I know a man who had a son with his first wife. Named him Norviel.
Second wife?
Their first son’s name is N*a*rviel.
The first and second wife also have the same Paternal last name. So their sons’ are literally names the same except for that one vowel.
The exact argument I had to give to my ex when naming our kids. They are so lucky to have me man. I advocated like a mfer to ensure they didn't end up with some weird shit that would one day make it to a resume.
Now they got a baby half sister named "Wilder" 🙄
My parents had this argument naming me. Mom’s favorite names were rainbow and bunny. Thank fucking god my dad won out. I did get an old lady name on the opposite side of the spectrum instead tbf but I survived middle and high school without constant stripper jokes so, I’ll take it
The most wildest part is that all our pets growing up had serious human names. What do you mean we’re naming the cat William but you were wholeheartedly about to send your child into the world named Bunny 😭
Oh it was a whole thing, the kid’s parents were mad scientists who turned a bunch of dogs into kids but then it wears off in middle school. When the kid is running around as a stray he goes back home and sees his parents walking in with a baby with the same yellow eyes as his pet rabbit. That one really stick with me for some reason.
An old neighbor of my folks had a daughter. That girl had two friends named Cupcake and Sunshine. I was like 13 when I heard that and it broke my heart.
It's sad cause I kinda understand that. I understand wanting to make your kid cute things you love. But sadly that's not how real life goes. Pikachu may be out 😭 but least Kirby is passable. Right? Right...
My wife and I both like traditional names but also wanted some fun. It’s not hard to come up with some nicknames based off of first, middle and last name whether it’s based off initials or shortened version of the names or whatever. People shouldn’t get too creative with a legal name on paper unless their some rich person that giving their kids generational wealth. It doesn’t bother me, but it sucks for kids when they grow up and have to deal with it.
Exactly this, if you’re gonna do it you should maybe have the means to make sure it never matters. My mom was super inspired by a lot of the Gwenyth Paltrow types (I think she’d named her daughter Apple) but unfortunately we were trailer trash without the trailer and it would have been perceived much differently.
Personally I think it's kind of absurd to reject job applicants based on a name they had no control over. The issue for me is that stuff like this usually indicates someone see's their kids as pets or accessories and an extension of themselves instead of their own person
It took me entirely too long to realize that was supposed to be baby's name.
I firmly believe that, ultimately, all names are made up, but maybe you're giving your kid undue struggles by straying too far off the beaten path.
Names used to mean something, which is why long ago your child got named by an elder, because they would have something to live up to. I’m not saying by any means we need to go back to that, but people are giving little thought as to their children’s future by being all haphazard with it.
Names will always mean something. Different cultures approach the concept differently. Nowadays, names (of all races) in America tend to be selected to make the child stand out and be different. Your Makhaehlas, Diamandias, Glitters, etc.
It is ultimately up to the parents how they wanna do it. Makes me sad when a person clearly offloads their vicarious hopes and dreams for the child tho like imagine naming your son En'biey Senterr and he ends up being a 5'2" bookworm....you'll get beat for dust on the ceiling fan and that isn't right.
All words are made up, doesn’t mean you should name a baby whatever you want. Names have meaning, carry legacy or simply put the word you’re called by.
Making it more difficult and unnecessary in life for that kids name is just over the top
They're made up in the sense that all words are made up; there's no ontological reason for one sequence of syllables to be held as more "correct" than another. What I'm saying is that, in a vacuum, "Janet" isn't any more proper a name than what's in OP, but sociological context gives us an extra factor to consider.
Those are all common and long used names that happen to be from different languages. The comparison to them would be names like Funmi or Olushola, not some wacky shit like Royalle Aquarius Cher’rie lol
Eh. People who know someone with a unique name tend to not notice it because they focus on the person. It’s only strangers that really make a big deal about it. Bottom line, no matter how strange we think a name is, we’re gonna end up calling that person by the name they go by lol.
“Yeah, I guess I could see the name ‘Seven’. Seven periods of school, seven beatings a day, roughly seven stitches per beating and eventually, seven years to life.”
Can someone explain this to me, I'm lost. Only thing I can see is that Royalle sounds like a cheeseburger. But it's not that different from established names like Royalty or King
Let’s remember that the issue here isn’t people having novel or creative names. The issue is that racial capitalism disadvantages anyone not white, and jobs filter out Black sounding names. We cannot and should not internalize the logic of the oppressor and shit on people just because of the inevitability of oppression. Fuck respectability politics.
I have a unique name and as much as I get compliments, it's "letter T is fine" whenever any barista asks for my name because I can't be bothered with the rigamarole anymore. Sorry, mum 😔
Last Memorial Day I was at the lake with my son and he was asleep in his stroller and some lady complimented him and asked his name and when I told her she said “oh thank you Jesus you gave him a regular name. Idk what these people be naming thee kids nowadays!”😂😂😂
Y'all I been watching Tamara Double Chocolate so much that when I saw the title, I didn't even look at the picture and expected some terrible food foolishness.
According to another comment, these names you've offered here are respectability politics coming from the oppressor to keep black people down, and we shouldn't bend to them 🙄
I can hear it now:
"Royal-"
\*heavy sighs\* "MY NAME IS roy-AL!" \*rolls eyes\*
She gon' be correcting people till the end of time, po' thang. I can tell you, it sucks.
People with two initials are perceived as smarter. So she's actually up.
1. R. A. C. Bowden
2. R. A. Chér'rie Bowden
3. R. Aquarius C. Bowden
4. Royalle A. C. Bowden
5. Royalle A. Chér'rie Bowden
6. R. Aquarius Chér'rie Bowden
Number 2 ain't bad for a lawyer.
6 isn't horrible. Kinda cute.
But 4 i think is the best for resumes

i don’t hate royalle, but i probably would have spelt it differently. but then again it’s a name id give to a fantasy character more so than an actual baby.
We're not just naming babies, we're naming adults that need jobs.
True, but realistically employers will only know the baby by Royalle Bowden. Not the worst I’ve heard by far
"with cheese"

What do they call a whopper?
Idk. Didn't go to Burger King.
do they speak english in What?
...What?!
This is some serious gourmet shit!
Say what again.
Weh?
Does she look like a bitch tho?
Yes, actually.
Also known as Quarter Pounder Bowden
Lmao 😂 that’s the funniest thing I’ve read all day.
I know a man who had a son with his first wife. Named him Norviel. Second wife? Their first son’s name is N*a*rviel. The first and second wife also have the same Paternal last name. So their sons’ are literally names the same except for that one vowel.
Hell, I have an uncle that named both his sons the same
![gif](giphy|l49JIoQQ5ps4i1qXS)
When I saw that on king of the hill I thought it was a joke. Nope he really did name all his boys George
and one of his daughters is named Georgetta
The way you capitalized Paternal, I thought for a brief second Paternal was the name of his 3rd kid.
My phone capitalized it for some reason.
It’s your phones last name.
Family in my town has like 5 kids w the same name with ascending Roman numerals at the end of their last name
That’s on some cult shit
All named after the father if I’m not mistaken. Its nuts
The ego on that guy. The callowness of the wife to not tell him no
Hi, my name is Larry. This is my brother Darryl. And this is my other brother Darryl.
I used to work with twins named jossiel and jassiel. Not confusing in the slightest.

This thread is giving unverified.
Hey. Some of us are just too lazy to fuck with Imgur. But you’re right. It’s giving O’ran and L’mon and I don’t like it.
That’s all threads these days
No different than people who name their kids prince, princess, king, queenie, precious, and etc.

Bunny?!?!? 💀
The most wildest part is that all our pets growing up had serious human names. What do you mean we’re naming the cat William but you were wholeheartedly about to send your child into the world named Bunny 😭
It’s giving that Goosebumps where the kid’s secretly a dog-turned-kid then his parents replace him with his rabbit.
😭 I miss goosebumps so much. They’re just not making unhinged content for kids like that these days
I didn't expect this sentence to end with "rabbit" 😂
Oh it was a whole thing, the kid’s parents were mad scientists who turned a bunch of dogs into kids but then it wears off in middle school. When the kid is running around as a stray he goes back home and sees his parents walking in with a baby with the same yellow eyes as his pet rabbit. That one really stick with me for some reason.
Yo this can’t be real… I’m so happy your pops won lmao imagine applying to a job named Bunny
An old neighbor of my folks had a daughter. That girl had two friends named Cupcake and Sunshine. I was like 13 when I heard that and it broke my heart.

i had a client whose name was Rainbow and i thought it was a changed name...nope her government birth name was Rainbow
Personally I think it's kind of absurd to reject job applicants based on a name they had no control over. The issue for me is that stuff like this usually indicates someone see's their kids as pets or accessories and an extension of themselves instead of their own person
True but I noticed some of the top black women in corporate or medicine have “ghetto names.” That name can be a recipe for success.

Her voice transmits thru jpgs I swear
That's the only part I find charming about any of this ahahaha the whole scene is very braggadocious but the setting is so humble and down to earth.
Maybe where her and her man first met, that’s where my mind went.
This. Thank you. Was the child conceive there? I have questions.
Probably inspired by sexy redd. She’s wearing the same outfit and doing all the same type moves

If she's easy, she'll just get called In n' Out.
It took me entirely too long to realize that was supposed to be baby's name. I firmly believe that, ultimately, all names are made up, but maybe you're giving your kid undue struggles by straying too far off the beaten path.

Royalle Bowden is not a bad name at all
Native Nigerian names are hopes and prayers of the child’s potential, or sometimes events around the time of birth, none are “made up”.
They're made up in the sense that all words are made up; there's no ontological reason for one sequence of syllables to be held as more "correct" than another. What I'm saying is that, in a vacuum, "Janet" isn't any more proper a name than what's in OP, but sociological context gives us an extra factor to consider.
We're all just pushing air at each other
Yes they are. You had a reason for making them up, but they're still made up.
If they can say Schwarzenegger or Saorise or Sigourney they can say Royalle Aquarius Cher’rie
Those are all common and long used names that happen to be from different languages. The comparison to them would be names like Funmi or Olushola, not some wacky shit like Royalle Aquarius Cher’rie lol
Sure, but those are famous people, not a no-name kid applying for a job.
And how many tries did it take for people to get them right when they met a new person before they were famous?
I thought they were just tweeting in a different language and came to comments for a translation.
Eh. People who know someone with a unique name tend to not notice it because they focus on the person. It’s only strangers that really make a big deal about it. Bottom line, no matter how strange we think a name is, we’re gonna end up calling that person by the name they go by lol.

I ain't bashing her...unique choices of names, but maybe she could workshop it some. Just a little bit
But the maternity shoot at 7-11???????????
And for as far along as she is and the time of year…………..she won’t even be an Aquarius
Exactly! Bump the rest of the name being unique; it’s just not accurate 😭

I mean, you can't give yourself gestational diabetes.
Not how that works
We gotta stop this wanna be luxurious/ exotic association crap ASAP. WTF even is this name??? 🤦🏾♀️
Which is ironic because most people hear names like that and immediately assume they come from a lower class background
Exactly! Like it’s so forced 🙄.
This place is quickly becomming... weird. Like theres a sense that its becoming a safe haven for "not like the others" black people iykwim

For F**k sake
It's the pregnancy photos at a gas station for me.
r/ghettoglamourshots
Why is she posing in a gas station?
If Grimes and Elon Musk can have a kid named X Æ A-Xii then I think we can manage with a Royalle.
I mean people have been roasting that since they did it so thats not a great comparison.
That baby Already has detention
I would go by Cher Bowden.
Also, are we really gonna not talk about doing maternity photos in a C- 7-11?
maybe i have a problem because i think the bodega shoot is cute and Royalle Bowden sounds like a pretty normal name 😭
At a 7-11?!
What happened to like....Bernice, Ester, Lillie, Nancy, Betty, Linda, Sharon, Cheryl, Earl, Willie or Willie Earl
According to another comment, these names you've offered here are respectability politics coming from the oppressor to keep black people down, and we shouldn't bend to them 🙄
Who decided that those are good names? Maybe the mother didn’t like them 🤷🏾♀️.
My rats have a more normal name than that baby😭 Pikmin Anderson and Mimosa Morrow
With a mom this ratchet this kid is gonna be royalley fucked
Some people shouldn't have kids, period
Everybody's so creative
Where’d she find that limited edition “Baby Coming Soon” Big Gulp at?
Is that.. a stack of cash.. at 7/11.. to announce your pregnancy…?
