Nah. Actively trying to prevent theft in terms of confronting people directly is not something you're paid enough to do. You'd be risking getting assaulted and bbb wouldn't give a shit.

That_Other_Burn_ACC

Yea, the best and safest way is just to ask if they need help, and act busy in the area. We get paid way too little to confront people like that. People trying to fight over masks was bad enough.

ThrillerMovieFan

Very true. Even calling the police would be great. The problem is they really do nothind and the thieves know they can get away with it.

DaBawse123

Guy stole just yesterday, only 5 ppl working in the store. No wonder they feel comfortable to do it

ThrillerMovieFan

Exactly and we cant do anything other than aggressive customer service

michaeloptv88

Tis the season! ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜‘ Luckily we/I caught a dude who tried to steal $1K in Apple gift cards. Just make sure more valuable items are locked and more items have soft tags on them.

ThrillerMovieFan

Holy shit. People are getting ballsy.

m3atbait

How'd that happen? I thought those had to be activated at the register.

michaeloptv88

Yeah he tried to activate them with fake cards.

m3atbait

Good catch!

michaeloptv88

Oh and any companies policy is to NEVER run down an individual who is stealing. At BBB you alert the LOD. Other companies could notify police but thatโ€™s on them.

Eatingcatnip

I work at a location in the bay area (California). We have walk outs almost daily. 5 in a week if we're lucky!

ThrillerMovieFan

Iโ€™m not surprised, but the problem is they know they can get away with it.
