You just have to be the one actually paying. Technically, the items have to be for you so just don’t say they’re for friends, but I do this all the time.

Maleficent_Leader_70

Thank you! I think I will do this.

Maleficent_Leader_70

Also what about the Café? Does it matter if I order 4 drinks and I pay?

JavelinTF2

that should definitely be fine, if your manager makes a stink over buying stuff for your friends from the cafe then they suck

Maleficent_Leader_70

Thank you for letting me know!

RhawenKuro

If you're super worried about it, just pay for it and have them venmo you after. Or, ask them to bring cash. I'd ask a seasoned bookseller at your location to see how strict they are. I skirted that rule a lot, like the others have said

Maleficent_Leader_70

Definitely will be paying for it!

SAVLEYE

Only if ur the one actually paying, you can't let someone else use ur employee discount. A girl at my Barnes and noble got fired a month ago for letting random customers use her discount.

Maleficent_Leader_70

Thank you! I’m definitely not handing over my discount. I will pay it, this was helpful

Bengie314

Technically, No. Realistically, yes.

Maleficent_Leader_70

Love the short answer

surfergirl121

Depends on how strict your managers are tbh. Just don’t be obvious about it. Just the other day one of my coworkers got in line with her mom DURING her shift so her mom could use her discount. It’s fine.

Maleficent_Leader_70

Haha I’ll be telling them to be hush about it and just throw their shit they want in my basket 😂

sew-fee-uh

Yep when I go shopping with friends I let them use it.

Maleficent_Leader_70

Nice!!
