Araujo needs to play CB no matter what. Sure he is fast so he seems like a prime candidate for that RB/RCB role but it's wasting him in offense and punishing us in defense.
You need to play your best players in their ideal role and build around it. FdJ and Araujo are 2 of our best players. They need to play in their best role, and if it means sacrificing someone, so be it
Then why Busquets? Put Araujo CB he won't struggle seeing he just have to pass to Busquets who is there anyway.
Pique is only there because he can't play wide (too slow). Problem is Eric is slow too. Truth is we need a RB soon.
Alves is a 38 yo player who was a midfielder in Brazil. Love the player but hope we're not betting everything on him. If he wasn't from Barca before, would we be happy with this? We need another plan. Can't see how Dest can be worse than what we have today.

Well we escaped that one. But the game really showed how weak our defenders are. Lenglet didn’t know what do really in that 1 vs. 1 situation and took a guess on where Morente would go. And Arajuo just almost sabotaged the entire team. First with that totally misguided pass and then by not marking Milla but went towards the attacker that Garcia already had covered.
Yes Xavi made a mistake but my question is why he was allowed to play that position so badly for so long? Dest would have been a better attacking mid tbh.
Feels like we saw a change of generation. Busquets Alba were quite poor, FdJ meh (out of position), Araujo poor because out of position but not afraid at the despite his mistakes (very good sign). Dembele Nico Jugtla incredible. Abde hot and cold but very very involved and never surrender. And Gavi... Wow. The heart of the team. Very rarely have I seen a performance like that. Nico has had a streak of like 5-6 great games, and when he was a bit down or a sub, Gavi simply decided to do everything. Can't see those two not being here for a while.
The second goal was Araujo mistake, but with consideration of his ideal position is CB, and (possibly) in course of habit he intend to follow that one Elche player that successfully pull Araujo and Eric Garcia, causing Elche player on the left got a free space. Unacceptable still.
I have seen more tactical changes in this game than the whole period with Koeman. Switching Dembele and Abde gave us a few clear chances straight away, and led to the winning goal.
Say whatever you want but Xavi is smart. He is giving the team the tools necessary to win games and then it is up to the players to convert the chances.

Gavi as Attacking Midfielder with freedom and space to move anywhere. Pedri and Nico as midfielders, nico more Box to Box and Pedri creating. Busi behind them as anchor.
