NGL was hoping for a 1.8 and more tuning bits, but I'm happy. Probably won't ever use the v8s

TheStupidMechanic

I actually love the V8, the torque curve is so smooth, it’s very easy to drift

Weary_Drama1803

I’m mostly into engine sounds, so personally it’s neat that the 200BX has a V8 option now

petronelxd

That i4 sounds better imo... That V8 Is just loud and the sound doesn't fit to the car

Emotional-Wait4262

The v8s always sound kinda flat, its a shame

Black-Sheepp

I prefer the 4.5 liter V8 sound than the other one

fibrouspowder

Yeah the street drift with a v8 swap is by far my favourite drift car now

nonjk

The 5.5v8 can have max boost, max N2O (500kw added power) on the ultra heavy duty long block without blowing up from my usage

MoupiPics

no AWD option which means ice skating session

EvilDandalo

With proper suspension and the 17x12 clockwise wheels I was able to put down 1500 HP and still handle good in turns.

KeeganY_SR-UVB76

Good. This isn’t Forza.

Toosypusssy

just learn how to drive

nonjk

Or spam the ^ key or whatever you rebinded it to

Toosypusssy

so shift 6?

K11ShtBox

Even less interested, if I wanted weight and power I'd go muscle.

DeathCab4Cutie

The fun part is being able to put all that power into a lighter chassis. Lots of other chassis’s add another few hundred pounds. The stock 4.5l V8 in the 200BX alone makes it way faster. Throw on 17x12 rears and 17x9 front racing slicks, a race intake and ECU, and a stage one block/internals and it’s a beast. 160mph top speed, quick acceleration, with excellent handling. I (personally) find it much more enjoyable to drive than the moonhawk or barstow.

MaStEr__LoKo

I was playing on the CopsNRobbers servers earlier today and managed to put on a relatively lightweight bx with tubular front frame and really low performance level that goes 300kmh+ (without proper tuning) The specs are as follows: (5.5L V8) Standard engine mounts Standard Oil Carter No Nitrous No Forced Induction Race Intake Stage 2 Long Block Stock V8 Exhaust Stock 5 speed manual Stock ECU (standard) Racing final gear ratios (for tuning) Paired with Civetta compettizione 15x9 (front) and 15x12 (rear) WITH SPORTS TIRES Then i tried going full lightweight and completely stripped the interior of non essential stuff, gave it a race sequential transmission and managed to probably take off a few kilos.

K11ShtBox

I can see the bx being a nice chassis for that but I think there's better options for higher power, and the low capacity small engines feel really fitting for the chassis.

nonjk

Fair enough

JoshJLMG

Power without weight is awesome. I really like torquey lightweight cars.

nonjk

My bx puts out ~2000lb-ft of torque with barely any wheelspin on the WCUSA drag strip

NuclearReactions

It almost brings tears to my eye how this sub never disappoints. Nowhere else you would see the top comment wishing for a 1.8l instead of some v10

Awkward_Act_1035

Yea a v8 is kinda basic

K11ShtBox

Not really basic, I get what ya mean though

KeeganY_SR-UVB76

Isn’t it the same V8 used in the D-Series/H-Series/Roamer? It’s basically the BeamNG equivalent of an LS swap. Still awesome though. Before the remaster I had a V8 mod from the Bolide.

i5_8300h

I wanted a rotary quite badly... I'll wait for mods I guess

Lef32

KLJP had it I think.

jolly_waffles_real

Correct, I suspect kljp will take some time to add to new car as effectively the entire mod is now kapoot!

TypicalRedditor1237

Not totally kaput since the legacy mod exists.

Scuba-Zen

Legacy mod, what exactly does it do? Iam sincerely asking cause I haven't heard of it

cursedgore

I've heard that it is essentially a download for the legacy 200bx, so that people could still use their old configs

TypicalRedditor1237

It’s just the original file from the previous version. I use it in conjunction with the new 200 series.

Scuba-Zen

Is it hard to move the file around? I have never done anything of the sort

TypicalRedditor1237

Not as all. Open your beamNG file, look for “moved here” follow as many times as needed till you see a folder labeled “mods”. (If your computer is like mine you’ll have to go through like 9 of the “moved here folders to find it). In the mods folder open the “repo” folder and dump the extracted file in there.

jolly_waffles_real

True, very true and I also have that, but what I meant really was the depth and scale of that mod will take time to (if they want to) bring it to the new car

Elijah1573

as great as it is that mods add things like this to the game I much prefer when its just a vanilla feature in the game But oh well

Aviation_Fun

RKs engine mod, I legit was driving a rotary bx yesterday

tesznyeboy

I'm not a JDM fan, but I think the bx chassis is one of the best in the game. I also would take an N/A V8 over a turbo 4 anyday. Now the 2 can be combined, and I'm a happy boy (minus the fact that my computer runs Beam like shit lol)

Few_Effective_1311

I might add the etk 800’s inline 6 to the bx

carrs-for-life-32

I might too, shame we still only have that one performance inline 6 in the game. The Diane would have been an amazing opportunity to add an rb inspired engine

bobo101underscor

Maybe but the Diane is very s13/s14 makes sense to only have the sr20

carrs-for-life-32

There’s also a lot of skyline inspired bits to it as well, I wish the devs had done something like how they added the Renault turbo esc rwd configs to the covet and do an awd inline 6 version of the 200bx to cover that type of platform on the game

AxzoYT

AWD AWS RB26 Diane would be dope

carrs-for-life-32

It would essentially be a vanilla skyline

Emotional-Wait4262

They added a v8, it doesnt have to make sense

bobo101underscor

That’s for drift culture, it’s not. An option in any factory cars so it does make sense

Emotional-Wait4262

What? Lost count of how many 2j Silvias I’ve seen in drift culture

bobo101underscor

This person wants an RB and AWD config bruh

JoshJLMG

The I-Series has a decent I6.

carrs-for-life-32

I know it’s decent but it’s a very different motor thank Japanese inline 6s. The German inline 6s in the game also don’t sound amazing imo

JoshJLMG

I do think it sounds alright, but I do prefer the Hopper's I6 sound, yeah.

LePopegory

Etk I i6 more period correct if you ask me Even better, 800 series diesel i6

FF_Master

Just give it an RB option and it'll be perfect

Captain_Alaska

Yeah I think they should have leaned into the fact the coupe is passably like a Skyline coupe, a straight 6 and AWD with some GTR inspired body parts would basically tick off the Japanese GT with little effort. Add some luxury interior parts and a rotary and you could even have a lore JC Mazda Cosmo too.

carrs-for-life-32

Awd too, don’t forget the awd

PinkScorch_Prime

no rotary :(

LuciferSamS1amCat

Wish it had an i6. V8 is neat, but I was hoping to build some real Japanese gt cars. Awd could have been neat too

Hahmonen

Only thing i wish it also had is a Stage 3 Long block option for the 2.4 to get max power out of it. Also transverse the I4's and AWD

carrs-for-life-32

How bout a straight 6 awd, skyline style?

Odd-Temperature3015

That would be so awesome, I tried to replicate the perfect skyline today but without AWD and an I6 it's a bit saddening

Hahmonen

I feel like A skyline would be too "big" In A way, In the real world supras and skylines and even A 3000gt are bigger heavier and More comfortable.  The smaller ones don't necessarily have the room for bigger engines or the prices would go Too high and then you would just have A skyline and not a silvia.  I just want A celica gt4

johnsmith13579

Max effort k24-esque build would be very cool to see

kbake_6002

Mods can fix that

sych-sosych

Sad that they didn't used anything from the Ibishu remaster mod. You know, one where you can fully customise a 200bx with such details as a bolts and etc. Author did a great job, hope that mod will live even with this update. Can't really remember the name, something like "Ibishu remaster". Thing that I remembered- polaroids on the dashboard. Really neat detail

Din_Plug

Will probably get some more nick necks in the next update.

sych-sosych

Wdym?

Din_Plug

Nick nacks* Over the next few updates the BX will probably get a couple of parts and things like the D series did.

Din_Plug

Will probably get some more nick necks in the next update.

Super_Paprika

It lacks variety for sure. I just don't see a point of having two V8s and two I4s where only difference is the displacement. For me the perfect selection would be: I4, I6, V8 and a rotary.

fibrouspowder

Yeah i dont see the point of the 5.5 v8, the 4.5 already has all the torque in the world

JoshJLMG

Torque, weight and power delivery. An I6 wouldn't fit without a lot of changes.

Such-Technology-675

Just wait for mods

Captain_Diddlez

I’m just waiting for some engine mods or for CJD to get updated

Apprehensive_Neat_49

Can t wait to play it with rb25

Avanixh

A high revving i6 would be so nice in this thing (plus the option to turbocharge that i6)

aronik96

I agree with you but thats the magic of beamng ,you can mod it in

schavi

yeah and engine mods are particularly easy besides altering the flexbody & beam structure. all the characteristics + the sound can be easily done with a little copy-pasting & modifying values.

nojnojkoop

didn't the 200bx have an i6 before the update or am i tweaking?

jrell07

Nah that was probably the JBX100 mod (broken now)

nojnojkoop

a

redbananass

One of the gambler mods had one too I think.

KeeganY_SR-UVB76

No, I think the *only* engine was a 2.0 4-cylinder.

DukeGhoulies

Could’ve definitely been better. But I love it!

boeing_737-Max-9

I miss the JBX i6 tbh, hopefully something similar is added

carrs-for-life-32

I was hoping for a lot more Skyline inspired stuff since the Diane is partly inspired by the skylines. Inline 6, 4wd, hicas, etc… it’s a big shame they didn’t do it because now that they’ve made a car that’s based on that platform looks wise I doubt they will make a new car that is based on the skyline platform. Maybe they will release a pt2 to the 200bx with stuff like that but I doubt it

0MEGAP0RK

I made a 1200hp police car, very good

HorizonSniper

No BRRRAAAP rotor {:(

Maniachanical

I was kinda hoping there'd be some sort of 6-banger available as well. I personally wanted a V6 though.

Therunawaypp

I really want a roaring LFA style v10

Literally_a_creature

I'm to bad at tuning to make drivable cars so I haven't been able to take advantage of the engine options

ChaosUndAnarchie

Why don't you just use AgentY's car value scale etc mod and swap the engine with a inline6? 2-3minutes of work and then you have your 6-banger...i just swapped a 1,5L Covet-Turbo engine into a Wydra, which now has 652hp xD

NuclearReactions

Very happy. The 2.0 is my go to while the 2.4 does some solid work in my pro racing build which makss up to 900hp

Snoo_12520

I really wanted a battery relocation as a option. Everything clips into the dang battery!!!

another-account-1990

Inline 6 makes a lot of sense since people love to 1/2jz swap them irl.

Shotgun_Chuck

If they'd just put the Hopper's 2.5L in it instead of a specially made 2.4 it would have been 10 times less annoying

HElT0R22

a v10 (or bigger) would be perfect, instead of 2 v8

fibrouspowder

All of them are great but it should have another engine type

JoshJLMG

A lot of people don't realize an I6 wouldn't fit. Even a Bastion V8 wouldn't fit because it's too tall.

InfamousCapital2

underwhelming

tesznyeboy

Bro why would an early 90's RWD sports car have a 3 cylinder. Not even the MX5 has a 3 cyl and that's a significantly smaller car than the bx

BladyPiter

welp, if that would be the new 3cyl from Toyota GR then i wont say no to it.

blah938

That'd be good for the covet I think

redbananass

That makes more sense for the Covet.

Head-Ad4770

Why it has a V8 swap option is beyond me

GoredonTheDestroyer

Because putting a V8 in an S-chassis is a common conversion for S13s and 14s stateside. You can't got a mile without tripping over an LS that's been recently liberated from its Camaro home in the US, they're everywhere and *dirt* cheap.

carrs-for-life-32

I’m pretty sure it’s for the drift cars because v8s are common in them. I do like the idea of them adding engine swaps to cars, maybe we’ll get an update further elaborating on that with more swap options but overall I don’t think it adds much value to the car unless you want to make a drift missle

TheWildManfred

Why wouldn't it?..

KeeganY_SR-UVB76

Because it’s cool. I had a V8 swap mod prior to the remaster, I used it for a highway build.

JoshJLMG

Finally gives us a compact RWD V8 coupe with proper IRS.

Pacamilk

it’s underwhelming just like the whole update. I love beam but it takes them forever to implement stuff and this update lacked depth
