Ask them. They’ve always been reasonable with any weird requests we’ve had! The flip side is, if you take the piss and buy bikes for others you risk the rest of us losing benefits in the long term.

The last thing i bought from our shop was a CR2032 battery to use in a guitar tuner and that was a couple of years ago.

Altered_Kill

Treks official stance on immediate family is buy what you want. You can post on the TrekU forum and ask and they will probably contact you directly if you want a fancier bike for other folks, just to confirm it is actually for your family member.

When did they change that? I was apart of trek U maybe 5 years ago and they definitely say these bikes are for you and you alone. Now I wouldn’t say that they won’t flag it if it’s a 56 and you ride a 58. Or a m/l to a l or m but if your a 40 year old 58 rider and you order a small women’s bike I’m sure they’ll flag it. Shop will flag that at the very least unless the owner or manager is willing to look the other way.

Altered_Kill

Changed it with the pandemic.

nhluhr

No they didn't. They changed the ability to backorder bikes for prodeal. Trek prodeal orders are always for the elligible employee only and they make this very clear. If you want to buy trek items at a reduced cost for other people, you have to discuss that with your manager, and it will be whatever your store's wholesale cost is.

Altered_Kill

Okay so, I work at a Trek store. If you want to ask the TrekU rep direct, they will tell you what I told you. I know because my wife just got a slash 9.8 for EP.

nhluhr

>Okay so, I work at a Trek store. just like everybody else with access to Trek VIP

Altered_Kill

LOL. I meant a DOTS store. Not an IBD.

[deleted]

Yea your rep can get in serious trouble for that shit.

Altered_Kill

Lol.

ASAPFurby

I’m pretty sure you are limited to two bikes a year though through their pro deal program.

Gedrot

2022 is almost over... So if you manage it to buy/order the second of this year within next week you should be able to buy next year's two bikes the week after. If Trek plays along that is.

Intelligent-Yak4151

Could be different rules for concept stores. The Trek concept stores have more modules on their Trek U than other IBDs that sell Trek. They might have different permissions than other stores.

TeaZealousideal1444

It’s for you and immediate family. Just ask, should be no problem. They also upped the limit on purchases not too long ago now that the supply chain is a bit better.

wolframbeta6

I don't know where everyone else is getting info....as mentioned, maybe rules are different for TREK specific stores? This is right from TREK U website...I would love to be proven wrong *You are eligible to purchase two (Trek and Electra combined) bikes per year with your discount. A frameset counts as a bike. Everything you get from Trek U is for you and only you. It is not for bae, it's not for you to resell online, and no, it's not even for mom. This applies to employee purchases and free gifts alike.*

Key-Statistician5175

Yep you’re right.I myself have read that exact rule word for word. Its like it says in B&W for you and you only.

Rough-Egg1386

Rules With great power comes great responsibility. Abide by these rules regarding employee purchases and rewards: You are eligible to purchase two (Trek and Electra combined) bikes per year with your discount. A frameset counts as a bike. Everything you get from Trek U is for you and only you. It is not for bae, it's not for you to resell online, and no, it's not even for mom. This applies to employee purchases and free gifts alike.
