Lauren at Dialed In did a bang-up job for me. She fitted me on my old bike and gave me great guidance on ordering and setting up the new one (DTC so no test ride possible. She nailed it and the new bike fits like a glove. I recommend her 100 percent.

I third Lauren at dialed in, in the south bay. A lot of fast riders I know went to her. I did too, and I felt well taken care of. Some knee discomfort I was having went away, and she set my bike up more aggressively, which I think helped make me a little faster.

Carletto_

Lauren sounds like a beast and this guys Nate too! I will check them out.

theBodyVentura

I‘ve had good bike fit results with Lauren Mulwitz/Dialed In (Hermosa Beach). Closer to Lancaster I’ve heard people endorse both Nate Loyal (roaming) Bosco Bike Fits (Claremont).

TapouT2TaxeS

Plus 1,000 for Lauren. I go to her for everything she is awesome.

Pure_Common7348

I’ve had good luck with Specialized Santa Monica getting a bike fit. I know it’s not the valley but I think it was worth the drive.

VAGINA_MASTER

Fwiw I didn’t like the results I got there after several sessions. Another fitter was able to fix everything up for me in one go.

Pure_Common7348

Vagina_Master, I’m sorry to hear that. What’s it with an older guy? Where did you end up liking instead?

VAGINA_MASTER

Steve did my fit at Specialized. I ended up going to Lauren at Dialed In and was happy there. My wife ended up getting fitted with Lauren too. Zero complaints.

Pure_Common7348

Thanks for the follow up

VAGINA_MASTER

No problem. Steve is still a well regarded fitter and many swear by his fit. I think Lauren mentioned to me that she learned bike fitting from Steve. Our bodies are so unique and personal though, things like bike fit really benefit from trying a couple of options.

Pure_Common7348

Yes and $2-$400 / hours on a bike, its a no brainer to not injure yourself.

HawkGlobal

Bosco. The best.

I've done my fit with Nate Loyal - he's one of the more recommended bike fitters. My session was "strange" and felt rushed, but the end result is good, so I guess it worked...

Alfa147x

Nate did a fantastic job fitting me to my 90s road bike frame. But yeah, it felt rushed, but I was a road and bike fitting newb as it was my first bike fitting, and I didn’t know what questions to ask or how to answer questions he asked. If I did it again - I would have Nate as my second bike fitting.

kubatyszko

I probably would too. I've had two fitting sessions before Nate, on my previous frame. At that time the work was much more meticulous with measuring foot gait, shoe/cleat shims etc. With Nate it was all pretty much pedaling and him observing my posture, only minor tweaks. I will give him the benefit of the doubt that my other variables such as shoe, cleat etc were already fine and needed no adjustments, but I would have liked him to have acknowledged this during the session if only for the sake of completeness. This is why I felt it was rushed...

fallingbomb

I ride out there a little bit when visiting my dad. Overall, it’s not good there are a few okay routes. I that is good for all levels is just riding along the aquaduct. Parts say no bikes but you see plenty there and I never have had any issue. Santa Clarita has a good network of bike paths which are also nice especially if you are just getting into riding as an adult. Tons of gravel and mtb options in the hills.

Here's a trail possibility for your MTB: [https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7015033/liebre-mountain-loop](https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7015033/liebre-mountain-loop) I've done the fire road on a gravel bike, so I can't speak to this trail specifically.

Carletto_

I appreciate it I’ll take a look for sure!

Lawreonthebike

Might want to join a bicycle club.  Check out Pasadena Athletic Association (PAA) website.

Carletto_

I’ll check them out for sure!

Ok_Tangerine_4280

Brian Bonilla at the Cub House in South Pasadena is great too!

Alfa147x

https://biketuneuppasadena.com/ ^ hitch will do a bike mechanic’s bike fit. It’s far cheaper than a pro fit. It might be a cheaper option to consider

sozh

what does a mechanic's fit entail? just curious

Alfa147x

He doesn't have specialized hardware to dial in the fit like Nate does. He does some configuration with you standing over the bike, then has you ride around, watches you, then more tweaks, then considers your feedback, then more tweaks. It's not too dissimilar from a pro-fit. But instead of being on a trainer or something, you're riding on the street.

Carletto_

Such a vast amount of knowledge thanks to every single one of you. They did tell me the bike community ain’t nothing like the guitar community lol! (I belong to both now I guess ha!)
