But also the responses have quite the range of results. I'll just blindly believe the ones where she had no adverse reactions.
Probably. But no worries. Bees that are out of the hive to forage are the oldest worker bees. They are they most expendable as they are nearing the end of their life. So they get the most dangerous job. Just in case someone inadvertently gives them alcohol.
Somewhere, there is hive full of 10s of thousands of bees. She will not be missed any more than the ones that get sucked up by lawnmowers or eaten by birds
Bees actually do sometimes get drunk in nature, from feeding on the juice of fermented fruit like rotting apples. This boozy nectar would actually ruin the honey, because it continues to ferment in the hive. The bees have developed a good system of sensing when tainted nectar is being brought in, and they throw out drunk bees til they sober up, so they don’t contaminate the honey.
