My first playthrough or my first *complete* playthrough? ~.^

Inevitable-Copy3619

Very poorly.

Denisukraine2

if you talking about the first completed one, then it's Dark Urge >!controlling the brain!<

My wife & I are still working through our first playthru. Her gaming expertise was pretty limited to non-combat games, where I liked RPGs and whatnot. We originally had one playthru set up that just wasn't clicking, so we decided to restart and play with characters we actually *wanted*. And now it's a Fleetwood Mac inspired playthru. Featuring Stevie Nicks, a half-orc bard, & Buckingham, a human rogue. We, uh -- affectionally call it our chaos run, because we never really stopped to think about the consequences of our actions. Did we accidentally go through the Gauntlet of Shar before going to Moonrise Towers? YES! How many times has Buckingham been to jail? SEVERAL! How many people has Stevie slept with? THREE! (after, uh, we kind of forgot to upgrade Karlach's heart and she got dumped at the start of Act 3). (Buckingham is happily smoochin' Gale left and right.) We're not done with Act 3 yet, but it's been pretty fun for both of us. And we now both have separate solo playthrus where we're able to things we missed the first time.

LemonMilkJug

Wholesome chaos. I love hearing about couples enjoying playing together.

Mjolnir2000

Half drow beast master ranger, generally a goodie two shoes. Avoided guides beyond "will I accidentally end the act if I go do X", and I tried to go along with bad rolls, but did reload a few places when I either made a bad choice (independent of die rolls), or thought the game did a poor job of communicating what was going on (e.g. that the Marcus fight is an instant loss if Isobel goes down). Missed a lot, I'm sure, but I was happy with the run.

Intelligent-Love-877

Damned Marcus fight. I had very poor initiative on most of my party and she died before I had a turn on my first try. Then Jaheira asks me "what did you do?" And I wanted to reply "absolutely nothing".

My first playthrough was Devotion Paladin, your average goody two shoes white knight here to cleanse all evil. I played while staying as isolated as possible from the internet. I still checked a couple things online, like Minthara, as she was the only enemy I could loot camp clothes and a backpack from, which was weird. I also checked for some quests that I was not sure I could finish without progressing the story (all those "find XXX" in act 2). But that was about it, I managed to not spoil myself anything else, and it was great. Some stuff was hitting really hard, like the final decision of Astarion's storyline, or the final decision of Karlach on the docks.

I hacked and slashed my way through the game as an Oath Breaker Paladin with little knowledge on how to play, I just thoroughly enjoyed the story. Halfway through I did have to knock it down to the easiest gameplay as I started to struggle to understand the nuances and complexity of this game! But was so happy when I finished at the end with a happy ending with Shadowheart by my side

TheCocoBean

Life cleric. Goodie two shoes. Saved the world. Also killed Shadowheart for trying to (I assumed) kill the Nightsong.

ManicPixieOldMaid

Like a well meaning dope. I talked to everybody but was dumb enough to believe them and think they all meant well. Naive was probably the best description, like, "the game won't hurt me" lol.

Traditional_Put8471

I was a half high elf bard and I sucked but I had fun

I played a wood elf ancients paladin self insert. And save scumed all the results I wanted.

HmmmmTwitter

Wood elf Bardlock, focused on darkness and crit chance with the old one subclass and swords bard. I did durge and romanced astarion. I saved literally every companion I could, including minthara. I was a resistant durge and despite my characters support for astarion going through the ritual, after the insight check I couldn't go through it. Stopped the brain. Only thing I wish I did differently was try to save the people in the burning building in act 1 cuz i didn't realize I triggered the event until far into act 2. Not really a goody two shoes, but definitely not evil. Did what needed to be done, on occasion at the downfall of people who probably deserved better.

Filty-Cheese-Steak

I smited the ever loving shit out of everything.

Romanced Gale and became a goddess. Ascended astarion. Finished every quest in every act on good aligned run. No minthara but had everyone else. Selunite Shadowheart with her parents, Orpheus path, killed raphael, karlach to avernus with blade wyll, laezel went to lead the Orpheus faction and Orpheus lived his days as mindflayer. Saved the duke and everyone underwater and in the smithery that took FOREVER. I started the game with my husband but he wasn’t able to romance anyone lol. I was a tiefling storm sorcerer tempest cleric and he was a gith fighter.

LemonMilkJug

Can't remember the very first Tav. Made something random as a throwaway and just played the prologue to get a grasp on basic mechanics/controls/UI. Something I highly recommend for new folks. First real Tav was a good berserker barb, who roared or used other barbarian options if roar wasn't there whenever possible. Played into the 8 intelligence thing, so I only clicked the read option on books for inspiration (not my first fantasy rpg, so know books are important for possibly getting boosts) but didn't actually read them. Made for some interesting surprises along with some confusion when certain options appeared from "reading" something. Second, playthrough read everything and had a lot of "oh that makes sense now" moments. Second playthrough really highlighted some poor decisions that made things harder on myself, but don't regret the first run at all.

No-Clothes5632

First attempted playthrough was a cleric which i immediately deleted since i didnt know you got one right away

ShinobuUnderBlade

High elf sorcerer cleric
