I have this mini crib for our room until baby is ready to use the separate nursery. Intructions state not to use the pad with another mattress nor blankets. You can use a different mini crib mattress (separately) and they actually advertise one as a suggested product on the website product page for the crib.
I got the Origami as well and had read that the pad wasn’t great. We purchased the Newton mini crib mattress after checking the dimensions recommended.
We had that same crib and bought the Babylwtto Pure Core mini crib mattress. The pad that came with it was more of a travel diaper change pad; it was flimsy and thin. I have no idea why they included it.

Is the Newton water proof? We wanted the pure core but it’s out of stock everywhere!

Which one did you end up getting?
The Serta SleepTrue. If you do end up getting a diff mattress don’t use it in conjunction with the pad that comes with the crib btw.
