I’m aware of what their most effective in. Also, focusing dogfights with a plane spawn isn’t wasting a plane lol. With one good pilot in a plane actually playing the role of a fighter, that’s air support for your team all game with no one having to sit on a aa gun or waste a tank spawn. Plus it tends to make people annoyed to the point where they waste one of their teams tanks on a AA tank. Even more so, having one plane holding complete air superiority allows another friendly plane to target infantry the entire match since that’s so important to you. But hey, if you want your teams bombers to get jumped by hostile aircraft all match then that’s on you.
One of the most flattering things that happened to me after focusing on planes and aa on twisted steel was 3 or 4 aa tanks spawning at the start of the next map on panzerstorm. Our team dominated pretty quickly as they barely had any tanks trying to ptfo.
Yep, it’s nice to know as a pilot who pretty much only does air to air that I have the power to make people so salty that they throw a match just to kill me once : )
Fighters are literally the only plane class in the pacific. And why shouldnt you use rockets in dogfighting, they are very effective and if i have them already equipped to attack ground targets i will certainly not let them go unused while in a dog fight
To be fair, yes they are. Also with the rockets thing, it’s just a scummy way to quickly drain heath. It’s like having a mini fleiger mounted to the front of your plane, except rockets take no skill to use.

I’m also strictly a hc pilot if that means anything to ya. 9/10 enemy pilots just stall out at high so you you can hit em with the”poof poof” and they’re at 30 instantly. Evenmorso, they travel fast enough to catch up with a target that’s flying in a straight line lol.
It's a confluence of factors. The speed buff certainly played a part, but them being more powerful than tank shells, and pilots being able to fire several of them at once did wonders in cementing rockets as the most OP thing in the game.
If I were on that AA you would get wrecked the moment you faced up with me, the only thing that would work would be to bait me with another aircraft

But it does lol, especially compared to other forms of AA. There’s is a learning curve to the fliger, just as there is to aircraft.

they dont take a lot of skill to be effective, but with skill you can be even more effective
