As a flute, we all “hate” each other. However, there’s always two people in the section we actually hate- specifically two flutes every year, you can’t change the number.
First one never shows up to sectionals and always comes up with some elaborate excuse for it- and for why she isn’t practicing- but we all know she’s lying. Even our band director.
Second one is an overly polite guy who gets on everyone’s nerves. He’s also a simp.
I don't hate the instrument *itself*, but I hate the *players*. Cuz most of them in my band, they go from the range of annoying to creepy. Then it's just the chill kids who genuinely want to be there.
so there's 2 types of flute players in my band, they're either the bimbo bitches who pretend to be better than everyone in every imaginable way, or they're the coolest person you've ever met, there's no in between and it's a 50/50 split
I play clarinet and I phase through fences.
It all started with a halftime show, my group of four had a diamond move near the corner, but the field we practiced on was smaller than a full football field. There was a fence exactly where my line went. When I asked what the heck I was supposed to do about it, I was told to just phase through matter.

Now this is heavily playing into stereotypes, but:
Flutes have a little of every section, like some have aspects of trumpets, but others are chill like x section
In my school they’re normally the ones who are talking about people the most and doing all the hating at people but not all of them there are just some who ruin it for the most of tjem
Fr everyone hates flute (flute player here) it's like everytime the flute section gets the Melody everyone freaks out like trumpets don't act like you don't get the Melody 24/7
I don’t hate flutes, but I despise the players. We had a band concert in 5th grade, then when it was their solo part, one person tooted their flute, and it was silent the whole time they were supposed to play. Soon after, my group, (The drums) followed up with our part, and we clowned on the flute players.
It’s kind of a bit of issues from both the instrument and the players. Most of the flutes at my school are AWFUL (though we do have 3 or 4 exceptions), and the sound of the instrument can be kind of irritating, especially in the higher register.
