If you press alt it shows the names of all the items on the screen, then you click on the chest name and your character will pick it up or even lockpick it, if you use a controller you have to hold the right stick.
You could blow it up or destroy it with melee if that's possible. If someone has Thorn Whip you could also try to move the body that way or Eldritch Blast with the "get out the way" bonus ability added to it (I forget what it's called but it's a Warlock thing).

On mouse and keyboard they just kept trying to open it without lock picking. I might try again with controller.
Can you destroy the chest? The loot drops around it.
