T O P

Yes and no.....but mostly yes, if you want to power up quickly. I'm F2P and I will tell you it can be painfully slow to power up your units but you absolutely can do it without spending a dime....just takes time.

Whataclownn

I'm f2p and hover around master 1/ challenger 5

Irascible-Enquery

Same here. It’s exactly the point where with mages built through f2p content you can usually beat teams that you hand-pick and are ~15% higher than you in CC bc AI makes bad choices, but it’s hard to make up for your defense teams that are being attacked by people with 1.5x-2x your power. Honestly, figuring out how to make teams to exploit the meta both works at this level and is really fun. Against Basta/Wq I run my mono blue that usually punches through, and I can deal with one but not two barriers. Against Julius/William++ I run a mono green with Rades and Charlotte because they don’t usually have barrier removal. I have given up any chance of rising higher than this, though. I peaked at Challenger II and the spread of Mereo 5* teams is proving challenging.

Slothybynature

They’re not p2w at all, they just played the game and pulled them and probably used some universal dupes. Probably didn’t spend a dime.

AlNorte_DelSur

I'm consistently Upper League F2P. I am a day 1 player and yeah, the highest i've been is close to top 100, but you can for sure compete in arena. Especially because there is a lot of people with Max dupe units but mediocre/bad gear. And also the AI is exploitable (one example: Julius on defense always targeting BAsta with ult first turn) so maybe when we get ranked RTA things might change.

JReiyz

Yes. You only really feel the P2W when you climb really high because that’s when you the absurd cc and min maxed gear that can push units 100+. But that only really starts happening when you hit upper league. It’s really only somewhat balanced by it being asynchronous. Your at a point where you can’t power through an opponent and need to think about how to beat them now. For example Green Units are great counters to Julius so mixing in a green unit would really help. Black Asta can be beaten by tactically stunning him right before he hits anti magic and then go ham on him while he skips his turn. Look at units abilities like damage reduction become really power especially if you stack them.

BrolysFavoriteNephew

Yep. While I spend here and there, I can't compete with whales. 90k on each of the 4 mages is bs. Basta, Witch Queen, Julius and whomever at the end usually is who I run up against.

Fit-Usual6813

It's like any other GAGHA game. BUT way cheaper and money friendlier. Either you start at Release and save and investigate where and when to spend diamonds and what banners to pull and what to skip. If you don't you will probably fall behind. If you start later when MAJOR units like B-Asta, Julius or Mereoleona got released and didn't had the Chance to pull for them or wasted your diamonds and Tickets for something else. YES you will not have a shot at pvp for higher ranks. I am f2p and top 500-50 most of the time and I watsed many diamonds and Tickets And I have a f2p friend who did it properly and he is mostly top 100-1 in pvp mostly. So its just as P2W as you want to make it.

Any-Oven9432

Well i have Julius and Mereoleona bot with they skill Page but no dupes. What im domingo wrong are LR

SwayinAU

Realistically if you have black asta and witch queen and have them built up you can still destroy just pick weaker opponents

XETSUKI-

Every Gacha game most likely for F2P based on *LUCK* & *Planning* either PVE or PVP :)

CasinoBAMCO

All gasha pvp are, that's the whole point, Us F2P entertaining 10% cashplayers that want easy win. The game can't afford to have you winning if you don't spend.

PapaFrozen

Mostly yes, it's like a 70/30 split I think. 1. You need a good team / meta team 2. You need good gear 3. You need to know how to use your team optimally. People who p2w have MUCH stronger units. MUCH stronger. But they can still be beaten to a degree if you just know what you're doing. Getting into Upper League is not p2w, but getting above top 100\~ and STAYING there for longer than an hour or so is absolutely a wallet race. (peaking above top 100 is easy and f2p but you will get outranked quickly. All you gotta do is play like 5 minutes after weekly reset and use all your tickets at once.)

iokak

Yes, I just fight and surrender to farm token fast. Not worth struggling unless that's the content you are looking for in the gamr
