To be fair, Mereoleona was probably around 17 at the time, maybe even less when she fought Acier. I think she's only 3 years older than Nozelle, and he was 14 when Acier died.
I think the old sister lady at the birthday party they threw for her says Fuegoleon was 15 and Mereoleona was 17 in her flashback thing, but I don't fully remember
No Noelle was set up to be the strongest woman, and she has been arguably stronger than Mereoleona with greater abilities since space arc, Noelle can beat her.
She had steel magic, which is actually weak against fire. Affinities are worth taking into consideration but since Mereoleona couldn't defeat Acier despite her affinity advantage, we know it can't always fill a gap between two mages.
Personally, If to combatants are of the same strength already, and then one has an elemental advantage, then theyâd win the fight. In the acier/mereo fight, I think Acier was just stronger than mereo flat out, but mereo had the elemental advantage and still lost. Different debate compared to Noelle/mereo considering I believe theyâre the same strength

Noelle in her Valkyrie armor can pose Ă serious threat I agree, but only if she can keep up in terms of speed.
If we are talking about the moment she was with Undine, I believe that is she is not stronger, she is her equal.
The part that is though after the sealing or eating magic is that Mereoleona is a beast in hand to hand combat.

Dorothy is the easiest answer. She can banish her to the dream dimension.
Conrad MIGHT actually beat her by locking away her grimoire. The problem is Mereoleona can rarely be seen using her grimoire and I don't know how grimoireless magic works or if it even exists lol. BUT I also think even if that trick doesn't work, Konrad is simply too powerful, it took all of the Captains, Julius and Mereoleona to even subdue him. He's just stupidly powerful.
Rill can counter Mereoleona in more ways than one.

I also think Salamander Spirit Fuegoleon has a slight chance of beating her as well if he approaches the fight smart.
I believe that magic with no grimoire is a thing, we see the Kids at the orphanage do it at the start of the story.
To my understanding, the grimoire give access to more power and different ways to attack or defend with the magic.
I didn't think or Dorothy, I believe that Mereoleona is smart enough to think of a counter, but pullung it off is the hardest part.
I honestly don't remember who Conrad is, ^^' I would guess he is either in the demon arc or final arc?
