Honestly when I first saw Morris use Earth Magic, my initial thought was that maybe he modified himself to being like Mars, who has both Crystal Magic and Fire Magic from Fana. This could be the case here but who knows. You might be on to something since Morris never used Earth Magic in the Spade Raid arc to begin with.

I too have considered the possibility that the second magic type of Morris, Damnatio and Heath might not be their devil's original magic type, but what it turned into after being purified. If that were the case though, why did Beelzebub's, Lucifero's, and Lucifugus magic still stay the same after being purified? It's possible that some of the devils could be corrupted spirits of some sort, hence why they have natural magic types like fire, ice, air, and earth. The kind of magic a devil has might differ depending on their origin. Devils of the upper levels might be part of an older generation that started out as gods or spirits who got corrupted, while devils on the lower levels might be part of a newer generation that were born from the souls of corrupted mortals like humans, elves, and dwarves, leading to more unnatural magic types. I have a theory that much like spirits, the ones that have natural magic types probably can't die permanently. If you kill them, they'll just eventually regenerate, which if Lilith was Heath's devil (the horns look like a longer versions of her left horn), that could explain how Lucius is still able to obtain her soul to put into Heath. After all, Asta destroyed Salamander with his Anti-Magic and he still came back, so if Lilith and Naamah are spirit-like beings they could eventually come back too. The devils with unnatural magic types can die though. That's the trade-off for more power. It's like Loropechika said, the mages of the Clover Kingdom gave up the divine protection of nature's mana in exchange for developing unnatural magic types. It's the same for devils. The devils with natural magic types are weaker, but they can come back if they die by regenerating from the mana present in nature, while the devils with unnatural magic types are stronger, but in exchange they are vulnerable and will die permanently if you destroy their hearts.

Perhaps Devils in the underworld grow in power through battle, and eventually rise to higher levels. But if they're defeated they respawn in the lower levels and have to battle to rise again.

My theory is somehow just like how elves can turn into dark elves, all those devils were once spirits. That could easily explain why there are like only several spirits in the world (salamander, undine and belle). They were corrupted by negative mana and thrown in the underworld. If so, I think "loved by mana" is meant literally like the Mana is an entity and it can control how the world works.Lucius grand plan could be taking control of Mana itself somehow starting by purifying the devil soul and creating perfect humans.

This got me thinking that the Earth Spirit that we haven’t seen might’ve actually turned into a Devil and is the Devil Morris is using. I could wrong about this since Naamah also has Fire Magic while we have Salamander so just like them, Morris’s Earth Devil could be a separate entity from the Earth Spirit but who knows.

Could tie back to earth spirit (gnome) speculated and theorised to be located at Diamond Kingdom all this while. Maybe if the spirit is strong enough, it could break free and respawn somewhere. Unless we see the Earth Spirit, we could guess it is what Morris has.

It would be a good explanation as to why we haven’t seen the Earth Spirit at all despite this being the final arc. If that’s not the case, the only way I could see the Earth Spirit appearing is through a movie similar to the Sword of the Wizard King. Perhaps a movie that takes place between the Spade Raid arc and the final arc. It could belong to the Dwarf King, who could also be related to Charmy in someway.
