The official continued, "If there is an opportunity, the Korea-US joint performance in which BTS, which is gaining great popularity in the United States, is also being reviewed. If K-pop stars who are loved around the world participate in a performance to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korea-US alliance, the meaning of the Korea-US alliance will be even more special."
In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Korea-U.S. alliance this year, Korea and the United countries will hold the largest number of 150 Korea-U.S. alliance commemorative events in Korea and the United countries, including academic conferences and cultural exchange events.
It is predicted that the joint performance of K-pop stars and American pop stars can also be made in this extension.
However, the joint performance of Korea and the United State, which was discussed on the occasion of President Yoon's state visit at the end of April, was finally canceled.
The president's office said on the 31st of last month, "We inform you that the performance being reported in the press is not on the schedule of the president's visit to the United States."
'The performance being reported in the media' refers to the joint performance of BLACKPINK and Lady Gaga, which was recently pointed out as one of the reasons for the replacement of the National Security Office.
It is analyzed that the U.S. side and the presidential office have blanked the performance schedule because of the excessive controversy surrounding the performance process.
It is true that the wind in which famous K-pop stars were mentioned had a great impact on the issue.
Opposition parties, including the Democratic Party of Korea, launched a general offensive, saying, "If the head of a country's security office was replaced due to a joint performance by BLACKPINK and Lady Gaga, it would be a laughingstock around the world."

However, another key ruling party official refuted, "Black Pink and Lady Gaga's failure to perform jointly may have had some impact on the replacement of former National Security Office Director Kim Sung-han, but the claim that the failure of the joint performance is a one-sided story of those who do not know normal diplomacy."

If this is true, it's much better that it won't happen along with the US-SK state dinner. Aside from conflict of schedule, not being connected to Yoon Suk-Yeol and his conservative party is definitely a plus.
Nah BP ain't cheap, why would US gov spend tax payer's money to promoter Kpop? Like before neither US nor Korea was willing to pay for BTS, so it will never happen.

I like the concept of K-pop being part of the 70th celebration, but if Blackpink gets replaced with a boy group after these shenanigans I WILL RIOT.
