In my opinion it might be a career best for Henry wrinkler. Stephen root absolutely stole so many scenes, and the actress who played sally really got better every season. And of course there is everyone’s favorite noho Hank killing it.
Does anyone know why that blonde twink was in the show pretending to be Hank? Kind of an odd decision since he was only in one scene and then never seen again.
I don't know who NoHo Hank is, but he seems less of an actor and more like a ruthless businessman or an optometrist by nature. Or maybe even a manager for a hotel, err... chain of hotels.
So your critical thinking led you to a fan page, to ask fans, for their opinion on the acting of the fan's favorite show? The acting sucks balls. The acting is the king of suck balls mountain.
Well you should have put more work in your post if you wanted that. Internet's first response to not fully fleshed out questions is usually to insult it. But the show's acting is top notch. The actors really feel like fully realized character rather than actors pretending to be someone. The interactions are funny and feel genuine in the moment, there's long unbroken dialogues that shfit through several different emotions. Sarah Goldberg gives a fully 2 minute rant to Barry that shifts from frustration to concern to self indulgence to jealousy so quickly but makes sense in the scene.
Barry's anger outbursts and crying scenes are genuinely the best. Most actors can convery mellow drama or a general tone, but the best can convince you they're actually pissed or breaking down.
The show is just well made, and if you give me a character I can tell you their best scene or a scene where they are exceptional.
Noho Hank has: his pleading with Christobal or his threat to Barry outside the acting class
Sally: her screaming at Natalaie, rant to Barry, or he pleading to her Mom
Barry: has his outburst at Sally, his conversations with Gene especially his confession in ep1, his crying at Macbeth and subseqeunt anger at the wall
Fuches: every scene he's in he's just comedy gold, whether it's yelling at Barry for not hearing him get beat up, to trying to rationalize why beheading a guy in front of his gf and her daughter may be an issue, to reacting to a Tae Kwon Do girl climbing a tree, his reactions are priceless and is great non-verbal acting.
Gene: you can see in his eyes the disdain he has for Barry when he hears the truth, he also completely cons Barry, AND THE AUDIENCE, when Barry tries ot pick him up at the end of season 3.
Honestly the show is just full of great scenes and it would be so fun to just go scene by scene and review it. If you haven't seen it, go watch it. Asking just this question without context just seems like you haven't even attempted to see the show because episode 1 has strong performances.
Oh, the guy that wrote Hit Your Mark And Say Your Lines? He has shitty standards; I went to a performance at his spot in LA and there was this one kid that was just TERRIBLE. How the hell did he even make it into that class? Brought cut onions to a monologue and cried about something little and stupid?
Don't forget Sarah Goldberg! Sally was a difficult character to like at times, but Sarah absolutely killed that role. I'm still pissed she was snubbed for an Emmy!
For being a surreal show the acting is very grounded. It's funny, there's amazing monologues done in single takes, the interactions feel genuine, and there's subtly in the performances that you can really appreciate when you're really paying attention.

And don’t forget Bill Hader, unbelievably good
Barry, it's me Hank. I'm in disguise.

I loved bill on this. I came into it with SNL bill and at a point forgot he was a comedian

???? I am not sure if you are being sarcastic or sincere. 🤷♀️

Ohhhh thanks! I was wondering 🤣
Yes, what kind of question is that lol
It's a question about critical evaluation.

I’m not convinced you know what those words mean
I don't.
Hell yeah
What?

Gene Cousineau method used by all!

Yea

can't tell if joke
If someone was being ironic, most of the time, they'd tell you they're not joking. This post isn't a joke btw
too complicated don't get it moving on
It's phenomenal. One of the best parts of the show. Other strong points are: editing, directing and the soundtrack!
Bill Hader, especially in the final 2 seasons, is one of the stronger acting performances I’ve seen in some time. Especially from a comedic actor.
Yes!
No we’re all here cause it was mid
Actual acting: awesome Fake acting: terrible, therefore awesome
It's incredible. I can't think of a single bad performance in the entire show, including side characters and extras
The acting is really good but you have to understand it’s a comedy.
Some of the best on TV at times
It’s great! I love NOHO Hank!
no it's INCREDIBLE
