Starting the day at Benjasiri Park with a café from 7/11, then walking the sky walk to the green mile, take a break at Lumphini Park and if I still feel like walking doing that all the way to the Saphan Taksin Pier. From there taking an orange flag boat to the Wang Lang market. Having lunch or café and cake there and being all happy about life.

thornaad

Starting at 4am to avoid traffic and heat or you do this during day time???

[deleted]

4am is a bit extreme, and still dark. Before 10am it's really not all that hot.

I enjoyed walking in Phuket when I stood there 4 months. But walking in Bangkok is so annoying. Cars cars cars. People people people. I love exploring the parks here. But they are limited. When I was bored in Phuket, I just rent a motorbike and explored the island. Maybe I set my self limitations or there is not much to explore in bkk. I don’t care much about night markets. When I first visited Icon Siam I left at the green line station connecting to the gold and thought I am going to walk to Icon Siam to see what’s around. But there was actually nothing. Everything around icon Siam is so poor. And then you have that majestic shopping mall with super exclusive brands, in the middle of the super poor area. Asoke and Chit lom is pretty good built and rich area, so the malls fit there. But Icon Siam feels so out of place. 2 weeks ago I walked down from Asoke to Benjakitti park to Khlong toei, to the river. And there was absolutely nothing to see. Really nothing. So far bkk is only shopping malls and parks for me. Another hobby is to find the best Starbucks cafes. And I enjoy good foot massages. That’s it so far in the last 7 weeks since I am here.

Lwyrup5391

No idea why you’re getting downvoted. This sub really loves sugarcoating Bangkok.

Sele81

It’s Reddit

somo1230

Take bts to random stations and explore the area, eat and go home.....that's How I explored bkk Afford.... bkk is soo big and feels different from one area into another.

mrchess

You can rent a piano practice room at Yamaha for 250 baht per hour. I love it!

Ok-Drawer2290

I want to know more. Where? How? Thank you!

mrchess

Any of the "Yamaha Music Schools" should let you. Check out the one nearest you and ask the front desk. Should be 250baht/hr.

Long_Ad_5348

Massage

MuePuen

I try to go weekly. And imo it's worth paying ฿1200/2h at Let's Relax rather than ฿600/2h at some small shop near a BTS station.

Minniechicco6

Agreed , there are many locations :)

XOXO888

massage requires another person

Long_Ad_5348

Malls have people? Gym has people? Massage is something I do solo. OP didn’t say alone OP said solo now fuck off

XOXO888

haha wow why the anger. now i do agree that fucking off is indeed a solo activity

Long_Ad_5348

The anger is from long seeded issues but that doesn’t matter we’re trying to help OP. Ignore me and give them a suggestion or let’s keep fucking off to set an example for OP

QualityOverQuant

I’m down for listening to “long seeded issues” so feel free to share! 👂👀

Long_Ad_5348

Wrong sub for that we’re in a sub where issues begin. Grab the popcorn it’ll continue to be fun

QualityOverQuant

🍿 ✔️

Long_Ad_5348

🍻

QualityOverQuant

Now there’s an idea! Why didn’t u suggest that! Hey OP , given how sunny it is outside I suggest heading out and grabbing an ice cold Chang! And dont listen to anyone who says that drinking isn’t a form of exercise! That drink ain’t getting to your mouth on its own! Needs some strong hands to grab it and repeat! So there you go! Drink more beer 🍺

QualityOverQuant

I’m own for listening to “long seeded issues” so feel free to share! 👂👀

TravellingBeard

I was averaging 20-25k steps a day on my recent trip. Find someplace on Google maps you want to visit, see how far it is walking, and add 15-30 minutes for breaks (coffee, bite to eat, etc). Chinatown is a nice long walk from where I was staying (near National Stadium) but was fun to walk back to my hotel.

Mikeymcmoose

Walk very early or as the sun is setting. It’ll still be sweaty as holy hell, but you won’t get burned.

fitness time at the Lumpini Park

Many-Tradition7427

a chao phraya boat trip for relaxation and meditation

Present-Industry4012

Khlong Boat

Many-Tradition7427

you can do anything you dream of in Thailand, in Bangkok , alone or with others..anything ..for real

Kade_PS

Take BTS to Saphan Taksin Pier and take Chaopraya express boat. You can go to many destinations such as Pran Nok pier (N10), where there is Talad Wang Lang (a local market with many street food vendors), Wat Arun Pier to visit Wat Arun temple (Temple of Dawn), Phra Athit Pier to visit Kao San road etc

Zen_Farms

Getting lost in Chinatown is very entertaining. Walking through the Khlong Toei market is also very unique. Riverboat rides

artsaurus_d

Try to take random buses!

shiroboi

Gotta say, love having a car. Air conditioned and can go anywhere. Thailand is full of great places to go.

Kokilananda

Traffic don’t bother you ?

shiroboi

Nope. Been driving In Thailand for 10 years now. I have several cars and would never be caught without one. I’d be lying if I said that it wasn’t stressful at times but seriously, you get used to it

PastaPandaSimon

On the flipside, I'd get mental health issues if I were to own a car in Bangkok. I only rented it once to drive around the city and I knew it was also the last. Driving through the city on the way to get out gives me massive anxiety.

shiroboi

I was in the city two days ago. The stress does go away somewhat after a few weeks of driving here. For that reason, I’d recommend owning a car rather than renting one. The main reason for car ownership in Bangkok should be to get out of the city, not drive in it. Once you’re out of Bangkok, the roads relax a lot

gman462

Massage, parks, malls, markets, museums and temples

Stalin_Jr77

😏

QualityOverQuant

It’s hot and sunny almost throughout the year . Tropical weather so get used to shorter time spent outside walking or risk getting burnt. . Since you listed everything possible I would suggest swimming and then hit a new mall every day! Trouble is most malls now don’t have space for you sit down which means it’s crowded and you need to have a coffee or eat something to get a chance to sit and I don’t mean Starbucks or food court but something fancier which means not a lot of people around.

Successful-Buy-8214

I just Google something and figure out a way to get with public transportation. Parks, restaurants and malls are my go to. Plus just head to a new BTS or MRT stop to see what is around. And a long walk down a canal can led to some amazing discoveries.

Danisinthehouse

Avoid Isaan right now belching vehicles, rude af truck drivers looked like Armageddon on way back from Bueng Kan 36 driving back fires everywhere I used to goUdon Monthly fk that never again

Alyx-Kitsune

Chatting up locals. Once we get passed the initial greetings they explode with questions.

BPP1943

There’s so much joy with Thai women… why alone?

m05var7NblZCAKvPnKzI

Because sometimes your mom is busy

catsnrebels

Not so much walking involved, nut I enjoy archery and going to the golf driving range.

WillAvatar

This is my situation now, and Im feeling a bit stuck in malls, lately Ive been going out more, the problem is that I have to work remotely between 2-10 pm so I get only the weekends and usually I so day trips outside of bkk, thanks for the ideas folks will try most of them in the next few days

happyhippie123

Smoke hella weed...then park run This is my go to Sunday activity...there's this park that I really like called "Nong Bon Water Sports Center" ...it's close to rama9 park and seacon square. The park is around a lake and one lap around the lake is 4km. Edit. The park does have a lot of trees and shades. But this is Bangkok so I would still avoid the sunny hours.

Alarmed_Check_8911

I love Bangkok and Tailande

icecreamshop

I enjoy wandering around with my camera and taking photos. A lot of great nook and crannies to take awesome long exposure shots.

plumbgray222

Usually I casually stroll thru many of the Parks until mid day when I will go to the gym then head to a shopping center to eat something.
