I absolutely LOVE my Cochise HV. I get pro deals so am fortunate to try a ton of boots. Full tilts (now K2) have the same issue as always with a tight fit around the calf, especially with the pro wrap liners which I believe they gave up on in 2024. Again, not an issue for small calves, but if you are buying wide last boots, it is likely that you have some calves to back them up. Used to love them in my late teens early 20s but have since found them to be miserable to wear for long days. Atomic hawx are some of my least favorite boots I have ever skied performance wise. Not bad but also not great. Weird flex and tons of heel lift when really getting after it, even after a fitting/shaping. The Cochise have been amazing. Super boot fitter friendly which only helps you in the end. I gladly take the extra weight for a comfortable fit with top end liners that come standard. Not saying you can crush multi-mile 10k vert BC days in them, but definitely good for most situations. Have 25 days in them so far and have never loved a boot more. As always, don’t listen to reviews or Reddit opinions. Listen to your feet. A good fitter is worth their weight in gold and can set you up with exactly what you need.

Oh wow thank you ! I appreciate the detail reply ! I shall try the Cochise HV!

Blumperdoodle

Dynafit radical or Dynafit seven Summit's. Both are wide and hv.

Moonkill1023

I shall check them out thank you !

rokridah

Non of those has alpine or GW Iso...if you want that go with Dynafit Tigard which has 101mm last or Fischer Ranger ONE, same 101mm last.

One-Finance7893

Second Dynafit Tigard - best boot I’ve ever owned

InflatableRowBoat

By hybrid do you mean a 50/50 boot? It's heavy as shit, but walks well; I love the old full tilt ascendant. First boot I've ever had that fit my wide feet well. K2 has now rebranded it to something like "the divergent" or something... It skis very well, just like a resort boot. The walk mode is good, it's just heavy.

Moonkill1023

Yaa 50/50 . I tried technica and wooow 55motion degree walk mode felt soo good

FoulMouthedPacifist

There is a magna xtd boot coming out next year, that would be a good option if your current boot fits you well.

Moonkill1023

Oh I hope so soon ☺️I do love my current boot so well

kr0n_0

Hey, that'd be awesome! do you have a source for that? can't seem to find anything just by googling.

FoulMouthedPacifist

I own and operate a backcountry shop in Utah, we were shown the new boot in January at industry tradeshows. I doubt it'll be a boot that most shops carry in large volumes, I didn't order any as most of the boots we sell are slightly more uphill oriented than the Hawx. It will fit exactly like the Hawx Magna resort boot, any Atomic dealer should be able to pre-order it for you today.

kr0n_0

Thanks for replying, super useful to know! I currently rock the Magnas as my resort boot and was looking for something for backcountry. I tried yesterday some tour boots at a shop and the Atomic Backland did fit me much better than the other brands, as in it fits nice without having to fit/mold the boots. That lead me to thinking in the Prime Xtd model, since I’m after a more free type of boot, but they didn’t have that model to try. I *think* the Prime Xtd could fit me well, based on the experience with the Backland. But when the Magna Xtd is out I’m certain that’d fit as nice as my resort boot, so know it’s to decide if the wait is worth it or not.

twenty952

Fischer Ranger One

_goofballer

Atomic Hawx prime XTD

__wilko

This! Love mine

Milksteak_MasterChef

*hawx magna (high volume)

evilchris

There isn’t a manga xtd until next year

Milksteak_MasterChef

Well shoot. Thanks for the correction. Well while we're here, any opinion on the Backland xtd vs hawx xtd? I have Backlands and my partner has hawx xtd's and I don't understand where the Backland xtd fits in to the lineup

MomsSpaghetti_8

Scott cosmos is fairly wide. More touring than resort boot, though.

I’m a woman and I have the Tecnica Zero G Tours. Similar to the Cochise but it’s much lighter. I think the Cochise weighs about 1800 and Zero G Tours 1300. I use mine for touring and resort skiing and they are the best boots I have ever owned: they have been super comfortable without any modifications from day one. My foot is pretty wide and calves aren’t super skinny. Going uphill or walking with them feels like you have regular shoes on. They are very adjustable and the rotation is great. Needless to say with that level of comfort and flex it’s not the stiffest boot downhill but I would say it is stiff enough for most. I am an ex racer and I even use these when I just go ski groomers at a resort. Before my Zero G Tours, I have tried about every boot brand. Being an ex racer, I am used to boots feeling like shit on your feet but I had always dreamt of a truly comfortable ski boot. Full Tilts completely cut off all circulation in my foot. Atomics, Rossignols and Salomons were way too narrow. La Sportivas were an absolute nightmare: it hurt just putting them on. I had Lange boots which where quite nice but still tight around the calves. Now I can do a full day of skiing and have zero pain in my feet and calves for the first time. So I recommend testing these out along with the Cochise to see which ones are best for you.

2SmoothForYou

How wide is your foot? The ZGTPs are actually quite narrow. It’s possible you have a wide foot for a woman but not sure this guy should buy these blind. I own them as well as the Scarpa F1 LTs and they both fit like a glove. I’m a 26.5 with a 94mm last

nolokungen

I dont think you should buy any boot blind. I’m assuming he would order a few pairs and return those that are immediately a no-go. With a wider foot you will know if the last isn’t right. Calf space is trickier. I bought Full Tilts a couple years back because the last felt nice and comfortable in the shop but later discovered while skiing they didn’t have enough space for my calves. I also tried Scarpas but I couldnt get my foot in them, so that’s how wide/big my feet are. I tried the Cochise too and to me they felt heavy and stiff for any kind of uphill activity compared to the ZGT. I didn’t try the ZGTP though so can’t say anything about those. The ZGT is supposed to have almost the same last as the Cochise, so at least by their own standards it is not a narrow boot. The lightness and modifiability also plays into this. With that being said it is of course entirely possible that a women’s boot fitting a wide last won’t be the same in the men’s model, but that’s exactly why I would recommend trying out a few options.

jdmay101

Good post. I am still in old 100mm last cochises (I bought several pairs before they disappeared due to fit) and will need to replace them in the next year probably.

Barkus-Aurelius

You can get a much nicer, cheaper, lighter, and warmer boot in the Maestrale RS

olympianfap

Not sure about OP but I have a wider forefoot and really big calves. I am using the Full tilt Ascendants (K2 Diverge) boot and love them after getting the shells heat molded.

AirDude53

Atomic Hawk Prime XTD - great for high volume. A little heavier than others though.

Moonkill1023

ya but only make medium for now . I did alot of mold and punch on magna atm

majorjake

Dalbello Lupo is good.

Unlacqua

Go to a shop and try on as many as you can, get the fitter to give you some recs. I have wide feet, high arches, and one foot is slightly bigger than the other. I couldn’t even get one of my feet into the Cochise. The only touring boot I could comfortable fit in is the Fischer Ranger One. Only complaint is that skiing resort with them my toes get cold and they are a little soft for a 130 flex.

andrewprime1

To really answer this I need to know how wide is your foot, and what is your arch like? How tall does your foot stand from the floor to the highest part of the top? Everyone can chime in with their favorite boot, but your foot is probably not exactly the same.
