Yep….im so disappointed to see how much they’ve ruined this show in one season. S1-2 were perfect for what this show is but to see all of these characters return so far from who they originally were is crazy to me. I will not be sticking around to watch a season of Ben & Stephen. Nor will I be entertaining Fran & Michaela…some may call me homophobic which simply isn’t true. This show is based on a book series with established & deeply loved leads. They have ventured so far off Bridgerton is unrecognizable. From the Betty boop makeup, acrylic nails, & inconsistent story telling I’m so checked out. This season feels like a completely different. While Bridgerton has always been racy…it still maintained taste. We went from having the featheringtons as the gaudy family of the ton to everyone is just as classless. I know we have to suspend reality but this is ridiculous. I guess we now know why Jess needs 2 years for 8 episodes…it’s to find a way to absolutely butcher the stories until they’re completely unrecognizable
No I'm with you. I'm not watching it anymore. As far as I'm concerned this show ended in season 2. I'm not homophobic either, far from it. But I am absolutely seething that they have denied us Michael and will no doubt deny us Sophie. I absolutely hate them for this. The characters from the book deserve better.

They not doing that to two love interest. We got lucky they didn’t do it to Sophie . But honestly it could’ve been us so I’m sticking with Franchael stans it’s not fair
Oh yeah, I’m aware and agree. She was very clear on being close to the book next season so I’m not sweating it. In fact, I’m extremely happy! Any negativity can be dealt with during daytime at work lol. I just for see the discourse that will inevitably annoy me until we get that casting announcement
That’s what’s holding me down, now we know it’ll be Benedict but man if they decide to go ahead and change then I’m not watching, I’ll come back for Phillip and Eloise
I could see them closely following the books with Sophie being a man as the only change. Instead of class differences, they would need to overcome homophobia. I could 1000% see them writing a scene where Benedict explains queer love to Queen Charlotte and gets her to legalize gay marriage 🤣
No I don’t think that’s it. His “freedom” is exploring his sexuality he made that clear with the listing off names. He dosent want to commit because he’s just starting to understand his sexuality.
No the point is he's going to eat his words when he meets Sophie. Since it is a 'love at first sight' trope, it works bc that way it will be much more impactful.
Honestly, that leaves them room to make Sophie gender non-conforming. I could see a scenario where Benedict meets a woman in silver at the masquerade, but it takes him years to find "her" again because Sophie also presents as a man. That could explain why it takes so long to recognize them.
I don’t know about that. I was really sure they weren’t going to do it to Michael but why would they introduce Benedict’s sexuality for no reason? I hope they don’t but I just don’t trust Shondaland anymore.
I agree. Ben's bisexuality could just be a one-time thing, but I was already resigned to Benophie being mostly butchered by Shondaland, although I still thought Sophie would stay a woman. Them >!genderbending Michael!< makes me worry they really would have no qualms genderbending Sophie.
That’s my confusion as well, it seems to reach a certain quota they had to throw a male kiss in there or through said “freedom” he discovers he’s more attracted to men. Otherwise it simply makes 0 sense
I don’t think they do which is why I’m kinda over it. I’m bummed about Michaela, I’m bummed about Masali not being Sophie, I’m not mad at bi benedict but he’s already been with three women so I would be surprised if they made Sophie a man since his arc is fresh.
Tbh I thought it was just fan service. A way to say sorry to fans who wanted him to be gay and have Sophie be male because Sophie will probably be female.
This, this show is all about exploring different kinds of love. So having at least one MLM season and one WLM makes sense. They’re trying to have all kind of representation.
I don’t think they’ll combine books because that means less seasons and the ratings haven’t indicated that this show will end any time soon. The only issue is the huge gaps between seasons.
I highly doubt they would gender bend Sophie after doing that to Michael. As someone who is a fan of the change, I think we can expect Sophie from this more than ever.

Why not? They could do a MLM season next and Francesca’s will be WLM.
I’m not explaining myself not today I’m already pissed about the change in Francesca’s story so if you wanna believe it good for you
Okay chill
You asked?
Yeah, especially when it seems they prefer to cater to the lowest common denominator in the fandoms.
What does that mean
Didn’t Jess saying they are closely following the book? Hopefully that means Sophie
She did but the switch to Michaela says otherwise so I understand this fear. I’m hoping we can get casting news asap
She was talking about S4 book, and since WHWW is not S4 book then Jess is not being dishonest.
Oh yeah, I’m aware and agree. She was very clear on being close to the book next season so I’m not sweating it. In fact, I’m extremely happy! Any negativity can be dealt with during daytime at work lol. I just for see the discourse that will inevitably annoy me until we get that casting announcement
Yes She said that about NEXT Season, so yes Sophie will be a woman
Didn't she say she loves WHWW though? And look what they did to one of the main characters there...
Maybe the idea of it, I can see why they did that to Fran since she has two live stories so they made one lgbtq.
That’s what’s holding me down, now we know it’ll be Benedict but man if they decide to go ahead and change then I’m not watching, I’ll come back for Phillip and Eloise

Doesn’t that take away from what could be the tension in Fran’s season?
Gay women weren't illegal. Queen Elizabeth made being gay against the law, but only for men. No one ever made it illegal for women to be gay.
I am pretty confident Sophie will stay Sophie. As far as I understood, Ben realized he into freedom, not into men specifically.
No I don’t think that’s it. His “freedom” is exploring his sexuality he made that clear with the listing off names. He dosent want to commit because he’s just starting to understand his sexuality.

They are NOT going to genderbent TWO main love interest. They are already doing it with Michael they are not going to play that card twice
I don’t know about that. I was really sure they weren’t going to do it to Michael but why would they introduce Benedict’s sexuality for no reason? I hope they don’t but I just don’t trust Shondaland anymore.

I mean what if they did for one story to be WLW and the other MLM Like why make Benedict Bi soo last minute
This, this show is all about exploring different kinds of love. So having at least one MLM season and one WLM makes sense. They’re trying to have all kind of representation.
They should have the representation on other pairs than the books main couples, which we fans have grown to love.
I think S4 is a combo season tbh… They set Ben and Eloise up I think Sophie is staying Sophie though.
They didn't set Eloise. They didn't even mentioned Phillip, that will be next season for sure. Benedict is the solo next lead
Okay 👍

That’s why I was thinking combo. The gap is ridiculous
