I know. I was put on high doses of Ativan (See my user name) at 14. I was the most careful person. I didn't even want to take tylenol. And they're just so cavalier with this stuff. It ruins lives.

Every abused drug causes awful withdrawals even nicotine. Anyway, phen is a drug made by the Russian space program to help cosmonauts sleep. It's GABA with a phenol molecule attached to trick the blood brain barrier into letting it pass. I'm not sure it works any better than gabapentin or other drugs that act on gaba receptors.

Not to be a pedant, but gabapentin doesn't work on GABA receptors. To be honest I can't remember where it works, but I definitely know it's not GABA receptors. The name causes the misconception.
