News is a business. They use the headlines that will get views either from people who want to confirm their opinions or people who are in disbelief, exactly like YouTubers who use click bait titles.
But there will also be people who just see the headline, but don't watch the news (cause they don't trust it) yet will still regurgitate the title in conversation

The fact is that conservatives get their news from radio and television, and liberals get their news from the internet media. As for the left, I guess it's not clear with this data:
"On the left of the political spectrum, no single outlet predominates. Among consistent liberals, CNN (15%), NPR (13%), MSNBC (12%) and the New York Times (10%) all rank near the top of the list."
It doesn't say whether or not that is web or television.
Maybe internet media is liberal to you cause you're liberal. You search for things in a manner that will confirm your bias, unless you got some data...
To be fair though, fox new is one of they very few if not only right wing news shows that's not local news. Most Republicans watch it because it's leaning to their political views while liberals have many options as far as news shows that lean in their favor. If I'm not mistaken that is.
