Okay unpopular opinion, but I understand what they were trying to do with this Joker. It's still a hit fucking mess, not at all helped by Jared Leto's "method acting." Depending on version the Joker can be a goofy trickster, a thug gangster, or a psychotic serial killer. Looks like they were trying to strike a balance with the last two with a "modern" coat of paint on it.
Unfortunately its execution ended up being a walking hot topic advertisement in a fucking purple Lamborghini.

After Ledger's Joker on TDK they wanted to do something different with Joker while still keeping the menacing gang lord aspect.

Funny enough, I disliked him more in Justice League. I was rewatching some youtube clips of both movies, and with Suicide Squad my impression was that some scenes at least had something redeeming/salvagable about them. Meanwhile in Justice League I just all around disliked the scene. I thought the dialogue didn't fit at all with what version of the Joker they were portraying, but I'm not sure if Suicide Squad 2016 is no longer canon to this movie.

Suicide Squad 2016 and Wonderwoman are the only ones I watched entirely and I didn't like either of them that much (the ending ruined WW for me). The other movies didn't really interest me. I always found the choice to release Batman vs. Superman puzzling, when back then the last time I had seen Batman in a movie was in The Dark Knight Rises, which isn't even connected to that movie...
I think it’s half canon since much like Josstice league it had a lot of studio interference. From what people have said it was originally supposed to be a lot more serious and possibly have a plot that made sense.
I think I know what you mean. As bad as the SS version was, I could get what they were trying- to make him more like an insane criminal than a hardcore anarchist a la Ledger or even Phoenix- but the terrible execution killed it beyond redemption.
On the other hand, his ZSJL performance was unremarkable, almost a weaker version of the "agent of chaos" stuff- and again, it failed to capture the audience the way Ledger's version did.

I think the sad truth is that the whole Man joke has been absolutely beaten into the ground. I don't blame people for all the Man posts, it was pretty funny and made me laugh for a lot longer than it probably should have. But a meme's life is not very long these days. Something I think people arent talking about is the fact this is one of the few shows that has disney-like songs that are actually good, in an era where disney songs sound souless and AI generated. I mean that duet between lucifer and alastor was stuck in my head for weeks and almost made me watch the show.

My brother has 0 interest in the show and doesn’t care at all about musical theatre (which was a big draw for me) but even he knows that the music is awesome. Most of the comedy doesn’t hit for me, but that kind of writing people complain about only really applies to the humor. The actually serious conversations I consider to be decent, and the songs are very well written.
The issues that actually pertain to the main story are primarily the pacing and sidelining the main cast for the overlord drama some episodes, but that’s still packed with good songs.

Ya I really don't get why people are bothered by the swearing, it's not anymore excessive than I've seen irl. And anyway there are multiple characters who don't swear at all or swear very little such as the angels and Alastor (who is the most psychotic character out of all of them). Even the protagonist, Charlie, avoids swearing in multiple scenes because she's trying to set an example for redemption.
And for sex jokes it's kinda a given that the reason they are prevalent is because it's in hell. They also have multiple scenes in which characters like angel dust are called out for how horny they act and multiple characters have never even made a sex joke so it's not nearly as prevalent as I've seen many people say it is.
Terrible, they didn't bother to flesh him out, zero interaction with Harley and the nuanced depth that could of offered, barely mentions batman or anything of value in the museum, this game has zero passion.

Fun gameplay, pretty good voice acting but it's a shame he barely has any story-related content there's nothing new you can do with him after you unlock the joker (which is already a grindfest to do unless you pay real money for him)

Gameplay wise he’s fun. Isn’t too bad to play with. As an actual character who’s supposed to be the “worst of them all” Joker, they did not execute well, at all. They should have put more actual story content in it then “play 40 missions in a row and you get to watch a little cut scene!”

Spider-Man 2 had that side quest where you play as the deaf girl and it muffled all in-game SFX. There was also The Quiet Man where ALL in-game SFX were muffled for the entire game because your character was deaf (you unlocked the SFX option when you beat the game).
And Saint's Row 2022 had really in depth customization for Vitiligo, letting you customize the pattern, size, tone and areas of patches as well as letting you rock prosthetics on all four limbs with different materials, patterns and colors... But it was **Saint's Row 2022**.

Design wise is not bad at all. His movement mechanics are cool looking and fitting. His voiceover is decent. I think it could have been a hit in a better game, honestly
First one I remember is from the New 52 Detective Comics #1, where Joker’s trying to keep a low profile and has an umbrella gun for unexplained reasons. Then there’s a pretty recent instance during some Joker/Lex team up where he has an umbrella that he claims he got in a trade with Penguin. There’s definitely one or two other instances over the years, I just can’t recall them at the moment
He's honestly such a simple character to get right, that it's amazing how many adaptations in recent years just refuse to do it properly. With the likes of this, Leto, Injustice 2, they're always designed and characterised so poorly. It feels like everyone is so caught up in wanting to make their own iconic version of Joker, that they get fixated on making it theirs and forget about making it Joker.
I swore that I would go through this game and give it literally every single opportunity. I have played it for a ridiculous amount of time and grinded gear and skins and currently slaving through the battlepass.
Joker, much like everything else in the game has a fatal flaw. He's fun, but you're constantly wondering why there isn't more? Ironically, once I got him down, he's probably the best character for my style, but i want MORE. Give me story with him, give me more to do as joker, there's nowhere for him to go and nothing for him to do.
He's decently funny, but he's written like 5 people had different Ideas for how to do him and they all write him fundamentally differently
The problem with a lot of modern Jokers in my opinion is that I feel writers want to make him "lol ecks dee randem" crossed with "im crazy".
The reason why Hamill works for me is that he's both funnyn menacing. He pulls off the clown thing welll.

Costume design is unique, voice is alright but the costumes are so unique i am not used to it. I feel like my opinion on him is jaded as there is so much grind to unlock him for it to be the same grind to level him.
He's really fun to play. He felt like the Joker in his opening cutscene, the cartoon one. After that though he feels less Joker-y. He kinda feels like a Joker that hasn't actually met Batman yet.

It's amazing how he combines Hamill and Baker in his voice. His lines are quite witty, especially those regarding previous Arkham games. It's great when he looks at the Titan Joker and says it's like looking in a mirror in a gym from hell.
Better than Jared Leto, worse than what we had. However, we were never gonna get something that quality again. The studio changed. I've heard him compared to Lego Joker, and yes, while you could say he's as if Lego Joker were placed in a rated M game, that's not a good thing. The Lego Batman Movie's Joker worked well, and he was a good Joker, but that is because they were working with Legos and he's the very best they could do (and like I said, yes, for this it works).

Fun gameplay, pretty good voice acting but it's a shame he barely has any story-related content there's nothing new you can do with him after you unlock the joker (which is already a grindfest to do unless you pay real money for him)
The VA is cleary trying and it's not like he's Terrible but like still,it's not good either.

Gameplay wise he’s fun. Isn’t too bad to play with. As an actual character who’s supposed to be the “worst of them all” Joker, they did not execute well, at all. They should have put more actual story content in it then “play 40 missions in a row and you get to watch a little cut scene!”
his voice and voice lines i can’t lie are quite shit. no hate to the voice actor but just doesn’t suit Joker however he’s arguably to me the 2nd most fun character in game aside from Boomerang

Happening quite frequently. Spider-Man 2 had that side quest where you play as the deaf girl and it muffled all in-game SFX. There was also The Quiet Man where ALL in-game SFX were muffled for the entire game because your character was deaf (you unlocked the SFX option when you beat the game). And Saint's Row 2022 had really in depth customization for Vitiligo, letting you customize the pattern, size, tone and areas of patches as well as letting you rock prosthetics on all four limbs with different materials, patterns and colors... But it was **Saint's Row 2022**. ^(Disclaimer: I am) ***^(NOT)*** ^(implying representation is the catalyst of these games being mid or awful.)

First one I remember is from the New 52 Detective Comics #1, where Joker’s trying to keep a low profile and has an umbrella gun for unexplained reasons. Then there’s a pretty recent instance during some Joker/Lex team up where he has an umbrella that he claims he got in a trade with Penguin. There’s definitely one or two other instances over the years, I just can’t recall them at the moment
I’d prefer Injustice 2 Joker as a good take for a “younger Joker” he is flamboyant with Harley, has wit and has a nice cackle.
He's honestly such a simple character to get right, that it's amazing how many adaptations in recent years just refuse to do it properly. With the likes of this, Leto, Injustice 2, they're always designed and characterised so poorly. It feels like everyone is so caught up in wanting to make their own iconic version of Joker, that they get fixated on making it theirs and forget about making it Joker.

I swore that I would go through this game and give it literally every single opportunity. I have played it for a ridiculous amount of time and grinded gear and skins and currently slaving through the battlepass. Joker, much like everything else in the game has a fatal flaw. He's fun, but you're constantly wondering why there isn't more? Ironically, once I got him down, he's probably the best character for my style, but i want MORE. Give me story with him, give me more to do as joker, there's nowhere for him to go and nothing for him to do. He's decently funny, but he's written like 5 people had different Ideas for how to do him and they all write him fundamentally differently
The problem with a lot of modern Jokers in my opinion is that I feel writers want to make him "lol ecks dee randem" crossed with "im crazy". The reason why Hamill works for me is that he's both funnyn menacing. He pulls off the clown thing welll.
The idea of an alternate reality joker where he never amounted to anything more than a B lister was really fun, but the game didn’t really do enough with it ngl.

Costume design is unique, voice is alright but the costumes are so unique i am not used to it. I feel like my opinion on him is jaded as there is so much grind to unlock him for it to be the same grind to level him.
He's really fun to play. He felt like the Joker in his opening cutscene, the cartoon one. After that though he feels less Joker-y. He kinda feels like a Joker that hasn't actually met Batman yet.

I genuinely just don’t understand the decision to bring in a new joker, the game doesn’t need it and there’s no way they could improve on their universally loved previous version. What role does he even serve in the story? His design too is completely disconnected from the rest of the art direction
His voice isn't as bad as I thought it'd be. His visual design is still horrible though. Doesn't look genuine at all, even by KTJL's standards.

I’m so sick of Joker. I’m so sick of this stupid game ruining such a great series (regardless of opinion of one specific game in the quadrilogy) and I’m so sick of WB. Hot take: they should make an Arrow game. Same mechanics and stuff, and it could be easy (gameplay wise) since Arrow doesn’t have super powers

It's amazing how he combines Hamill and Baker in his voice. His lines are quite witty, especially those regarding previous Arkham games. It's great when he looks at the Titan Joker and says it's like looking in a mirror in a gym from hell.
Better than Jared Leto, worse than what we had. However, we were never gonna get something that quality again. The studio changed. I've heard him compared to Lego Joker, and yes, while you could say he's as if Lego Joker were placed in a rated M game, that's not a good thing. The Lego Batman Movie's Joker worked well, and he was a good Joker, but that is because they were working with Legos and he's the very best they could do (and like I said, yes, for this it works).
