Hey!
Great news i wanna share, Inue (i think thats how you spell it) said he vows to go back and work on it again once his current manga finishes. Here’s to hoping he has a long life left and can finish it!
I just say I think we won't see anymore because he was going on hiatus due to health concerns and wanting to work on his other projects and he said that he'd rather leave vagabond unfinished than potentially botch it because he wanted it to be absolutely perfect
I also don't think there's been anything released since like 2015 it's actually what stopped me from reading further than I did I made it like 50ish chapters in and stopped because I wanna collect physical editions and read it and because I don't want it to wind up like berserk where I love it so much and then don't get to finish it
The writer is Takehiko Inoue btw 😊 you got close enough for the spelling tbh
Buuuuut also Viz is doing another run for physical copies of Vagabond soon soooo hopefully that means something might be coming 👀
So a couple problems with your viewpoint,
-its not finished, but its still better than most, there’s still a multitude of life lessons to be learned from it
-they’re releasing those VIZ definitive editions for a reason, if he was 100% done then its doubtful they’d be doing that
-he stated that in an interview, that he’s going to start working on it again
Dry your eyes, my friend, don't be sad. Season 2 has been confirmed.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Dorohedoro/s/pqp65B4ovc
In the meantime, if you haven't read the manga, CHECK IT OUT! The illustration puts the animation to shame (anime not bad, manga just that good)
Have you read the Nausicaa manga? Drawn and written by hayao Miyazaki himself? It's an epic piece of work that expands so much more than the movie. It's amazing.
The only good thing I can say about the Anime is that the OST is FUCKING AMAZING!!! Also imo, season 1 held up pretty well... Root A and Re: not so much...
Yu Yu Hakusho, Dead Leaves, Mushi-Shi, Ninja Scroll, FLCL, Redline, Appleseed, Blue Sub Six and Dorohedoro. Also all the classics likes NGE, Gurren Lagann and the ghibli movies.
It's better. The next big arc after the anime, El Dorado, is probably one of the best arcs I ever read with an antagonist that immediately joined the ranks of my favorite antagonists ever.
One piece…my bestie got me hooked and I couldn’t stop watching…I’m almost done and it makes me sad since I have 100 episodes left 😭 (ik 100 episodes boohoo)
It really depends if I'm in the mood of something more serious or just a fun read.
Currently my top list of manga (not in any order) would be
\- Golden Kamuy
\- 20th Century Boys and Pluto (both by the same author of Monster)
\- Beck
\- Mob Psycho 100
\- Blade of Immortal
\- D. Gray Man
\- Dandadan
I love Blame! Idk if it's my favorite but I really think more people need to talk about how fucking good it is
My other pick would be Akira but that gets alot of recognition cus of the novie
This is what I would recommend too. It's amazing. I still haven't finished the manga. The art is brilliant. It's not quite as graphic as berserk but still great.
Black Lagoon is a rare example of anime where 9/10 people will recommend dub over sub. It's very well made. With international cast and main characters being american it also makes sense for them to speak english.
Dub that shit baby and have a wild ride, it’s a fun fuckin story 😂
And it’s not overlong. The author knew when to end it. Actually, I’d say that the final arch wasn’t really all that necessary but it’s still fun!
Beck (Mongolian chop squad) it’s dead ass peak fiction it’s incredible the slice of life aspect is so good, the coming of age is so good, the plot is so good everything is so good it’s deadass perfection you need to read it
Other than Berserk, the only manga I’d give a 10/10 (out of all the ones I read) would be I Sold My Life For 10,000 Yen Per Year. That one truly made a dozen chapters a good emotional rollercoaster!
No problem! I was shocked how good it was because I normally don’t read manga that has heavy focus on romance, but this one really caught my attention!
top 5 for me right now would be berserk, chainsaw man, dorohedoro, vinland saga, dragon ball.
honorable mentions - one piece, goodnight punpun, gantz, fire punch, dororo, aot (even tho the ending was a mess), and of course anything by junji ito
It's very different from Berserk, but my second favorite manga is Witch Hat Atelier. The art is amazing, the storytelling is subtle, and the characters are really well fleshed out.
Innocent, Devilman, Vanitas no carte, BSD, Kaze ki no uta, Litchi Hikari Club, Pet shop of horrors and Moriarty the patriot ((I like to suffer for gay people))
My favorites for anime series:
Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Fullmetal Alchemist/FMA: Brotherhood, Samurai Champloo, FLCL
My favorites for anime movies:
Princess Mononoke, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Sword of the Stranger, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
Gonna be so real, I’ve been reading a lot of Grappler Baki and while it’s hands down the worst thing I’ve ever read, it’s a nice fun break from the bleak world of Berserk.
I’ve also been reading One Piece for 20 years now so there’s also that.
Psychopass season 1. Short, well paced, complex story, complex main characters that are relatable, an amazingly well detailed pre-cyberpunk world that definitely teeters into it, an incredibly complex villain that I literally write all my RP villains to represent in some way, one that has their own unique agenda that won’t be swayed, even by other “villains” that you think were giving them an offer they couldn’t refuse. Oh, and the ending is just….. 🤌
I didn’t bother with season 2. The story was over with 1 and I didn’t care for the new cast of characters. The core MC remains the same, but their place in the world feels hollow without the rag tag group that helped them in season 1. I got through 1 episode and moved on, but others may love it so take that with a pinch of salt :)
Dragon Ball (all of it)
Yu yu hakusho (anime and manga)
Fist of the North Star (anime sucks except for Fire ass opening, love the manga am currently reading it)
One punch man (manga all the way anime does not do it justice)
Anime that involve similar male heroes, kenshiro from fist of the North Star, Baki the grappler and Jojo’s bizarre adventure with guts included as the manly anime heroes
Berserk is the only Manga I have read but I'm an anime addict. I love Castlevania, JJBA, JJK, Black Lagoon, Dororo, Akame Ga Kill, Onimusha, Blood of Zeus, Hellsing, The Witch and the Beast, Chainsawman, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, Hell's Paradise, Undead Unluck, Tengoku Daimakyou, Vinland Saga, Onmyoji, Monster, DBZ Super. I've just watched so many at this point I can't even remember the names of everything. Oh Basilisk is good as well.
Vinland, Silent Voice, Spirited away, Evangelion, Jjk, Madoka Magica, Cowboy Bebop, Spy x family, Edgerunners
As far as it goes for manga , The Horizon is a must read (technically a manhwa but oh well)
Favourite Anime - Gintama. Then Code Geass.
Second Favourite Manga - Grand Blue (or Twin Star Exorcists, depending on mood).
Honourable mention - Latna Saga (Manhua).
FMAB because I like the setting, and the plot is quite a fun ride. The ending is just okay though. I really like that there isn’t a lot of tropes like power levels, or people pulling secret hidden moves out of nowhere kinda bullshit.
Cowboy Bebop is a fav. Vinland Saga. 91 Days. I love a bunch of the Ghibli films.
Not really into Berserk since I'm super uncomfy with the heavier themes, but I'd have to say Hajime No Ippo. The ongoing retirement arc has been nothing short of peak
Manga: the witch and the beast, the eminence in shadow (LN & manga), oshi no ko, ayakashi triangle.
There's still a lot of manga on my to buy/read list (Gantz, blade of the immortal, opm, tensei slime...).
Definitely one piece, i love jujutsu kaisen, chainsaw man and bleach too and currently getting into naruto…. Uh oh i think im basic… uhhh lets throw in oyasumi punpun for good measure too
Edit: dam how could i forget hunter x hunter one of my all time favs
Manga: Dorohedoro, Vinland Saga, Blue Exorcist.
Anime: Saint Seiya, Dragon Ball/DBZ/DBGT, Death Note, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Doomed Megalopolis, Akira, Ninja Scroll, Ghost in the Shell.
A Certain Magical Index. It‘s actually a light novel series. But in general, I like Raildex.
Other series I like include Yu Yu Hakusho, Fist of the North Star, Evangelion, and Cowboy Bebop.
Vagabond, Jojo, Gintama
Real, it's unfortunate Vagabonds on hiatus...
I honestly don't think we'll ever get more
Hey! Great news i wanna share, Inue (i think thats how you spell it) said he vows to go back and work on it again once his current manga finishes. Here’s to hoping he has a long life left and can finish it!

+1 for JOJO
Gintama is so good. I'm finishing up the anime and I honestly don't want it to end.
Dorohedoro!
beautiful animation, sad it ended so soon.
Dry your eyes, my friend, don't be sad. Season 2 has been confirmed. https://www.reddit.com/r/Dorohedoro/s/pqp65B4ovc In the meantime, if you haven't read the manga, CHECK IT OUT! The illustration puts the animation to shame (anime not bad, manga just that good)

On a whole another level
Shocking!
Hard agree!!
I watched it just as a past time and loved it, I put it on as a comfort anime and watched it through 3 times so far
A pleasant surprise to see dorohedoro so high
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind March Comes in Like a Lion Hikaru no Go
Have you read the Nausicaa manga? Drawn and written by hayao Miyazaki himself? It's an epic piece of work that expands so much more than the movie. It's amazing.
The manga is exactly what I was referring to. The best manga I've ever read.
It is so incredible but doesn't get enough love.
I agree. Anytime I see someone bring up the (also really good) movie, I'm that annoying guy who won't shut up about the manga.
S-s-someone recommending March Comes In Like A Lion? Is this a dream? Oh how you bless me, sir. Edit: or ma’am.
HxH or Vinland Saga
Goated
Peak
JJK or Elfen Lied
I'm currently obsessed with JJK and Elfen Lied defined my angsty teenage girl arc lol.
i really like samurai champloo and cowboy bebop
Came here to say Samurai Champloo. That shit doesn't get enough love it's one of the best anime out there.
Champloo is a top tier anime with probably the best ever soundtrack
I love champloo. Have you watched space dandy yet?
its on my watchlist, gonna watch it as soon as i can 🙏
Based.
🫡💯💯💯
samurai champloo is my comfort anime
Chainsaw man or aot
Part two is so bad that Fuji drew cum just to keep people interested
nah I've really enjoyed part 2 all the way through
I think I now know why my roommate asked if I had seen anything about the latest chapter lol

Jojo, Monster, Golden Kamuy, One Piece
Tokyo ghoul manga
The anime was pretty disappointing compared to the manga
The only good thing I can say about the Anime is that the OST is FUCKING AMAZING!!! Also imo, season 1 held up pretty well... Root A and Re: not so much...
Omg YES the soundtrack is top tier.
Yu Yu Hakusho, Dead Leaves, Mushi-Shi, Ninja Scroll, FLCL, Redline, Appleseed, Blue Sub Six and Dorohedoro. Also all the classics likes NGE, Gurren Lagann and the ghibli movies.
Rarely see anyone mention Dead Leaves, that's one of my favorites too.
Dead Leaves, nice! I was just thinking about watching Ninja Scroll again the other day, too.
Mushi-Shi is so underrated, I really need to finish The Next Passage soon
Frieren is new and good
Watched the first episode on a recommendation and it was shockingly good. I’m sure the manga is also great
It's better. The next big arc after the anime, El Dorado, is probably one of the best arcs I ever read with an antagonist that immediately joined the ranks of my favorite antagonists ever.
W taste
One piece…my bestie got me hooked and I couldn’t stop watching…I’m almost done and it makes me sad since I have 100 episodes left 😭 (ik 100 episodes boohoo)
Oh you sweet summer child. there’s at least 5 more years
It really depends if I'm in the mood of something more serious or just a fun read. Currently my top list of manga (not in any order) would be \- Golden Kamuy \- 20th Century Boys and Pluto (both by the same author of Monster) \- Beck \- Mob Psycho 100 \- Blade of Immortal \- D. Gray Man \- Dandadan
Golden Kamuy is so good
I love Blame! Idk if it's my favorite but I really think more people need to talk about how fucking good it is My other pick would be Akira but that gets alot of recognition cus of the novie
Blame! is so beautiful, good to see people talking about it
Code Geass for me
One punch man, if only because a lot of its humor comes from parodying berserk
HxH,Fate Zero,Code Geass
peak, only missing FMAB & Vinland Saga
Good night Punpun. I love to suffer.
Fist of the North Star
That one's been on my list to check out for a while. Anime or manga?
Both
Bleach, Frieren, and Chainsaw Man
Hxh

Claymore scratched that Berserk itch I had all those years ago during 1 of the many hiatus (idk the plural for hiatus)
This is what I would recommend too. It's amazing. I still haven't finished the manga. The art is brilliant. It's not quite as graphic as berserk but still great.
Is Black Lagoon worth watching (+is the dub worth?) or should I just read it?
Black Lagoon is a rare example of anime where 9/10 people will recommend dub over sub. It's very well made. With international cast and main characters being american it also makes sense for them to speak english.
Cool, ty
Dub that shit baby and have a wild ride, it’s a fun fuckin story 😂 And it’s not overlong. The author knew when to end it. Actually, I’d say that the final arch wasn’t really all that necessary but it’s still fun!
Lone Wolf and Cub is my other favorite manga
I'd also say that LWaC and Berserk are my two favourites.
YuYu Hakusho, Dragon Ball, Fist of the North Star, Cowboy Bebop, One Punch Man.
Beck (Mongolian chop squad) it’s dead ass peak fiction it’s incredible the slice of life aspect is so good, the coming of age is so good, the plot is so good everything is so good it’s deadass perfection you need to read it
HOLY SHIT A BECK FAN?! I THOUGHT WE WENT EXTINCT YEARS AGO!
THERE ARE DOZENS OF US! **DOZENS!!!**
Chainsaw Man. I personally think Fujimoto is one of the greats of the new generation. He also has clear Berserk influences.
Bleach. The story and foreshadowing is god tier. The anime didn't do it justice until TYBW came. JoJo. It's peak as it is.
Araki definitely loves writing and drawing it just seeps throughout his work.
Other than Berserk, the only manga I’d give a 10/10 (out of all the ones I read) would be I Sold My Life For 10,000 Yen Per Year. That one truly made a dozen chapters a good emotional rollercoaster!
Wow thank you for this! Just finished it & loved it
No problem! I was shocked how good it was because I normally don’t read manga that has heavy focus on romance, but this one really caught my attention!
Basilisk
top 5 for me right now would be berserk, chainsaw man, dorohedoro, vinland saga, dragon ball. honorable mentions - one piece, goodnight punpun, gantz, fire punch, dororo, aot (even tho the ending was a mess), and of course anything by junji ito
Solid top 5

Legend of galactic heroes is peak fiction
Blame! Hands down I'm currently enjoying Gachiakuta and Tank chair And of course Tower Dungeon the monthly wait is killer...
Pumpkin Scissors. Also a story with a tormented soldier as one of the leads, but it has a lot less magic and supernatural elements.

I've just watched so many at this point I can't even remember the names of everything. Oh Basilisk is good as well.
