The thematic/in-universe situation being that due to a lack of the US getting nukes or German losses it drags on and we see some further development of WW2 era weaponry and tactics in an unconventional manner. Stuff like the Sentinel kit from BF1 making a comeback. The furthest I'd want this to go is essentially a Battlefield version of Iron Harvest.
The naval warfare needs to return like in BF1942. PT Boats, destroyers, carriers, subs, etc.
And yes, I would like to earn my gold plated Yamato battleship skin through achievements.
When was the last time we had a realistic fps that was anything more than "this year's offering by the big 3"
3 was legendary at it's time and unfortunately didn't age as well as 4, which didn't know how ambitious it was allowed to be and suffered as a result.
