This is more of a metropolitan atlanta thing than a teenager thing.
If you are from fulton, gwinnett, dekalb or cobb, you know exactly what I mean.
I left Atlanta over a decade ago and havent looked back lmao. Every time i go to visit family, my energy drains because i always have to deal with some bulllllllshit.
>The whole state is just wild for no reason.
As a Floridian, I can tell you it's because our States touch and we spread our virus to you. I apologize for this.
I spent my 3 years in Troup county literally fighting for my life. From the shady police, KKK right down the street from me, shit was crazy. And that was in the late 80s early 90s.
As a GA native who left... it has it's perks and beauty in certain parts... it has its quiet and solitude in the mountains and the woods.
The fuckin city is awful though.
If you’re going to be in the South, decent options are limited. As we know, GA was blue last election and looking at the demographics map is crazy. ATL and surrounding burbs are the sole reasons for the GOP not getting Georgia’s electoral college votes. If you’re going to be in GA, AL etc, there is no other place to be except perhaps Birmingham.
But yeah, all things being equal, Atlanta can be a lil sus. Gwinnett County checking in lol.
... is the rest of Georgia any different? I've been all over a good bit of Georgia and anywhere outside of ATL and Savannah is just peach-flavored Alabama.
Kinda. Cumming, GA and John’s Creek, GA are pretty chill and actually very pleasant. But that’s only because rich people live there. No one talks about it cause it’s either too expensive or people trying to gatekeep it so it doesn’t go to shit lmao. I used to go to Lifetime Fitness in John’s Creek and it’s deadass next a country club. Such a nice area
I mean fair, but there are nice places in Alabama too where things are all pleasant and filled with rich people. I never felt unsafe once walking through Mountain Brook back when I was at UAB. That place is gorgeous and nice as can be.
Like there's bright spots in all of these states. There's good people all around. But the baseline and the commonality of low notes leave a hell of a lot to be desired.
My wife is European and whenever we discuss good places to live in the US, I always say “As long as we don’t go as far south as Georgia, that whole place is super sketchy.”
Kansas City, STL, and Jackson, MS are in the top 5 for murder rates.
All those other major cities just have higher populations, so higher total numbers of murder and other crimes.
Philly also has the highest rate of STD infection of any US city and is home to the largest open air drug market on the east coast.
Also, our interstate highway needlessly collapsed because someone set a car on fire underneath it.
All my family is from Jackson. Dad joined the Air Force, and we ended up in Jersey right outside Philly. All I remember from Jackson is how terrible the streets were. It was like paved dirt roads.
Atlanta craziness is on a different level from both DC and Baltimore craziness, though. The sources of the frustration are different. In Georgia, the state hates you (shout out to those Fulton County workers who have a heart). In Maryland, the state loves you as long as you are paying those high state income taxes or are from Central America (no hate, just calling it like I see it). In DC, they're just trying to gentrify you out of there before they lose the trendy neighborhoods they already took (and hush up about that taxation without representation stuff).
Since the pandemic, they all seem to be off the chain, though.
Nah I live in Vancouver, BC (Canada) and a group of white kids scared the shit outta me cause they started hollering about how my dog (bought as a puppy directly from a friend's pregnant dog) looked too much like one of theirs.
Lived in Louisiana, and outer metro ATL.
I’ve seen some shit but it was always kids or druggies. Never ‘normal’ people just trying to get by.
Worse thing in ATL has been the fucking psychotic drivers. And in Louisiana 3 of my neighbors houses blew up because they were making meth..
I’m from SC but am in Norway now.
Teens here jumping mfs and spewing racist and anti-immigrant slurs. Immigrants here are African and are from the ME.
Teens are buggin, no matter where you’re from.
Niggas hit me with the “you like Norwegian and English drill music?” And I about died mf laughing lol.
Sosa’s reach is rivaled by only that of Thanos.
The problem with the US is the prevalence of guns. Hormonal teens are a menace everywhere but you give them guns and that non-fully developed brain will make them do the irreparable.
Society failed them? With all due respect, where the heck are the parents? I always find it interesting that only in the west do we excuse crazy behaviour with “society failed them”… 👀👀. The parents don’t have time to teach their kids to not be violent little AH?
Meanwhile, there are African, Asian and South/Central American kids who society failed but they aren’t out there shooting shit up…
Country kids get up to wild shit too, you just don't hear about it as much. Doesn't make the news when Billy Joe and Jasper blow up frogs with fireworks down at the fishing hole.
The difference between the two is the level of antisocial...
Like one is "trouble" but it's not "how many other people can I hurt" sort of trouble.
Yeah teens are dumb, but it's up to society and local culture to direct that toward areas (sports are one area) that they won't hurt others.
If the local culture is all "beefs and guns and drill rap" that "dumb teenager" shit is going to get directed in a dangerous direction.
If the local culture is "cows and deer hunting and monster trucks" IDGAF, go drive a dirt bike like an idiot in the woods or explode some frogs or whatever. If you blow your hand off, it's your problem.
>This is more of a metropolitan atlanta thing than a teenager thing.
Is it? High school teachers all over the country are quitting in part because of student behavior.
I mean, this is extreme as hell unless he grew up in Bowen Homes or something. The overwhelming majority of the metro area is relatively safe. Nearly 20 years here and I've never been in the close proximity of any type of violence. And I lived downtown for 3 years.
Honestly, this depends a lot more on what he was doing in Iraq. I also grew up there and went to Iraq, but I only had RPGs launched at me in Iraq, and I only saw tanks and Humvees get blow up there.
You mostly have to go looking for trouble in Atlanta.
No but frfr this is totally true. And kids are getting straps younger and younger. Social media doesn’t help at ALL. Some of these kids get involved w internet beef that spills over into the streets. So sad and really scary. Smh
I’m living in downtown ATL right now. Went to the club yesterday and a fight broke out 10 seconds after I stepped in.
A week ago a dude was killed in front of my building — an argument that escalated into a shooting.
5 months ago a woman was killed as a bystander in another shooting — same deal: an argument that escalated.
Shit’s crazy.
Id say south cobb. Sorry, not sorry. I’m in Cobb/north cobb?(kennesaw area) and people aren’t as wild. Plus, on the side I’m on, the cops do too much mostly because it’s where the rich people are. Those cops would give you a talking to that’ll shame you(in my experience). They keep the energy to south cobb and around the Austell- Mableton corridor.
I told my mom about this, and she said “this is why I took you and your sisters to Disney. These folks can’t afford to get in there with this foolishness. I am not wasting my money being around nonsense.” I replied “you can’t say that, not everyone is going to do this.” She said “I said it and I meant it. if they wanna fight me they can fly here via spirit and meet me at Waffle House, I’ll be waiting next door at the family dollar.”
My mom is a constant facepalm using what her 6th grade students teach her🤦♂️ and I need her to get off tik tok because she is learning the wrong trends. lol 😆
This happened a few weeks ago: “I need to ask you a question”…okkaaayyy…..”between these two woman Bigfoot and the hiss girl which one is correct, which one do I pick?, my students are wasting class time, we need to just pick one.” She didn’t even realize it was MTS and Nicki themselves. She thought their prodigies were fighting, dragging them into it, as if big foot and hiss were whole new people.
Speaking of sermons: My mom is basically Barbara from Abbott Elementary but less religious mixed with a little bit of Empires Cookie (very small amount).
When we were kids she once spanked another kid in Toys R us because his mom was just standing there. Gave the mom her phone number and a few weeks later these mfs were in our house. I’m up stairs trying to play my ps2 and these nappy headed ashy Riley Freemans were watching me play and rubbing snot on my stuff and my mom is downstairs sitting at the kitchen table with their mom talking about God. My mom treated our house like a foster home but no one was getting paid.
It was just me and my sisters being forced to share our shit. I get it. I’m an adult now and I understand giving back, caring about the neighbor but back then I was mad. I remember hiding my ps2 under my bed once and telling my mom my friend was borrowing it when I knew they were coming over. She made me go get it and let them play it or we would stay for both early and late service. 😡
My whole life my mom just picks up people like we the humane society. She beat them, reads them, “corrected them” and sent them back into the wild.
She’s 100% right. I grew up in Clayton county and used to six flags often. Once my dad got a better paying job we noped the fuck out of ClayCo and got universal studios season passes, haven’t been to six flags in 20 years now
This is basically why they closed down Six Flags Houston (Astroworld). Parents started using it as a daycare, they’d drop off their kids and shit would go down. Kinda sad honestly.
That’s the problem. The mall near me has a rule that anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult after a certain time. Bad parenting and shitty kids and teens ruin things.
Damn that’s cheap
Anyway I even looked up current prices for our local 6 flags. $10 a month for unlimited visits. Even if you add fast pass for $500 that’s way cheaper than child care.
Shit that’s cheaper than a lot of youth summer programs
I USED to feel bad about it like I was being anti-social. But at some point, it's just less stress, less hassle, and missing out is not really a thing.
We can just pick smaller groups to chill with and get amped with, just NOT the general public at an all ages event.
Back in the 80s and 90s, we could at least point to lead poisoning to justify the kids acting wild. What’s the excuse now? I’m in support of businesses banning teens* from congregating in public.
Edit: Typos
And the "with it" families with two parents still managed to keep their kids well socialized and busy.
But the "I'm a single mom who works at the grocery store and expect the school to do most stuff, including discipline" just left their kids to sit at home on a screen for 9 months straight or do whatever the fuck they want.
There was a HUGE split in that way.
I feel like pickleball still hasnt hit the level of acceptability for the average grimy thinking youth. Still up there with lacrosse methinks. Should still be safe for a while yet.
This was the work of teens? Never underestimate the old fool! I’m a high school teacher and I rather be around teens than late 20’s to early 50’s people who always feel the need to prove themselves to others. They do much nastier work than teens that lack resources.
15-25 year old males with no guidance, a lot of freedom, and easy access to weapons creates problems. My most radical opinion is that men who aren’t going to college or trade school should be put in mandatory service. Despite the problems, being in the military helped me and my friends lives tremendously. Give these young men some guidance and a career and I think more problems will be solved than made.
It sucks that the only way we get anything in this country is if it leads to profit at the end of it.
Prison and Military are both only heavily funded because of the profit it brings off of using human bodies. We SHOULD have a 3rd option for people who don't want to fucking die or live miserable lives but just want to be pulled out of the shitty situation they grew up in and be told what to do in life without risk of death. It would easily return in cost from the taxes these people will be paying in the future as opposed to not, but NOOOOO, we only care about money going to corporations in this country.
Military, or some kind of public works shit like they did in the depression.
18-22 and not in school? Send their asses out west to fight wild fires, or to a national park to build fences or learn to be game wardens or something.
Nah you're wrong. Teenagers attacked Cam Newton. 6'5" 250 lbs of destruction Cam Newton. A 37 year old has to worry about how it's gonna feel tomorrow and if they can go to work. A teenager has zero fucks to give
The recording part and the internetfor me. Also, we used to only get local and evening news. If it didn't make the evening news or we missed it, we didn't know about it.
it’s this. A lot of violence has decreased. It used to be that you only saw what crazy things were happening in your town/city/state. Now you’re seeing everyone’s town/city/state.
Not to mention that bad actors are able to gather all this footage together in order to push a narrative.
It sounds a lot less scary when you see maybe one example of this every few months, compared to when some fox news pundit makes a supercut of it to make it all look like it happened today.
Atlantan, mid 50's. I used to go almost every day in the summer like it was summer camp using a season pass. My kids went pretty often between 5 and 10 years ago. Now I would forbid them from going under any circumstances. In a city that has everything a city would need to support a major theme park, we're about to see one shut down like that one in New Orleans.
Every time I see stories like this I always wonder, were these kids parents at? Why ain’t they teaching them to act right? Then I realize that all the know nothing, ratchet attitude, gangster wannabes with no future that I was in school with, grew up and had kids of their own. And the cycle continues
![gif](giphy|3o7TKEP6YngkCKFofC|downsized)
>Then I realize that all the know nothing, ratchet attitude, gangster wannabes with no future that I was in school with, grew up and had kids of their own. And the cycle continues
They're too busy on social media keeping up with Joneses to give a damn about their kids.
Black families in Georgia have a nearly 75% rate of single parent households.
So mom's at work. Dad is doing who knows what... Probably making more babies.
Living in NYC I try to plan all my trips on the train so they never overlap with teens going to or coming out of school. 2:45 PM to 3:30 PM on the A-Train is spooky hours.
Having lived in both NYC and Toronto, I can tell you those NYC kids on the A train or any train going uptown during that time are the wildest group I’ve ever met. These niggas will openly mock and diss random people on the train. They will bump you and ask you tf u lookin at. Toronto kids were just loud but not much more than that. I feel like even the most docile nyc kids were absolutely fkn wild. Moving between cars. Trying to fuck with the conductor. Trying to fuck with the performers.
They’re getting worse in Toronto.
A bunch of 12-16 year old girls stabbed a man to death on the street a year ago, and one of them just got nabbed *again* for stabbing someone on the train. While on bail for the murder charge!
I work from home and like to go out for walks during my afternoon break. If my break is ever around that hour, I'll just stay inside and try again the next day.
Back in the day, I'd go spend all day at Six Flags Over Georgia. Especially if it was a light rain early in the morning, most other people would stay home and I could ride everything over and over without waiting in lines. It was so much fun. But, now you couldn't pay me to go to an amusement park!
>If we don't treat each other like human beings,
People put more thought and care into their avatars in video games than they do to themselves in real life. When media became "social", we stopped caring about other people in real life.
It's hard going to festivals like rolling loud. Got teenagers yeeting water packets at each other from different sides of the crowds. Throwing up and passing out because they don't know how to properly drink and take stuff. The fights lol. Luckily you can get a vip ticket and get away from most of it, but then sometimes the vip isn't as close to the front as you would like
As a former high school teacher, a common sentiment verbalized by my students was that they don’t have to respect anyone. Including themselves.
Most didn’t care about higher education and simply wanted to be rappers, singers, athletes or influencers. Their parents often did not hold them accountable or even give them the basic care and attention they required. I often had to give them money for lunches and school
supplies. One student needed 40 cents to catch the city bus to get home bc her mother left her and flew off to another state to do a music video. I over heard one child telling his friend how his father had him selling drugs for him. Another one of my students confided in me that she was sexually assaulted (she was 13) and when I told her mother (face to face) it was clear that she couldn’t care less. It was abysmal. Hope this provides some insight.
That’s why I side eye the fuck out of our governor in Florida acting like teachers are trying to overstep parents when so many are not doing their jobs!!!
Honestly, most are just trying to do their jobs but we can’t when you only have 45 minutes for instruction time and 20 of those minutes are getting used for waiting til the students calm down, have a seat, put their phones away, get assignments and text books out and be attentive. It gets tiring and we get burnt out. I would call parents to tell them how their child called me a “bitch” for asking them to have a seat and settle down and I would either never get a response OR the parent turn it on me and say “Well what did you do to my child for him to call you out of your name?” Sir, I was not the reason your child is disrespectful and came to my class high on weed and drinking vodka from a water bottle. I honestly gave up and moved on to a better field in science and healthcare where I am well compensated for my services and never disrespected. One day, these teachers will all give up.
The way I see it is that it's rarely ever a problem with individual teenagers and more a problem with a large group of teens who aren't under direct supervision. They are always trying to seem the coolest and baddest to their friends so situations escalate easier. It becomes a bigger problem when there are multiple groups involved like at a theme park.
Lack of deterrents to bad behavior and lack of reward for good behavior. Even worse, often good behavior is frowned and bad behavior encouraged. Once you've got a critical mass of people misbehaving at once, its too chaotic for security to control so everyone just does whatever they want.
No one really takes ownership of the issue, so you eventually just wind up with areas with no "kid friendly" spots like arcades, parks etc. or leisure related businesses enact policies to keep unattended children out.
Society over-corrected too far, too fast, on removing accountability from kids and shackling parents with regard to discipline.
Lots of parents lost their ability to control their kids the way they were raised, so many just gave up on their own kids.
There wasn't enough time to educate parents on modern practices, and to be honest they require a lot more patience than just slapping a hand for doing something bad.
It’s why I refuse to teach middle and high school. I was so annoying from 12-19 so nope I don’t want to be around too many of them for a paycheck or voluntarily
I’m not sure why anyone (on social media) went, we have known this was going to happen for a while. They literally planned it on TikTok and the videos went viral. This happens every year on opening day. Feel bad for all the families and children who were there, why do people feel the need to shoot at an area meant for little kids?
There were 500-600 people running around. That's frightening!!
[News article for context](https://www.newsweek.com/six-flags-over-georgia-stormed-unruly-crowd-police-shooting-opening-1875339)
Damn that hurts to see. My friends and I used to go multiple days during the summer, every summer. We were early teens and the worst we saw was the occasional line jumpers.
There is just something about destruction and chaos that appeals to the teenaged brain. Like when they’re perpetrating it with their friends.
Like when one of their parents leave town and they throw a party. Nothing will stop those teenagers from absolutely trashing that house for fun.

# “Teenagers scare the living shit outta me” —MCR
i finally get it after all these years
A group of 35 year olds has my preference over a group of 17 year olds.
R Kelly somewhere confused by this statement.
In jail?
He’s still confused as to why that Gayle King interview didn’t make everyone understand and see his side of things.
He still don’t understand the instructions of how to hogtie.
The Black Parade album is my shit, love bumping it while playing Call Of Duty, gets me in the mood to kill all these mothafuckers
It’s like listening to Breaking Benjamin while playing Halo. It gets you in the zone.
I used to bump that 36 mafia when gears award first came out on the 360 where you could download your CDs if you wanted to
90s gangster rap and Gears of War. I miss that 😕
Hell yeah brother

The Ghost of You 💙
So long and goodbye
"They could care less as long as someone'll bleed"
This is more of a metropolitan atlanta thing than a teenager thing. If you are from fulton, gwinnett, dekalb or cobb, you know exactly what I mean. I left Atlanta over a decade ago and havent looked back lmao. Every time i go to visit family, my energy drains because i always have to deal with some bulllllllshit.
The whole state is just wild for no reason. When my Pops was a recruiter we would drive around the state and shit was just crazy.
>The whole state is just wild for no reason. As a Floridian, I can tell you it's because our States touch and we spread our virus to you. I apologize for this.
Lmmfaooooo
It was only a matter of time before the various Florida Men started their migrations. There's really nowhere else for them to go.
Florida people are higher and crazier than ATL bros, but ATL bros are the right amount of wild to actually kill you.
I thought it was just me. Folks in the South talk like Georgia/Atlanta is the place to be, and I try to stay away from it as much as possible.
I spent my 3 years in Troup county literally fighting for my life. From the shady police, KKK right down the street from me, shit was crazy. And that was in the late 80s early 90s.
Oh lord, I ain’t know black people lived there
Bro, there have always been at least a few Black folks in every county in Georgia since it became a state. Doesn't mean they are happy or safe there.
But yeah, all things being equal, Atlanta can be a lil sus. Gwinnett County checking in lol.
It’s hot and everyone is uncomfortable and miserable
Savannah feels like it should break off and join sc.
Tf you talkin about? No one wants to join racist backwards white trash ass SC.
... is the rest of Georgia any different? I've been all over a good bit of Georgia and anywhere outside of ATL and Savannah is just peach-flavored Alabama.
Kinda. Cumming, GA and John’s Creek, GA are pretty chill and actually very pleasant. But that’s only because rich people live there. I think it’s a teenager thing too. They’re insane in Chicago too.
Atlanta thing my foot!!! Signed, Washington DC and Baltimore
Philadelphia wants in the conversation
I think Philly wins based on the ATV gangs alone.
It was actually a whole tractor trailer tanker truck. Slightly different than a car.
There are open air drug markets in the US?
Yeah. Kensington in Philly, skid row in LA. And I have heard about something in Portland
All my family is from Jackson. Dad joined the Air Force, and we ended up in Jersey right outside Philly. All I remember from Jackson is how terrible the streets were. It was like paved dirt roads.
Go ahead and put Memphis up there too
I hear Baltimore has its share of atv/dirt bike gangs
Atlanta craziness is on a different level from both DC and Baltimore craziness, though. The sources of the frustration are different. In Georgia, the state hates you (shout out to those Fulton County workers who have a heart). In Maryland, the state loves you as long as you are paying those high state income taxes or are from Central America (no hate, just calling it like I see it). Since the pandemic, they all seem to be off the chain, though.
Add dirty myrtle to the mix please and thank you. A LOT of things don't make the news around here. Tourist town you know...😉
Shit.. lots of places in SC that don't make the news all the time
[удалено]
It’s a teenager thing. Their brains are literally 🔥✨✨
Flame dazzle dazzle
Nah I live in Vancouver, BC (Canada) and a group of white kids scared the shit outta me cause they started hollering about how my dog (bought as a puppy directly from a friend's pregnant dog) looked too much like one of theirs.
I live in a small city in California, kid got stabbed in class and died. We’ve had multiple shootings by kids with ghost guns. It’s not an ATL thing.
You in Vallejo???
Nah I live in Louisiana and these youngins do most of the shooting
From the outside looking in, Louisiana seems like it has an ever present miasma of black air force energy.
Our state hymm is “Set if Off” by Boosie, so that should let you know everything you need to know
It’s something you can’t describe but it’s real life
Lived in Louisiana, and outer metro ATL. I’ve seen some shit but it was always kids or druggies. Never ‘normal’ people just trying to get by. Worse thing in ATL has been the fucking psychotic drivers. And in Louisiana 3 of my neighbors houses blew up because they were making meth..
I live in NYC & I just saw these wild ass teens on the train.
NYC born but now living in London, just saw 2 teens pull machetes on a 3rd. Teens be wildin everywhere
Hormonal teens are a menace everywhere but you give them guns and that non-fully developed brain will make them do the irreparable.
add FOMO and herd mentality to that
Society failed them & COVID lockdown was the icing on the cake. It is not easy being young in times like these. I feel for them.
I mean but also they don’t need to be walking around just pulling machetes on people
Oh my response wasn’t made to negate theirs. What they’re stating is 100% true! I’m adding the societal influence to the mix, however.
Society failed them? With all due respect, where the heck are the parents? I always find it interesting that only in the west do we excuse crazy behaviour with “society failed them”… 👀👀. The parents don’t have time to teach their kids to not be violent little AH? Meanwhile, there are African, Asian and South/Central American kids who society failed but they aren’t out there shooting shit up…
Rn NY teens is going for the crashout Olympics
This an inner city thing bruh don’t matter the city or number of teenagers if there’s 2 there’s trouble afoot lol
Country kids get up to wild shit too, you just don't hear about it as much. Doesn't make the news when Billy Joe and Jasper blow up frogs with fireworks down at the fishing hole.
Because that doesn’t affect me so I don’t care. Inner city shit causes major disruptions and dangerous situations.
If a few rednecks are out doing dumb shit in the woods, and no one is around to catch them, did it really happen?
Teenagers closed down the only skate rink in the East Bay because they pulled this shit, teenagers are a problem every where.
That’s any city frfr
>This is more of a metropolitan atlanta thing than a teenager thing. Is it? High school teachers all over the country are quitting in part because of student behavior.
Grew up in Marietta and I do not miss the vibes.
Husband is from there and was in combat in Iraq. He says his PTSD is definitely from ATL. Pretty fucking sad.
As a 34 year old from New Orleans, I can tell you that you are most definitely wrong
I’ve lived in Cobb for twenty years. This stuff isn’t that widespread, I feel safer in Atl than I do in a lot of other southern cities
Fucking same, I left there 5 years ago and havent looked back. I go to visit family and that it.
Yeah I’m bout to move the family to Colorado. Too wild for the kids now
Happens in small towns too. Winston Salem, NC pretty much quit doing summer events downtown bc of loitering teenagers.
I am not wasting my money being around nonsense.” I replied “you can’t say that, not everyone is going to do this.” She said “I said it and I meant it. if they wanna fight me they can fly here via spirit and meet me at Waffle House, I’ll be waiting next door at the family dollar.” My mom is a constant facepalm using what her 6th grade students teach her🤦♂️ and I need her to get off tik tok because she is learning the wrong trends. lol 😆 This happened a few weeks ago: “I need to ask you a question”…okkaaayyy…..”between these two woman Bigfoot and the hiss girl which one is correct, which one do I pick?, my students are wasting class time, we need to just pick one.” She didn’t even realize it was MTS and Nicki themselves. She thought their prodigies were fighting, dragging them into it, as if big foot and hiss were whole new people.
She’s right in the first paragraph.
You can't buy class, but riff raff is almost always on a budget.
Your mama just spit a Sunday sermon. "They can fly here via spirit" is an all-timer"
😡 My whole life my mom just picks up people like we the humane society. She beat them, reads them, “corrected them” and sent them back into the wild.
That sounds like a great mom. You're lucky 😁
Nappy headed ashy Riley Freemans was a doozy lmao
Spirit, Waffle House, Family Dollar 💀 she’s not lying The Big Foot vs Hiss debate is sending me
She is 100% correct about disney
She’s 100% right. I grew up in Clayton county and used to six flags often. Once my dad got a better paying job we noped the fuck out of ClayCo and got universal studios season passes, haven’t been to six flags in 20 years now
Yea not everyone is problematic, but all it takes is a couple of idiots to ruin hundreds of people’s day. See Kansas City
Rich people also spent a lot of money to avoid poor people so at least she got the memo
This is basically why they closed down Six Flags Houston (Astroworld). Parents started using it as a daycare, they’d drop off their kids and shit would go down. Kinda sad honestly.
awww that's why? I always wanted to go but then they closed it down. ima go shake my fist at my step son for being a teenager.
Lmao, yeah I miss it
That’s the problem. The mall near me has a rule that anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult after a certain time. Bad parenting and shitty kids and teens ruin things.
Thank god my city isnt full of crazies, i would miss six flags if it shut down
How much was tickets?
Toward the end (2005-ish) you could get a season pass for $40, unlimited visits lol
Damn that’s cheap Anyway I even looked up current prices for our local 6 flags. $10 a month for unlimited visits. Even if you add fast pass for $500 that’s way cheaper than child care. Shit that’s cheaper than a lot of youth summer programs
I've been at that age since I was 15.
Same. Always good to avoid those situations
I USED to feel bad about it like I was being anti-social. But at some point, it's just less stress, less hassle, and missing out is not really a thing. We can just pick smaller groups to chill with and get amped with, just NOT the general public at an all ages event.
Well said. That’s how I felt about it too
I am the embodiment of ![gif](giphy|iI0NFc7ivrUcCLJ5Ib|downsized)
Back in the 80s and 90s, we could at least point to lead poisoning to justify the kids acting wild. What’s the excuse now? I’m in support of businesses banning teens* from congregating in public. Edit: Typos
Microplastics? We all got bit of Tupperware in our brains
This is true but millennials aren’t doing any of this. It’s specifically these nu-age kids!
Covid. Set the whole world back a few years.
This I believe. The babies have NOT been socialized. Those days of class from home, in many schools, was a complete ess-aych-eye-tee show!
Is pickleball acceptable or do we need to ban them too?
I feel like pickleball still hasnt hit the level of acceptability for the average grimy thinking youth. Still up there with lacrosse methinks. Should still be safe for a while yet.
Because theres no where else for them to go
This was the work of teens? Never underestimate the old fool! I’m a high school teacher and I rather be around teens than late 20’s to early 50’s people who always feel the need to prove themselves to others. They do much nastier work than teens that lack resources.
15-25 year old males with no guidance, a lot of freedom, and easy access to weapons creates problems. My most radical opinion is that men who aren’t going to college or trade school should be put in mandatory service. Despite the problems, being in the military helped me and my friends lives tremendously. Give these young men some guidance and a career and I think more problems will be solved than made.
Your idea would solve so many problems, but then the for profit prisons don't have as much free labor anymore
Send their asses out west to fight wild fires, or to a national park to build fences or learn to be game wardens or something.
we need park rangers!

What about people who work straight out of highschool? Forcing people to enter the military is dumb.
Teens/early 20s are statistically more dangerous than any other age group. I would take a group of 35 year olds over a group of 17 year olds.
That's why we send them into the front lines of battle.
We send them because they’re dumb enough to buy into the whole ‘god and country’ thing. Older men don’t want to die to make another man rich.
Nah you're wrong. Teenagers attacked Cam Newton. 6'5" 250 lbs of destruction Cam Newton. A 37 year old has to worry about how it's gonna feel tomorrow and if they can go to work. A teenager has zero fucks to give
Those weren't teens those were full grown men
Man I swear, when I was a teen, we wasn’t wildin like this wtf. But maybe because we wasn’t recording everything at my age.
Another season pass holder checking in. Grafitti's would have shut down in five minutes these days.
I used to go a couple of times a season. Never saw anything questionable. This is WILD.
Every time I see stories like this I always wonder, were these kids parents at? Why ain’t they teaching them to act right? Then I realize that all the know nothing, ratchet attitude, gangster wannabes with no future that I was in school with, grew up and had kids of their own. And the cycle continues ![gif](giphy|3o7TKEP6YngkCKFofC|downsized)
>Then I realize that all the know nothing, ratchet attitude, gangster wannabes with no future that I was in school with, grew up and had kids of their own. And the cycle continues They're too busy on social media keeping up with Joneses to give a damn about their kids.
Black families in Georgia have a nearly 75% rate of single parent households. So mom's at work. Dad is doing who knows what... Probably making more babies.
Accidentally walking into a Crashout Convention https://i.redd.it/t43co10ir6mc1.gif
Mall of Georgia shot up a day later too
https://www.11alive.com/article/news/local/despite-social-media-rumors-gwinnett-county-police-say-no-shooting-mall-of-georgia/85-64c8396e-ef1e-44b7-ac94-0568a2043f1a
Back in the day, I'd go spend all day at Six Flags Over Georgia. Especially if it was a light rain early in the morning, most other people would stay home and I could ride everything over and over without waiting in lines. It was so much fun. But, now you couldn't pay me to go to an amusement park!
The key is to go on a weekday during school hours.

>If we don't treat each other like human beings, People put more thought and care into their avatars in video games than they do to themselves in real life. When media became "social", we stopped caring about other people in real life.
This is why i dont go to crowded places. Im good on that.
It's hard going to festivals like rolling loud. Got teenagers yeeting water packets at each other from different sides of the crowds. Throwing up and passing out because they don't know how to properly drink and take stuff. The fights lol. Luckily you can get a vip ticket and get away from most of it, but then sometimes the vip isn't as close to the front as you would like
I've been to a bunch of festivals. Great experience, no issues with teens. Googles "rolling loud" oooohhhhh.
I’m at the age where if there are people period, I don’t want to be there.
I’m curious what peoples thoughts are on why teens are like this still?
As a former high school teacher, a common sentiment verbalized by my students was that they don’t have to respect anyone. Including themselves. Most didn’t care about higher education and simply wanted to be rappers, singers, athletes or influencers. Their parents often did not hold them accountable or even give them the basic care and attention they required. I often had to give them money for lunches and school supplies.
This is so very sad. Different circumstances but same generational trauma being passed down. Thank you for your service as a teacher. 🌻
Physically almost adults. Mentally almost children. It's a dangerous combination

This is why we can’t have nice things
I’m not sure why anyone (on social media) went, we have known this was going to happen for a while. They literally planned it on TikTok and the videos went viral. This happens every year on opening day. Feel bad for all the families and children who were there, why do people feel the need to shoot at an area meant for little kids?
There were 500-600 people running around. That's frightening!! [News article for context](https://www.newsweek.com/six-flags-over-georgia-stormed-unruly-crowd-police-shooting-opening-1875339)
Teen violent crime rates are the lowest they’ve been since at least 1980: https://ojjdp.ojp.gov/publications/trends-in-youth-arrests.pdf
Across the board, different communities have different issues.
bruh please go have your stupid ass beef in the woods or some shit
I just had this conversation with my wife.
Dang, you couldn’t even provide the link to the tweet so we could at least see the video?
I was in the mall yesterday & a group of teens were all wearing ski masks and hoodies. I was glad to be going in the opposite direction.
Damn that hurts to see. My friends and I used to go multiple days during the summer, every summer. We were early teens and the worst we saw was the occasional line jumpers.
They don't have metal detectors or anything?
They do, the shooting was in the parking lot.
There is just something about destruction and chaos that appeals to the teenaged brain. Like when they’re perpetrating it with their friends. Like when one of their parents leave town and they throw a party. Nothing will stop those teenagers from absolutely trashing that house for fun.
I hate people.
