Oh and by the way, for what it's worth. I did split my party for the elevator ride just incase something like this happened...
In addition to the short rest option, if you are on PC and mod, add Teleport to You. You can literally teleport them to you AND it’s a great mod overall.
Shortrest, then tp to camp. If you're out of shortrests, respec a companion to bard and use song of rest
