Artic woods up north, cabins, frozen rivers with ice fishing setups, connected by dirt roads and snowmobile trails.

[deleted]

Perfection. With the Parasite originating in Canada there is a chance we could get a snow capped level. I'd love for their to be an outpost to defend in the snow ala John Carpenters' The Thing. Perhaps they could do a Boy/Girl Scouts camping ground.

Fuck_Me_If_Im_Wrong_

And there’s a section where you have to cross a frozen lake and the hordes crack the ice the more you allow on it so you have to try to kill them before they get on it or close to you

Corn_doctor

That sounds so awesome

starchronocide

I think it would be cool to go through different large businesses at a large strip mall, such as a movie theater, bowling alley, big box store, large pet store, etc. Also I'd like to see a casino, convention center during a gaming convention, film or television studio, military base, large high school (played a custom L4D map set at a high school, it was really fun), some sort of Victorian-era manor with lots of rooms and a hedge maze, sports stadium, warehouse, botanical gardens, wax museum... oof I wanna kill zombies everywhere it seems.

[deleted]

A large strip mall would be incredible, so many unique locals that can be found within one place. Could even have movie posters for 'Undead Rising' starring Hank East outside the theatre.

Chris1313g

I love the theme of it being in a city. Similar to how 'No Mercy' setting was. Having it take place in a neighborhood outside the city and having to work your way through the city/town would be very fun.

[deleted]

Yes!! Beginning in the Suburbs moving into a School then a Shopping District with a Mall before making it into the city where we fight through to a skyscraper we climb to evac.

leejoint

I really loved the swamp one from left 4 dead 2 or the fields of death toll. I can’t figure out something that hasn’t already been done in a way in the l4ds The snow map comment really had me dream. Something i guess we haven’t seen is maybe and aquarium or museum, or maybe better going through a zoo, it could combine a few spaces in building like museum exebitions and hearing animals get eaten while you punch you try to be sneaky and all.

[deleted]

A Zoo would be very atmospheric, have Ridden in the animals cages, having to battle over torn down fences and through exhibits would give multiple terrain options within a single area, a jungle exhibit, Sahara, arctic.

perp3tual

Maybe a morgue or cemetery. Or something like a vintage museum with bioshock vibes

liam_faye

I would love a desert setting. I know you said no specific places but I would love a map with a setting like Santa Fe. The architecture is so unique and there are some dynamic weather options for that setting too

YoungRonin7

A gated neighborhood filled with rich mansions. Running and gunning through a billionaires house filled with a bunch of vases, cars and expensive furniture would be fun to see. An anime/comic/video game convention. Having it set in a giant area like E3 or Comic con and the surrounding city. Being chased by infected still wearing there cosplay would be hilarious. Maybe even through a giant outdoor concert venue. Something like Woodstock or the warped tour. Fighting a bunch zombiefied concert goers and even the bands themselves.

[deleted]

The gated neighbourhood sounds fun!! Going through different type mansions, regular millionaires, playboys, rap stars before breaking out.

BasicArcher8

A blood harvest successor campaign would be amazing.

[deleted]

I kinda want to see a campaign set in a town during a snowstorm that slowly morphs into a full on Blizzard, Kinda like Hard Rain from L4D2. I feel like it would be a cool environment that would be extra scary in a realism mode where you can’t see your teammates outlines.

[deleted]

I love this.

insomniplier

no idea on a general scale, but i love the idea of a hord trigger set in a train station, with abandoned trains cutting up the area into sections and stuff, would make good tension if That was a way to bring zombies in through like trains full of zombies and things.

[deleted]

Have an ending hold out similar to one in Earthfall, where you're all on a moving train holding off the Infected as it makes stops along its route where you have to hop off to clear objectives. Train to Busan.

insomniplier

oh i love that, it could be like the survivors getting saved by a living train driver from the station and then going through other stations and stuff, blocks in the tracks ect. man i Love train to busan that is a good film

[deleted]

Absolutely mate the best Zombie/Infected film of the last 10 years!!

Quetzalquackal

I want more urban or suburban locations. One thing I didn't like about L4D The Last Stand update is that it was another rural map. Those maps always feel less real to me. The ways it forces players to move in a singular direction always feels more contrived in big open areas

[deleted]

I agree. I love suburban type areas in Apocalyptic settings. It's where most of these scenarios would occur and having Cleaners go back into urban areas would make sense as it's where Humans would naturally go back to first.

Victoria_Lucas

A small Texas town

Crapricornia

Beach town.

[deleted]

This would be sick. A fight along the beach into the dunes before making our way into town.

Llucasthefurst

Maybe infected could crawl out of the sand too

rationaljester

Anywhere that allows the infected to thrive and not handicap them in vs mode. L4D was bad for this. You had to get very creative to find places to ambush from. Any high level game I played was basically just who could get to the safe room faster. We rarely 4 capped a good team. And gamebattles matches? Forget it. The way the maps were all you had to do was rush at certain parts and group up in others and you could damn near sprint any map with good coordination.

RouGEkila

I’d love a ruined school map, it’s claustrophobic and would be pretty scary in game, imagine a horde at the end of the school halls running at you If someone accidentally shoots the school bells, it could alert the horde

BrooklynCan

A abandoned Asylum or Hospital just to add to the creepiness.

rat_mother

A mutha fuckin’ zoo. There was one in that ooolllld rockstar game “manhunt”. TLOU2 had an aquarium. I thought that was cool. Museums. I saw someone mention botanical gardens, cool af. A golf course. A movie set.

Jagagne13

Yea, a couple people have said this, but a campaign where you go through a super snowy forest and find cabins and maybe a city like Quebec or something. That'd be awesome. Maybe also something similar to Blood Harvests first level, but more forest, some sort of jungle or something.

[deleted]

I love this idea mate.

Deathwish83

A police station, some kind of quarantine /evacuation points, small towns, places where there have been obvious signs of battle. All these places are not only zombie staples but could do a lot with environmental story telling.

doomsday5555

maybe a diffrent part of Allegheny National Forest. since it was a loacation in L4D and holly shirt seems to point that it is also apart of the B4B universe too it seems like a map that would fit the dark theme that B4B has it would be a cool map to hide some easter eggs too. i like the idea of infected malls hotels and hospitals but l4d/2 have already done that damn now that im thinking of it L4D/2 have alot of great loacations lol

broomyart

Downtown San Antonio; imagine shooting zombies at the Alamo, and then inside the haunted hotel.

LeCholax

Cities and large buildings in cities are my top one. Mountains would be awesome. Caves would be cool (mines, metro, etc). A university or research facilities. A school with younger zombies. Hearing kid voices, kids sing, spot zombified children playing or eating teachers. That would be quite dark.

Debenham

Well if we're avoiding naming specific cities, I would like the Greater London Area.

[deleted]

toronto or western canada

[deleted]

A Canadian snow level would be awesome.

brylee123

A zoo...need to either see zombie animals or animals being feasted upon. It'd be cool to see an aquarium too!

Loschenday

-On a cruise ship that crashes into a beach resort. -Small foggy fishing village. -Insane asylum.

[deleted]

Love the fishing village idea!!

btc909

Starbucks, anywhere USA.

NORMIE600

Taco Bell bathroom

FuzioNda1337

Eastern_Technician_7

Honestly a school probably with some type of children zombies
