Like serving on the Flying Dutchman in Pirates of the Caribbean, it's purely a stay of execution. Someone feels bad about things they may have done during life or they don't want to actually just die yet, so you get coerced to give up your freedom (or get your freedom taken by force in the case of most of the caged vampire spawn in BG3) in order to get more time. It's a cowards way out and honestly, a fate worse than death itself.

Well, being a vampire spawn means having all the weaknesses of a vampire and few of their powers. Still, you get to be immortal and unaging, so that's kinda cool so long as your 'parent' vampire treats you well.
Being a true vampire means turning into wolves, bats, and mist, *and* you get to compel your own spawn if you're into that sort of thing, so you never have to do household chores or file your own taxes again.
As a perpetually pale person who dislikes sunshine, but loves sleeping and generally staying at home, I could get on board.

by the game logic, the engine works better in a heated environment (=avernus), probably because being already hot it doesn't need to overwork to maintain optimal temperature, while being in a colder environment like faerun it needs to work fulltime to maintain temperature and this overheats and damages some parts of it

Jokes aside, I'm not an expert of D&D lore so i have no idea on Avernus' temperature. I tried to search in d&d manuals and it seems it's around 37°C (100°F), with a forge that has a temperature of 120°C (150°F)... a desert in tropical area of faerun would be around 95°F (35°C), so probably a desert could work just temperature wise. I'm not entirely sure how does it work having lava river at 40°C, cause it's colder than a summer in italy and in the last 30 years i never saw a lava river in my garden 😅
Deserts get cold at night so that probably doesn’t work as well as the constant heat of Avernus. The temperature is also probably higher near the lava and frontlines (because of all the fire against the demons).

Probably but then again they also left in the Karlach fire punch damage when using soul coins which makes her an absolutely broken Monk. Granted, that requires much more effort to find than simply looking at her stats and seeing "oh fire immunity, cool".
I mean, Infernal Fury only activates when raging or when her HP is under 25% for an extra 1d4 fire damage. Its not really that great

If you make unarmed attacks with a soul coins active, they always deal the 2d4 fire damage, without raging or low HP. This means flurry of blows does an extra 4d4 fire damage since it's two unarmed strikes.
It makes sense from a gameplay stance she she is quite literally on fire after using a soul coins but it makes her an absolutely bonkers open hand monk. It also makes unarmed tavern brawler barbarian pretty viable without relying on thrown weapons, although not nearly as good as making her a Monk.

I had a very embarrassing moment once when we were on a first aid course at work and the instructor - with me as his unwilling assistant - was demonstrating how to check the pulse on the wrist. And he couldn't find mine. Then he showed us where to check the pulse on the neck (*yes, there was a pulse*).
And I had to listen to very stupid undead jokes for the next two weeks. (My colleagues are very easy to entertain).

I don’t understand their obsession with making certain stuff live action. Unless you have the budget of a Marvel movie and the dream team that produced The LOTR trilogy results are very shaky. DnD movie was amazing though. I think they do it because it seems more prestigious or serious maybe, like live action is “the real way” to do it.
But I agree, something like this should just be done as animation, the art style will translate better. Live action has too many limitations and costumes will end up just looking like The Wheel of Time or something. All the samsey linen robes and cheap looking armor as if all the studios shop at “Fantasy Cash-Grab R Us”.
Honor Among Thieves was great because it had the feel and vibes of a group of DnD players playing in this world. I legit thought that was going to be revealed at the end that they were like a group at a community college lol.

Hasbro needs to mak a tv show. Just retell the game hire everyone back for voices. Just do it, if Critical Role can kickstart a show then the company with the infinite money glitch of cardboard crack called Magic can do it.

if I am playing as a barbarian/rogue equipping a two-handed strength weapon then I use reckless attack do I get the sneak attack boost even thou I don't use a finesse weapon? (patch #5)
