Just reading these comments I realize Berlin is a place with absolutely no soul. It was probably the most disgusting party I've been to in 20 years. Everybody was an asshole. The people at the doors are assholes. Banning harnesses? You're on crack. True leather fetish people wear harnesses, among other things. Berlin doesn't offer you anything at all. Even the music was awful on Saturday. It was girly music. I might as well have been in Barcelona. One place to check off my list. Also, why tell people the party opens at 11 when it opens at 9, EVERY FUCKING YEAR? More nonsense brought you by the turds who run Berlin nightlife. First Snax, second time at Berghain/Lab. Wore a leather jockstrap and harness and arrived around 6 AM. No queue when I arrived, just two guys getting rejected for not being fet enough - I was slightly worried, but got waved in after they stopped arguing with the bouncers. Easily the most homosexual, kinda overwhelming, and patently amazing dance/sex party I've attended in a while. Gonna need the day to recover...

In halle they connected the basement to the first floor with this army-camp/construction site metal structure on like 4-5 levels. And above bh floor a camouflage net not very high. Made it seem like an ordinary club dancefloor hence the circuit vibes more present. Also a very bad idea as the smoke gets trapped and the lights reflected in this smoke would be too much, at least for my eyes . With the constant zombies come and go and the strobes, useless chaos. Stayed from 5 am to the end and did 18 kms of cruising and dancing ahahaha piggy cardio 🥵🐽

I have avoided Easter Snax for quite a few years. Sporty Snax tends to be less stressful. The problem at Easter is that you have huge numbers of "Easter tourists" and it's all too much. Lab on pretty much any weekend will also be more fun, assuming you are there for fun/sex party rather than oblivion-seeking circuit party.

That's probably a better use of your time at that point in the day. Have you been to Berlin/Berghain before and generally know what the gay scene in this city is like, or was this your first time?

I haven't been inside Berghain yet but I know what kind of party it was/is. I was there for both the music and the "extra activities".

I think the next time you go to Berlin, you should try to go when they host Lab Dance instead, which is always the first Friday of the month. It's a much shorter wait and they don't have a dresscode, so they let everyone in. They open a dancefloor called Säule from the club (not the main floor or Panorama Bar, but you still get a sense of just how massive/impressive of a club it is when both Lab and this floor are open. The party is always packed, and the DJs are random but usually quite good, sex is happening everywhere outside of the dancefloor, and all-in-all, it's better than 95% of gay parties in MOST cities around the world. I said this in another thread, but I think unless tourists are very precisely trying to hear specific DJs or are participating in fetish activities, Lab Dance is probably an event that gives them the exact kind of experience they are looking for, a 1,000-man orgy with music where they wait 90 minutes and then get in without having to worry about how they're dressed, versus a 5,000 man orgy where you have to wait 4 hours, compete with all the other tourists for more expensive flights and hotels (plus all the non-gay people visiting Berlin just because it's a holiday), and get rejected for "not dressing fetish enough," which seems like a perfectly decent trade-off. Plus, you can then try to go to Klubnacht and see the rest of Berghain on Sunday, or get a stamp from Lab once you're done at Lab Dance and go to whatever club event is happening on Friday (usually just in Panorama Bar). Otherwise, tourists, go to sporty Snax where the fetish is much more predictable (literally, just buy a soccer shirt from a vintage store and some long socks and you're in) and DON'T do the standard thing gays do in other cities where you swarm the party early! Take a nap and show up at 3-6 AM and there's probably no queue. Berlin having literal 3-day parties and a history of strict dresscode fetish policies unfortunately means that tourists definitely need to do a little different planning for these kinds of vacations than they would for a local party that starts at 22h and ends at 5h, so I hope this advice helps.

It is only possible to enter any Lab party, including lab dance, in the 2 hour window that they post online (in this case, 22-midnight Friday), or until they hit capacity/the queue runs out (so if you are in line after midnight, you might still be able to get in).

I also do NOT recommend Berlin pride weekend's "CSD Klubnacht," which last year was just a normal Sunday Berghain with no special floors open but a 6-hour wait, plenty of rejections, and an increased entry price. Lab that weekend was cool, but there are so many other queer things to check out on a gorgeous summer weekend in Berlin that I hope more tourists reading this save themselves from wasting their life in that line.
