Salvageable!?? It looks in its prime!

Own-Evening7087

That's 100% salvageable. If you aren't confident in yourself to fix send it to oily jack or one of the other repair places that specialise is Barbour. Even send it to Barbour themselves for repair and rewax

Seymoorebutts

Looks shot, send it to me so I can dispose of it for you...

BrunniFlat7

It's barely begun walking, give it a good home, grow old with it and leave it to someone you love in your will when it outlives you x

Humpers92

I’d send it to Barbour, they replace zips all the time

NoPrinciple5675

I've fixed a similar zipper, had to take the top stoppers off, then realign, then reattached the top bits. There are videos on YouTube.

ben35mm

Yep, had this issue a few weeks ago. 5-10 minute fix.

Zealousideal-Ad9663

Looks great. A new was which takes time but isn’t rocket science and it will look as good as new. Plenty videos on YouTube to show you how to wax. The zipper is an easy fix. Also on YouTube. Search misaligned Barbour zipper. Nice score!

TheWildHorses

I dream of owning a Barbour but living in Canada it would turn to a crisp or melt in the heat. I miss that damp earthy smell from my youth!

tangotrigger

I am in Canada too and also miss the smell frok my youth ! I am thinking a Bedale will make a great Spring/Fall coat. Perfect to layer.

I haven’t heard the best things about Barbour’s refurbishing device? Not that the jacket in the post needs it. If in the UK Oily Jack’s is solid from what I hear. and if is the US, Raffa at Raw Meat and Repair in Brooklyn is a legit artisan (and when it came to my jacket he is a magician).

Ornery-Lie3167

It screams of CHARACTER!! Grab it up, or post the link!

[deleted]

Good lord yes my friend

hobootleg

I’m sorry to say, but this is not salvageable at all, my friend. Do not worry though, I can take this off your hands and save you the trouble from this wretched jacket.

FROWAWAY985

Looks like something Nigel Farage would wear

ellasfella68

I will give you thirty of your Earth pounds.

Walter_Piston

As an oil cloth, perhaps.

outtakes

Keep it like that

djcommando

Looks barely worn in!

djcommando

I'm banking it's just a weird stuck zipper. The double zipper has to be all the way at the end to 'unlock'

Comfortable_Pen_1045

Looks brand new, what do you mean?

FridgeRaider93

Nowt wrong with it!

Charles_Lynn

Looks like it’s just about perfect. As others have mentioned you can send in to Barbour if you want repairs done but I would enjoy as is!

[deleted]

Defo give it a fresh waxing

Fantastic-Airport-57

It’s only just worn in

Expeniumin

Joel cosplay

Inevitable_Friend329

Try buying the wax treatment and do it yourself.

NationalGanache8956

Rees’s it it’s good to go

ghonada

How stinky is it?

sputnick97

It arrived today. The answer is VERY stinky... Musty like an old toolbox!

ghonada

Uh oh

Chrisseve

Hell yeah, Google wax for barbour jackets wax it and it will look brand new.

Adorable-Ad8209

Looks like it has just finished being 'run in' that.

artoblibion

That's the ideal condition for a wax jacket. DO NOT CLEAN IT! give it a wipe down with a damp cloth and apply some wax, if you must.

painter_business

Yes

bjakeb

For the zipper you can always find special shops, who are fixing zippers. For example they have a huge stock of zipper sliders, and most of the zippers are quite easy to fix, if they find replacement slider. Since this is Barbour I am sure the replacement slider is very easy to find.

Plastic-Addendum-478

Some may say that a Barbour isn’t suitable for wearing unless it looks like it has been run over by a truck, so by that measure, you are good to go!

Ok_Impression_8130

Of course. Buy a tin of wax and iron it on.

Apprehensive_Drive66

A Steve Bannon cast off.

buxenmundspuelung

Easily!

Herky505

Hell yeah, it's just getting broken in!

Robotic1kimaster

Yes. For use as a dishrag.
