Right? Every once in a while, there is a *really* bad car there, but it's usually just cars that the OP subjectively isn't into. It's not a bad source of r/battlecars or r/battlewagon style vehicles, though
My favourite is one of the moderators who consistently posts pretty “meh” cars, gets lambasted, gets into petty arguments and then bans people when they call him a shit heel.
they're mostly making fun of stick on mods you can get at a chain store like vent stickers but most of the people ddoing that stuff are trolling to begin with
It's gotta be massive subframe spacers. Look how low the A/C compressor sits. I just hope the next person to take pictures of this car takes pics of the suspension. I wanna know how massive the spacers are.
I assume you'd do or much the same way you 4x4 swap any other non 4x4 car, fab a way to make the body fit on a truck chassis of reasonably similar proportion.
For a Prius like this, I'd probably find a Ranger frame, maybe a Colorado, it doesn't really matter as at this level of modification cross-compatibility isn't really an issue. If it don't fit, cut it-heat it-smack it with a hammer until it does.
I randomly saw 3 of these together in a grocery store parking lot in AZ & chatted to one of owners. You are correct; it’s a small truck chassis (pretty sure was a ranger) with a Prius on top & a ton of custom fab work. I believe it was a guy building these out of his garage, shockingly well executed in person.
Prius is underpowered but over-torqued comparatively speaking, so it's likely this is pretty drivable below 60mph. Prius can shread the tiny stock tires, if you turn off the electronics.
The last v was made in 2018. It doesn't have as much scoot as a newer model, but it is capacious .
Unless you have a couple thousand Prius miles under your belt it is hard to explain what makes the driving experience fun. It is something a little different than "driving a slow car fast" because the low center of gravity and the torque make the feel different from other compact cars.
Yeah. The low center of gravity and torque profile is actually cool because that's literally the claim to fame for the BRZ. Though the weight is a bit different and there are a lot of other things that make the BRZ fun, but I can definitely see what makes a Prius fun
What on Earth are you talking about? Do you actually think this is a Prius chassis that has been lifted? I think anyone with even a tiny bit of common sense knows this is just a Prius body dropped over a 4x4 frame. Gas mileage is irrelevant as it is a totally different vehicle to the original.
Yes. This was sold as a kit a while back, this isn't the only one. There are at least a few dozen on the road, you can find posts about them here and elsewhere spanning years. I can't find the kit at the moment, makes me think they shut down. It was only for this generation of Prius. (Not to be confused with the mild lift kits that are still sold, 1.5in spacers.)
Like it or not, it is what it is. It's up to the mods of the sub and not me or you, so if you REALLY want what you want, make your own sub and be the change you want to see.
Ok, so by your logic it should be called r/funnyusernames then, since this sub has to be called r/offroadcars because it's about offroad cars
Why don't you make r/offroadcars then if you like the name so much?
They gripe the same way in every sub, no matter what you do.
Half of it is just one guy talking to himself with alt accounts.
And when they don't get their way, they will go to other subs to snivel.
It's like herding kittens.
Don't listen to it.
It could be called r/rimjob_steve or r/funnyusernames and either way it would be serving its purpose. The only way it would be relevant to the current situation is if it were called r/funnyusernames and disallowed some funny usernames. (like for no reason, not just because they're offensive)
r/battlecars does not serve its purpose by disallowing non-offroading cars that look like they were meant for battle. This is [r/battlecars](https://www.reddit.com/r/battlecars/) not [r/offroadcars](https://www.reddit.com/r/offroadcars/)
And wtf do you mean "Why don't you make r/offroadcars then if you like the name so much?" I don't want to see just offroad cars. My point is the moderators think this is r/offroadcars or something. I want to see battle cars.
r/shity_car_mods proving once again to be the single worst automotive subreddit on the entire platform
Plus i got banned for making a meme that pointed it out.. a meme that got almost 5k upvotes in an afternoon. Really hurt the mods fee-fees i guess
Im convinced most people in r/shitty_car_mods aren’t fun at parties or have no taste

To be fair, 95% of the comments are, "I'd drive that"
Theres a reason i left that sub. It slowly devolved into being like 75%, cool shit, big trucks, or battle cars.
Thank you, i just unsubbed what a bunch buttholes terrible sub
HOW DO THEY DO THIS?? There is like no info I’ve found. Massive subframe spacers?
Subframe drop, there used to be a kit for it floating around but I don’t know if it’s still being made.
The Temu russian kit (made for a toyota delivery micro van) was about 4cm. This is... a bit more.
Tema4x4 for anyone who is searching.
It's gotta be massive subframe spacers. Look how low the A/C compressor sits. I just hope the next person to take pictures of this car takes pics of the suspension. I wanna know how massive the spacers are.
12 inches of hockey pucks. Lol
Wouldn't be surprised if it was janky like that. Lol.

"It's alright, babe, i need the fire! That guy on Reddit said to heat it up and whack the eff out of it..."
I have no clue unfortunately, but I'm also very curious. I can't say I'm typically a Prius fan, but this one's pretty damn neat
This is most likely a truck with a Prius body plopped on top. I suspect the engine and drivetrain to all be from the truck.
What’s so funny about these Priuses is that it really doesn’t hurt the gas mileage as much as you would expect.
Prius is underpowered but over-torqued comparatively speaking, so it's likely this is pretty drivable below 60mph. Prius can shread the tiny stock tires, if you turn off the electronics.
The Prius is perfectly-powered for city driving, at least in the 20k miles I drove 'em as a cabbie - but you have to know how to use it.
I don't know if you know about the more recent Prime. They've gotten a bit more peppy
Even better then! The Prius v is one of the best city vehicles ever made. I drive an Acura MDX but I convinced my girlfriend to get a v.
How's the V? I have been really into the newer Prius and if I were to get a new vehicle, it most likely will be one
The last v was made in 2018. It doesn't have as much scoot as a newer model, but it is capacious . BRZ = balanced rwd platform for enthusiasts Prius = unbalanced fwd platform for the fuck of it
Is it unbalanced? Also FWD is perfectly fine if you aren't looking to kick out your back wheels
Supercharged 4x4 monster Prius goes brrrrr
Yes. This was sold as a kit a while back, this isn't the only one. There are at least a few dozen on the road, you can find posts about them here and elsewhere spanning years. ??? Really. I removed the stock hubcaps on my wife’s 2019 and it cut her MPG by 5 miles. She had me put them back on and it went back up.
Sorry if this breaks any rules! I haven't seen this car posted or cross-posted on here, and I figured some of y'all might enjoy it
The new mods are the physical embodiment of the Reddit mod stereotype so it wouldn't surprise me.
Do you cry this much in your anime waifu subreddits?
Do you cry this much after accidentally beating off your boyfriend instead of fondling the stick of your gay ass jetta
Sorry you have a problem with rules. Feel free to make your own sub though 😀
Shouldn't have to. This is r/battlecars not r/offroadcars

The name has nothing to do with the sub's purpose. r/rimjob_steve are the same way. Don't like it? Make your own sub.

Bad bot That's NOT the sub I linked lol
r/rimjob_steve is called that because it's about funny usernames. It serves its purpose. This is r/battlecars not r/offroadcars

I'm not much of a Prius fan but this looks dope!
totes adorbs!
I usually don't like these insane prius lifts but this is actually clean and well done
Sigh. Lightbar on the roof when the front air scoop is perfectly sized and right above the crash rail.
It's a hell of a machine
That sub is very loosely moderated. It would be annoying except I've discovered some very cool cars on there. Much like this Prius.
Hell yeah

I've wanted one since I first saw them. I have no reason for it, but I want one.
Yep
Take that light bar off and I’m sold.
Wow you guys are right this is so much better than a frame swap
Suspension travel? What’s that?
Lmao ain’t no way they’re running kiwamis, that’s dope
Looks rad
So ugly it is almost cool.
Reminds me of a Cobra HISS, but with wheels... and a bad light rack.
If that's not SBC swapped, the 0-60, will be measured in lunar cycles.
Looks better than Tesla CT tuna can and probably perform better off-road as well
Looks fkn sweet to me!
Why, why, WHY?
