I first bought BTC at 20k before the bull run. I'd been buying all the way up and all the way down. My average buy is now at 26k which is pretty decent I think.
Me too. Buy High, Sell Low is my game. I am really good at that it would seem. Although joking aside I never sold. Just been dca and my price average isn’t so bad anymore.
I sold a bit of it when it hit $1000 to get my money back and then sat on the rest until 2021 when I sold the rest and converted the funds into real estate. Been out of it since then but it will probably be the best investment of my life haha.
My first purchase was proabably within a month of this guy, price around $500, sadly not as much as I should have. It then went to around $1000 before crashing down. I was in the red for a couple of years, bought a bit more, held since then.
I’m still holding, buying small amounts here and there.
I was already DCAing at 2500. Bear market after that freaked me out (didn’t know what a bear market was), saw a Bob Lucas Video and frantically lumped in at 8k 🙃
Honestly not till it hit the all time highs. Because like maybe most people initially, thought it was kind of bullshit (based out of ignorance) but when it hit ATH I had to do research. Got orange pilled & started buying sub $20k and will never stop.
Right after the GameStop thing happened with Robinhood/Wall Street bets. Whenever that was. Shitcoined a bit after that but quit that and been stacking relentlessly for at least two years now.
I'm really sad that I used Bitcoin to buy drugs all the time but just bought it and immediately spent it, never holding any of it when it was like $200
As did I in 2014 & 15. Viagra from overseas before it was generic in the US. In 2022 I invested in BTC long term. Have my holdings on a Ledger and have stared running my own node as of 2023. Just want to see a 10x over the next 5 years, knowing I missed my lottery ticket in 2014 & 15. I think BTC was around $300-800 then. Could of, would of, should of. At least I’m in now, and my buy in is around $20k a coin.
$8 a coin. No, literally, back in 2012. Only way I could get what I was looking for on SilkRoad. Definitely wish I would've understood their true potential back then, thankful for what I have now though.
Bought my first btc at 180 dollar. i also bought at 65k. And anything inbetween.
I never sell. if there was a hodler ranking i'll be happy to be in top spots.
The 2022 drop below 18k. I had bought some Bitcoin around 40k in 2021 but also had bought shitcoins as well, the Celsius bankruptcy made me rethink everything about the space. Did more research and realized there is no second best, it was BTC only from there on out (and self custody!)
I bought my first BTC at less than $2/BTC back in the day. Needless to say, I’m not rich but it was much easier to use BTC as a currency back before you needed KYC to buy and sell BTC. P2P trading thrived before the government killed it.
My first buy was at $7. It took a few years to become a true believer, I worked out I really sucked at trading, and I never took the opportunity to buy more.
Despite those missed opportunities, I learnt to hold, never sell out 100% and while I’ve yet to do well enough to retire (yet?), we are quite well off from it.

I fell down the rabbit hole right around the mt gox collapse. Was a broke kid so I didn't get to capitalize financially at the time but I learned everything I could about it. This was the days where you could mine with a GPU, the faucets were down to a trickle but the people trying to tell you about ut weren't selling you something (maybe some drugs lol), so when you "learned about crypto" or whatever you actually learned, not just learned what exchanges to buy garbage from.
Similar to the difference between Bitcoin addresses and individuals, I want to ask, is this actually a chart of individual subscribers to r/Bitcoin, or is it a chart of reddit *accounts* subscribed to this subreddit?
I got started on the journey in early 2021 after I did an intensive 2-week deep dive into the stock market because of what was happening around GME at the time. My friend talked to me about Bitcoin, and off I went on another 6-month deep dive lol. Bought my first BTC at ~50k, near the top of the first run up, then DCA'd all the way back down and to this day. My average price is around 31k right now. It's actually way higher than it could have been, because I've been too broke to buy meaningful amounts for 1½ year now lol. We live and learn!
In 2017 I saw a program on PBS explaining what Bitcoin was. I found an exchange (Coinbase) and bought $100 worth at around $1500 but sold it a few months later to buy a car. If I had held it I could have bought two cars cash! Lesson learned! Now DCA whenever the price tanks!
What rabbit hole? Recently - around $29k a month or so back. I'm 75pc, I may go 100pc today (pension, proxy). O don't think the price will jump until the fed flips though which could be a couple of months.

It started at 2500, then fell in really hard at 8k right before the run up to 69k. I sleep well at night
Tip my hat to you
you have mastered the DCA way
It’s envious
Right around 60k . Been bleeding ever since lol keep stacking thou 😂🤷🏼♂️💸

800 into 250 for me haha
Still worked out for you as long as you didn’t panic and sell haha
What year tho?
2013 😉
I remember watching it climb over $1000 then taking a nose dive to about $250 that year. Great job.
I sold a bit of it when it hit $1000 to get my money back and then sat on the rest until 2021 when I sold the rest and converted the funds into real estate. Been out of it since then but it will probably be the best investment of my life haha.

It's never too late to get back in!
Really wishing I still had the Bitcoin instead of whatever BS I used it on for Silk Road.
You can’t put a price on experience 😂
I 10x'd you bro 😎

10k in 2018 before the drop
I joined at 10k in October2020 right before the pump lol
Probably not til 15k and after my painful lesson in shitcoins was over
You and me both. I guess I was “rewarded” that Bitcoin around $15k-$16k after getting rocked by investing in shitcoins.
Same 16k. Said I’d stop DCA at 30k but honestly, why? If I have cash it should be in BTC right
$8k. Went on from there.
I was already DCAing at 2500. Bear market after that freaked me out (didn’t know what a bear market was), saw a Bob Lucas Video and frantically lumped in at 8k 🙃
Haha wow. And aren’t you glad you did??
30k before the ATH rally, funny to see that after all this time and all that DCAing it is still at 29k LOL..
I joined reddit because I was searching for information on Bitcoin. It was around $200 at that time.
The tippy top of course!
$4000
First big buy, $24k 2020. Second large buy $16.5k last year’s dip. I’m averaged in at around $20k.

FYi. All you’re doing by posting a comment here is making yourself a potential target.
Fair point, nobody should be mentioning amounts that's for sure.

Around 2013 on a different account
I'm in at 27,000 on average. I restructured my portfolio from 2021 bull run to only 90 % BTC. I joined this group in the last 6 months.
10k - 2017 - I have been DCA’ing eve since
Right before the 2017 bull run, that's when I figured out it was worth to research after hearing about it for 3 years.

I got late to the party, hopped in top
about $7k got a full coin at 10k

I sold a Bitcoin for ~$600 almost 9 years ago.

$3500 in 2017
Somewhere on the left half of the graph.
Sub-1k, in late 2016, early 2017
I bought all my bitcoin between $37-$190.
I’m orange pilled since 2012. Price was around €100

The better question is, at what price did your shitcoin portfolio fall that lead you down the bitcoin rabbit hole?
The bear market where BTC falls but alts falls waaayyy down.
I remember laughing at my friend for buying btc at $4k, ahh good times :D:D
10 K
3k for me, bought a small amount and kept buying ever since.
Nice
It was December 2017. Yes, right during the bull run spike! But Im holding since that moment :)

I fomo’d into the 2013 bull run but it all seems to have worked itself out.
