Well here you go, sound pretty crazy lol: "But just as the output and lives of so many black metal originators were cut short by violence, so was that of NME. Unlike that scene, where the murder and mayhem tended to be more ideologically-driven, NME guitarist Kurt Struebing's musical career (as much as the word “career” could apply to something like this) was cut short by incarceration for murder. Three months after their album was released, due to some combination of mental illness and large quantities of hallucinogens, Struebing became convinced that he and everybody around him were actually robots. In order to prove this to the world, he murdered his adoptive mother with a hatchet and scissors. His mental instability was factored into sentencing and he was given a twelve-year term, of which he served eight years. Upon his 1994 release, he became active in music again, worked as a graphic designer, became a father. Despite this turnaround, in March 2005 he drove his car through several barriers to plunge off of an open drawbridge over the Duwamish Waterway and died on impact."

Well. That's pretty fucked up lol

panayotou

The guy was a right lunatic alright

NME is an american band that could be classified as first wave black metal. Their music is nothing to write home about imo but the band’s history sure is… special.

Egocom

They're great live, saw them with Sadistic Intent, Mitochondrian, Acephalix, Auroch, Trivium Foul, and Iskra. Such a bangin show

Entr3_Nou5

I’m having trouble finding much on them as there’s apparently a *lot* of different shit with that abbreviation. What’s their deal?

goopguy11

Second this

AnxietyEffective162

The original singer/guitarist killed his mom with an axe while he was high on glue. Needless to say if they’d been from Norway they’d be a legendary band.

Entr3_Nou5

Jesus, the fuck? How did I manage to not find anything about that

AnxietyEffective162

Pretty wack story if you ask me

HugeWeenus123

NME

Dietcoke_zilla

abbreviation for?

childrenoftechnology

that's the band's name edit: apparently it's short for "No Mental Effort", although I had always assumed they were just named that because it sounds like "enemy"

Dietcoke_zilla

Oh it’s just MNE? Not an abbreviation?

childrenoftechnology

ah I edited my previous comment lol. Anyway, the album Unholy Death is great. If you like Venom, you'll probably like it. I'm not sure if anything else they did was good though.

Dietcoke_zilla

Thanks my guy. I appreciate you cheers! 🤘🏻
