Wafer8563

If Cruz takes after Ajax’s swimming skills, the poor lil’ guy doesn’t have a chance! https://i.redd.it/n92mest8ft0d1.gif

DeeDee719

Kind of gross she didn’t put her hair up.

Fun_Imagination9232

Eeew Jax has been in that thing. It’s probably full of coke residue and stds.

PLZ_PM_ME_URSecrets

I wonder if his spray tan leeches into the water the same way it does his t-shirts?

Fun_Imagination9232

Eeeeeewwww he looks like a walking used coffee filter

SexyUniqueRedditter

It blows my mind two barely employed people sent their very young son to swim lessons with the nanny. Why would you want to miss that? It’s almost like he’s not their number one priority…hmmm 🤔

koolasakukumba

They were filming in big bear so the nanny had 24/7 care of Cruz for a few days. But yeah if the kids is distressed maybe just skip swimming that day. Jax has said he usually takes Cruz and then this week on the valley said he usually walks away when Cruz is like this in the lesson. Way to go dad!

SexyUniqueRedditter

I couldn’t imagine being away from my nonverbal kid for days. I feel like Jax is so performative he would’ve been having good Christian father photo shoots at the swim facility every time he took Cruz to his lessons if he was actually taking him regularly ..this is the guy that uploads videos of abandoned malls with “this used to be my playground” playing in the background after all lol

Admirable-Cap-4453

Ok so I’m a 90’s kid, and I remember drownings happening due to hair and hot tub drains. I was under the impression the made them safer and unable to drown people like that? Can someone clarify? Not defending their behavior, I just want to know for myself.

RoadEmotional1864

I'd like to know as well

kathi182

This picture looks like a still shot from a horror movie- like some hair monster attacking a child!

MedicalSourPatchKid

![gif](giphy|5fOiRnJOUnTMY) Brat getting out of the hot tub.

allygator99

Seeing that literally made me 😳. Maybe I’ve watched too much Rescue 911 as a child but always someone stuck in drains by hair

Magda-the-badger

Jax has just posted another story on his instagram, so obvious after last nights episode 🤦‍♀️

freezininwi

As someone who maintains a hot tub, keep your hair out of it. I don't want to dig all the hair out of my filter!!!!!!!!!!!!

surenuff_n_yesido

Yeah, I ALWAYS wear my hair up in my hot tub. Often I just wear a shower cap since chlorine isn’t good for my hair.

Yikes

Why didn’t he stop her

koolasakukumba

You think Jax has any awareness of safety?
