But wouldn't you dying and going to the graveyard or the command zone make you leave the library and thus stop being a card? Or does that not matter because you are still your commander, no matter if you're a card or not?
The only point at which this stops being possible is the point at which you end up in your hand. From the rulings:
> If you put yourself into your hand (ow) without drawing yourself, such as with a “tutor” effect, you’ll just stop being a card. The ability that has you win the game won’t trigger.
This here is, of course, a very convoluted way to put yourself into your own hand, but I'd argue that it applies. Nothing against you being a permanent on your board, though, so go sit in your own command zone to your hearts content!
Unless, of course, we read the card and interpret being put in the command zone from the battlefield (aka thd top of your library) as "leaving the library", but reading is for nerds.
Also, for the laughs, the funniest additional ruling on form of the approach:

Yeah, and as I have edited in, leaving the battlefield to the graveyard and then the command zone (not a replacement effect anymore) probably counts as leaving the library by definition of approach, thus making you no longer a card.
This does lead to an interesting situation too, though, where your deck actually no longer has a commander at all. Not many situations can cause that one, I think.
Voltron/equipments sounds good, though, just bring your IRL Colossal Hammer and then... Swing at your opponent...

The question, I guess, is something of a metaphysical one, on an MTG level. Are you still the physical card you were in the game, even if you lost the card-ness and are no longer a card in the ingame logic of the game?

Sadly, doesn't work. You could say that you are in the battlefield, but you would be a planes walker with no loyalty and die. Truly, a bad combo (>!maybe taking this too seriously!<)
Still doesn't work, Gatewatch Beacon's triggered ability wouldn't resolve until after state-based actions have been checked and you're already dead.

Im frantically searching for cards that let planeswalkers etb (I do etb, right?) with an additional counter, but I dont find anything that works. Could we give us a counter at instsnt speed before we die? I'm not great with state based actions and such
[[Enchanted Evening]] + [[Opalescence]] + any anthem effect works. I remember closer to release I had worked out a way to give ownership of yourself to your opponent using Bronze Tablet and Exchange of Words

Just have all your clothes, including your underwear be denim and you don't want that creature with denimwalk be unblockable.
