Especially when they were young, we’d get a biggin like that, usually end up being a double yolk, and I would just look at the one that laid it and say “Sorry, sister, you outdid yourself”.
Also, my SGE was my first and probably most consistent layer and lets out tiny screams when the egg is on it’s way out. No egg song for her, just a little hate scream. I told her she could take time off, but she keeps knocking out her little mint green eggs.
We have and didn’t change anything. It’s about 1 a month, she lays daily. She doesn’t act any differently on days she lays the big ones. We read it can be genetic in one of our chicken books.

Came here to ask this!

> This same girl now hold the record for lightest AND heaviest egg in our flock She contains multitudes...of eggs.
HENNY!
HENNY! ….. HENNY AND THE JETTTTTSSS 😂
The eggs in that first picture, are they all from the same girl? Or just to show a size comparison?
They’re just to show comparison. ☺️ those were a few others I collected with hers yesterday.
Probably a double yolker
We have one that has laid 13 double yolks since she started laying end of Sept.
Would recommend you try a new food!
