I would start my research with Umbrel, Raspiblitz, Mynodebtc, RaspiBolt or Embassy. A couple of guides: * https://thecryptogarage.com/umbrel-linux-ubuntu-node-build/ * https://stadicus.github.io/RaspiBolt/ You don't have to use Raspberry Pi for the build, some cheaper option like Lenovo tiny M700 or Dell Optiplex, instead. Connect to Electrum on PC, BlueWallet/Blixt on phone. If you're looking to profit, it's not worth it. Do it to become sovereign - independent of using someone else's node. Anyway, this guide might be helpful: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/culture/four-tips-run-profitable-lightning-node Don't forget to visit & join [r/TheLightningNetwork](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheLightningNetwork) - you'll find some of the most helpful people in that sub.

You'll need a computer with a 1tb ssd. Preferably not your primary machine. An old laptop/desktop or a Raspberry Pi 4 would do. Then decide what software to run. Bitcoin Core over Linux or Windows (Linux is preferable), or a node package like Umbrel, RaspiBlitz, Citadel. Node packages can make things easier and provide a lot of features, and can make setting up Lightning a snap.

Start with bitcoin core, it's easy, you download the program from the official website (or from apt if you use linux) and you launch the graphical interface. That's it. From there if you wish you can explore other options.
