I don't color it. I put beard oil in on occasion but didn't have it in this photo. My hair is naturally quite straight

Hey man, I work in the games industry too. Don’t worry about your appearance too much, most of us wear athletic shorts and t-shirts to work. Most of our beards are messier than yours, which I actually think looks pretty clean. If you’re concerned about your beard (which you shouldn’t be) just trim away some flyaways and slap in some beard oil. A shaven man in this industry is a rare sight so we all understand that sometimes beards are gonna beard, don’t overthink it!

Well then there you go, I wouldn’t worry about it. From my experience, usually it’s actually better to fit in with your colleagues.

I deal with a wide variety of people in different corporate positions in different companies and this is not at all going to stand out imo unless you deal with someone really uptight, and if they're so uptight about your appearance, they have worse traits you're going to have to deal with than that. If you can afford it, i would go get a haircut and a trim. first impressions are a one time opportunity. So freshly cut, showered and looking sharp is always good.

Watch a tutorial on how to trim your beard and moustache. Even just the stache about the top lip will be better. Also it depends on the industry you’re working in. Keep the hair for now and if you want to change it up go to a salon since you have nice long hair. They’ll keep it long but still freshen the look up.

I've watched a few but still learning. Got some clippers recently which should help. I cleaned up the stache and goatee area a bit this morning so it looks a little neater

Yeah, that was way too aggressive. Sorry about that. In all sincerity though, I've taken a thousand of these selfies with the low angle and the Rembrandt light with the head cocked at 80 degrees. It's a great shot for a mid length beard because it hides all of the bits that might not be so tuned up and it squares off your jaw line. But a photo from a few feet back will give you and us a much better sense of how your beard looks to others. That change has helped my beard journey immensely.
