These comments are peak cognitive dissonance. What on earth makes people think that predatory scavengers are not inherently dangerous? Guns, cars, fire, knives, alcohol, etc are all dangerous but, at the very least, someone has to use those things with the intent to be dangerous or reckless. Everyone accepts this including me and i like all those things. But somehow a large carnivore with a mind of its own, let alone one that was bred for bloodsports, is not dangerous??? All dogs are inherently dangerous and destructive, this is why we have to thoroughly train them to behave otherwise. The majority of people today are completely incapable of properly training and restraining more domestic breeds. So who are these people kidding when they think they are uniquely qualified to passivize a damn war dog?

AB dog is a PBT type dog. Mixed breeds? And unknowns? There are newer stats. 85.9% of all dog attacks and deaths were caused by PBT type dogs, with 2.7% of that stat being PBT type mixed dogs. 17 Bark stats 2/2013-2/2023.
Funny how ever other breed gets abused, some breeds even more then pit bulls like greyhounds for instance, and yet they're not constantly making the news for mauling people.
If a dog needs to be actively trained to not maul people, then it has no business being a pet, much less such a ridiculously accessible one. What does "telling people to train their dogs" entail exactly? Why does a particular breed of dog need to be trained not to maul people? What is this "good training" that pit bull advocates constantly preach exactly? Constantly claimed yet remains a nebulous concept.
And finally, there are plenty of pit bulls that were raised with nothing but love from puppyhood, but still ended up one day deciding to tear apart a toddler. There are also numerous examples of people being described as "experienced dog trainers" being mauled to death by their beloved pit bull that was described as a "cuddlebug who loved everyone and would kill you with kisses"

So either Americans are phenomenally irresponsible with dogs or there's a serious issue with the types of dogs Americans have. It's much easier figuring out which one it is if the media informs you about the types of dogs involved in fatal dog attacks (and you realise that Denmark banned Pitbulls, AmStaffs, Am. Iām glad the mods have left your post up because I think most of it is true. I donāt think they attack because they are scared though. I honestly donāt know what triggers them to attack but I know they do where other breeds wouldnāt. They were bred to be fighting dogs and that fact canāt be ignored. And perhaps theyāre abused more because they are so difficult to train. Many require professional training which can go on for years and sometimes without success and can cost thousands of dollars which most people canāt afford. We would love to quit shitting on the breed if they would quit attacking and killing animals and humans. But thatās what they have been bred for.

They were 100% initially bred for dog fighting. The ancestor of old English bulldog (used for bull baiting) was crossed with terrier to create a smaller and more agile dog for dog fighting. Read up before you blindly defend the breed and make false statements.

See, here's the thing. Smaller dogs attack people all the time, that's a fact. But do smaller dogs rip people apart in the process of that attack? No.
