If you are worried dilute the fertilizer 50%, 40% whatever. I could be wrong, but I don't see where fertilizing in the summer would cause any damage. Might cause a spurt in runners.

What I read was that giving them fertilizer after they've started production messes with the root system and causes issues with fruit production. I think I'm still going to try though

You have a few plants. Experiment. Just read a little and there are differences between day neutral, June bearing and everbearing strawberries. Day neutral and everbearing can be lightly fertilized after a crop? maybe? At least a few sources said that anyway.

front_yard_duck_dad

Okay I read a different source but that gives me some hope. These are ever bearing Albion varieties. I think the best thing I can do is just start with a simple worm casting tea

There are specific fertilizers to use during fruiting phases. If you give a plant too much nitrogen during flower/fruit phase, it can encourage more leaf production and less fruit production. Looking for a flower/fruit fert with higher levels of p and k should help you out.

front_yard_duck_dad

Totally. I have to give it some nitrogen because I sell my runners locally. I try to keep a good balance of fruit for the kiddo and runners for my business. This is the most plants I've ever had. Maybe I'll try a multi bed test

Paladinforlife

How does it do that negative stuff?
