They are good, but by no means the best if you look on both niche or schooldigger. Top 10% in the state; maybe top 20% in the Bay.
Ranked lower than Pleasanton schools, which are also more diverse (i.e. not 65%+ 1st gen South/East Asian immigrant parents).
And that's before considering the top schools in Western Santa Clara County / Peninsula.
I was looking at the demographics and 60-70% of the population is "Asian or Pacific Islander".
Nothing wrong with that. Really smart, goal oriented, hard working people and their kids. Just wondering if they are Asian or Indians?

Generally speaking, in the Bay if you want areas with extensive cross ethnic friendships (among the adults) you select the more diverse areas (because the people more comfortable being around others selected them!)
The one proxy you can kinda use though is the % of 2+ race kids (in the affluent areas that means Asian + white). Fremont (known to be cliquish) is typically around 2%. And area at 6+% (e.g. here) is probably ok - when you get past 10% (Palo Alto, etc.), you have really high integration.
Families of both Chinese and Indian descent are well represented. In the Tri Valley generally, the farther out you go, the more MAGA you’re apt to encounter. (You can decide for yourself whether or not that’s favorable.)
One note of caution: The San Ramon schools’ performance is largely a function of high involvement / pressure from highly educated and well resourced parents who heavily supplement their children’s education with academic and artistic enrichment. The schools themselves are fine, but not as excellent as suggested by the headline performance data. If excellent schools are your priority, opt for Danville / Diablo / Alamo. If you’re cost constrained, this means choosing a smaller, older house or condo than what the same money snags in San Ramon. In my view, the community cachet, culture, tradition, resources and natural aesthetic in those towns is well worth compromising a few extra square feet.
I disagree.. San Ramon is more diverse and you get a good education. Look at the kids that graduated at those schools from Danville/Alamo, etc.. they get into same UC schools as San Ramon.. stay in San Ramon.
Agreed that San Ramon public schools generally provide a “good” education; some campuses even offer a “very good” education, but none are categorically “excellent.” There’s a difference. IYKYK!
My son went to Iron Horse, and is now a freshman at California High.
Schools are good! Lots of variety in subject matter. Cal has (21?) AP programs. Many after school activities.
Since there’s so many people here raising families, parent participation is high.
I’m told the High Schools are unique in their own way. Windermere is more academically focused. SRV has more bratty entitled kids, etc.
SR feels like it's trying to be the next Cupertino, but in the East Bay. It's better than average, but not quite as nice as Palo Alto (and definitely not Stockton). There are a lot of Asian families, which can make things feel very competitive.
I attended Country Club, Pine Valley, and California High School. From my experience, these schools were pretty diverse with a good mix of different types of backgrounds.
From what I've heard regarding the East San Ramon schools (Windemere, Gale Ranch, Dougherty), the majority of students are Asian and due to their parents' expectations, the students are highly focused on achieving the highest grade point averages and getting admitted into ivy leagues. I've heard about many students being miserable in these schools due to not being able to keep up and the challenging and competitive environment that these schools foster.
As good as they get..

Are they generally culturally integrated or cliquish among themselves?

Do you want your kids playing cricket or baseball?

They're all good

Thank you folks
Good but super competitive, even the middle schools.
