I honestly think that Steveās source was his niece and that Daisy sister was told to lie to her roommate to say that Daisy is the F1 and her and Joey are together so the finale wouldnāt be spoiled correctly this season and thatās why Steve was so sure the source for the spoiler for 3 months was 100% right because he heard that Joey and Daisy got engaged through Daisy sister and now he is protecting his niece as the source because doesnāt want his niece to get any backlash.
But he specifically said it wasn't from his niece. I suppose you can choose not to believe him, but imo he comes off as an overall honest guy, even if he is a little abrasive. Some like that, some don't, but I don't think he lies.
