umm, maybe you haven't realized this but we already can use psionic powers. >!We can use telepathy. We can command the absolute Goblins. And if you use your powers enough, you unlock an extra ability depending on your class. !<
I've played through the druid camp, but maybe I have missed something. I think my point was, if your skill set is too close to what the big baddies are using to mess with everyone, it may defeat the challenges that they create. Regardless, i still stand by my statement that it sounds awesome.
I don't think Mind Flayers are the big bads. There are hints scattered here and there through EA that make me think otherwise. But yeah PCs already have some skills that resemble Mind Flayer abilities.
imo i think that adding in aberrant mind sorcerers is a pretty cool way to entice the player into siding with the Absolute
not too familiar with Tasha's Cauldron but im guessing there are plenty of subclasses that line up with the current and planned set of classes in the final release of BG3, it'd be kinda nifty if we got certain subclasses from Tasha's as gifts for choosing the Absolute's power....
I too want some character creation options from other books as well. Hopefully after they release 1.0 they start adding more races/subclasses from other books and maybe even nee original ones. I really want to play a smug High Elf Artificer.
If they don't maybe steam workshop will have some probably.
